  1. 6'3"-7' (depending on preference/your height) medium power|fast action i prefer a 6'6"
  2. no i never used it, but once i return the lefty and get a right handed i can try it out. i just cannot reel fast enough with my left hand, have to be able to keep tension on a fish.
  3. i ordered one but accidentally got a lefty so sending that back to get a right handed, the reel looked good through the plastic.
  4. Well I just ordered a 7ft MH/f to replace my broken 6'6" MH/f Next stick will be a 7'6" h for frogs jigs and flipping, probably have a reel with 25lb mono
  5. i was the same way untill august of last year, i could not get the fish to bite a dang thing, i brought out a black and blue jig and but a black and red flake trailer on it, suddenly everything turned on and i ended up with a 25lb sack in 30mins, with two 7+ fish. had a similar day last week where nothing else worked except the jig with a craw, and i lost the only jig i had, after catching a fish every third cast at the least i didnt catch A SINGLE FISH after that, even tried t-rigging the craw, nothing, i think the difference was with the t-rig it landed flat but with a jigs the claws were pointed up, which i believe triggered most strike because of the fact most hits came while it was on bottom. never leave without a couple jigs in my box nowadays.
  6. try working the rod angled toward the right, a 7' will be enough and if you must you could step down to a 6'6
  7. I've always loved Abu reels, I also just ordered my first daiwa (Laguna) but have no experience with them. Never used a bps reel either.
  8. t-rig ribbontail worm spinnerbait and frog those 3 things can go a long way
  9. #1. 7.5 inch ribbontail in black shad #2. 3/8 oz white spinnerbait with willow blades #3. white hollow body frog #4. green pumpkin jig with a black craw style trailer #5. 5" watermelon redflake paddle tail swimbait #6. bone colored popper #7. stick worm in green pumpkin #8. square bill in sexy shad #9. white beetle spin #10. screw this i want all my stuff
  10. dont for get its 80 bucks on tw RIGHT NOW https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-ABURODS.html?from=basres
  11. beetle spin or a trick worm or ill just forget number and go for size and pull out a 12" worm or a swimbait.
  12. i use the same rod for both (7' mh/f) because i cant afford specific setups but if i could id like a slightly stiffer rod for the jigs and slightly softer for the spinners. i use braid for both for the extra sensitivity. since the baits are moving i dont think theres any difference
  13. spinning rods cast light lures farther, easier. lighter line does the same.
  14. also see yum on the list now so theres 2 of my favorite bait companies.
  15. the pointy part of the casting rod gets in the way aswell, the two are separated for a reason, can i and should i are two hugely different things.
  16. culprit 7.5 inch ribbontail in black shad. t-rig with an 1/8-1/4 oz weight| 10 inchers with a 1/4-1/2 weight zoom super fluke or jr. t-rig weightless or drop shot yum pulse swimbait in sexy shad and summer gill. belly wieghted t-rig or a 1/8-1/2oz worm weight weightless t-rig trickworm, also works better on a jighead sometimes. ive always disliked the swimmin flukes, the gutted design works great for the fluke but with a belly weighted hook a full body is better.
  17. i throw swimbaits like that a lot year round, slow down to a bottom crawl in winter sometimes but still fishes great,
  18. Yes it was my first baitcaster and still going strong,
  19. 6'6" medium/fast casting rod. 7 speed reel 15 - 17 lb monofilament 6'6 medium/fast spinning rod. 2500 size reel 10lb mono or a 15-20lb braid to a 10/12lb mono leader.
  20. 17-20lb stren mono is my preference. when he takes it reel until you feel pressure then swing,\ the 15lb will do but i would personally prefer a little hevier.
  21. ok i just realized something was wrong, the tip insert of my rod is out, and palomar know helped in the test so ill take it back its actually decent im just stupid
  22. i bought some 30lb fortis and broke off a couple times, got home took some fresh line to the spool connect one end to my scale and one to a doorknob, consistently broke between 12 and 15 pounds of pressure... maybe i did something wrong since thats the first time ive used braid. edit: nvm it was me.
  23. whats the worst piece of fishing gear you've ever used ?
  24. 6'6 medium/fast spinning rod with a 3000 size spinning reel | for light lures. 7' medium heavy/fast casting with a 7.1:1 + speed reel | basic use rod, worms, spinnerbaits etc. 7'6 heavy/fast casting with a 6.4:1 - 7.1:1 speed reel (with strong drag) | use with braid for frogging flipping, good jig rod if use with leader. 6'6 medium/fast casting with a 7 speed reel | top water/jerkbaits. 7'3 medium heavy/moderate casting with a 6.4:1 | cranking rod.
