Best Mono Line hands Down
the brand i like is cajun line red cast. never had any problems with it, i bought some spider wire a while back and after breaking off on a fish and a snag that i couldve gotten with the other, instantly switched, keep in mind i use the 14 and 17 lb tests for my fishing. landed my 12.4 on this line brand. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/cajun-line-red-cast-8-lb---300-yards-monofilament-fishing-line#repChildCatid=560763

Confused - bass only going for senkos
worm is just such an easy meal for a bass, they rarely pass it up especially the small to mid size fish.

Your dumbest mistakes on the water. I made mine today.
as far a spiderwire goes i HATE IT! i bought some mono line from them (20lb test) and it felt like it broke at 12 or 15 especially after having to get unsnagged, final straw came when i got a backlash and 2 casts later my line broke on the cast, i guess the know i had to get out crimped the line abit which i understand but on the cast ? (only a 1/4oz) sticking with my cajun line red cast for that. that being said i havent used spiderwires braided line, powerpro is imo the best braided line though.

What Really Makes a Lure? Or, Why Do Bass Strike?
figured that would be an obvious question as far as that goes many times if you drop the lure right on top of them they will strike, its kindof like someone moves their hand right infront of your face, you blink without thinking about it. same goes if you hear a loud noise and weren't expecting it, you jump or look, again without thinking about it. somethings are just programmed into the mind, of all creatures. when realism imo becomes importnant is the clear water when bass are feeding, and with older smarter fish, a 2lber that hasnt seen a lure in his life will often go for a lure without really thinking it through, a 15 lber on the other hand isnt going to bite something that looks funny that easily. theres a reason that i use the most realistic lures and colors (atleast start there) regardless of time or weather.

Not sure what I did wrong. Bass died!
It's one fish don't beat yourself up over it, imo just don't let the fish go to waste. (I've eaten bass before, they taste good) I release fish most of the time but sometimes I do fish for food (the entire reason that man came up with fishing) most of the bass I keep are between 2 and 5 lbs never any over 8 except one which was not going to make it anyway Those things happen, it's part of it.

New Lures
caught many bass on the strike king cranks, i prefer a shad pattern/ color and a smaller size, alot easier to get bass to hit that small crankbait rather than a big bulky one, senkos are good but over priced, for this reason i buy the yum dinger. rebel pop-r is a great popper and poppers are my favorite topwater lure.
