  1. i have a pond i let people fish, if they leave trash theyre leaving with a hurtin behind.
  2. alot of times just going to the opposite side will get you unsnagged if none of the above works.
  3. id like to get some more experience with dropshots but the fish want what they want
  4. make sure you bring a black buzzbait.
  5. ugly stick is a good starter rod that is tough to break but it has little sensitivity. for a cheap rod with better feel the abu garcia vengeance is a good choice, really it depdns what is more important to you. to start id recommend a 6'6 medium power, fast action, spinning rod. the abu garcia black max is a good reel for cheap as well if you dont buy a combo. for line 10lb mono is a good low cost line. baits start out buying some 4/0 ewg hooks, the h20 xpress one from academy will do fine. 3 baits that will go far are the yum dinger in green pumpkin, the zoom super fluke in baby bass, and the stanley ribbit frog. couple of others are the culprit 7.5 inch worm and zoom trick worm. start with 2 or 3 and LEARN THOSE BAITS.
  6. switch to mono untill you get good enough with a baitcaster to not get that rats nest, it will happen but rarely. then go to what ever you want. personally i prefer mono for most things but if the water is pretty murky braid is a good choice.
  7. either a shimano or an abu garcia, 7:1 gear ratio is a good alll around.
  8. i personally like the booyah frogs for price vs quality. but the lunker hunt frogs are nice too.
  9. kind of looks like the hooks need sharpening.
  10. 7.5 inch culprit ribbontail in black shad, caught my second biggest bass of 11lbs on it. also the first lure i ever learned to fish.
  11. depends how many techniques and places you fish, if you only fish a couple of ponds and only use a few techniques 2 rods will cover ALOT of your fishing 6'6" m/f spinning with 10lb mono and a 7' mh/f casting with 17lb mono. you can do alot with those two setups. if you fish alot of different places and fish more than once or twice a week you might want more in addition to those two "must haves" like a heavy rod with braid for frogs and flipping/punching or a cranking rod with flouro or a topwater dedicated rod. but for a bank fisherman those 2 setups with maybe one more cover what you need.
  12. slower gear ratio = more torque
  13. it depends are you fising slop or walking a frog in open water, if your in the slop id reccomend a 6.5:1 or less if in open water a 7.1:1
  14. i use a 6'6" m spinning rod with 10lb mono for lighter lures and a 7' mh casting rod with 17lb mono those 2 setups can do alot of things.
  15. work one one thing learn it then learn another, whenever the bite isn't on thats what i am doing, learning new techniques,
  16. jigs, went from 0 confidence in them to catching two 7lber in one day once.

  19. on a paddle tail swimbait get to torn up to texas rig i use them as a trailer on a spinner bait or buzz bait
  20. if you want to add a hard bodied swimbait the h20xpress ones at academy are 6 bucks i think
  21. out of stock for a number of things, hopefully back in by christmas, probably get a reel and some mono and braided line.
  22. this will probably interest you, http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-jointed-sunfish-3-12-swimbait#repChildCatid=22569 also ive caught alot lately on these in summer gill, https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yum_Pulse_Swimbait/descpage-YPSD.html?from=basres tight lines.
