  1. I am adding a small casting deck to a 14' chill. I want two trolling motors, but will start with one. I want to have a 55 pound endura c2 36" and a power drive v2 55 52" I like the long battery life that these motors create. Which one should I get first
  2. Which is the better option for a casting deck and its support?
  3. Would a 7' m and a 2500-3000 with 20 pound braid and a 12 pound leader work?
  4. 200 was a typo, i meant 20 pound braid with an 8-12 pound leader
  5. Lol, I would probably break off a lot
  6. my uncle is commercial fisherman in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I live in South-Eastern PA and have a house in North-East PA. We have been talking and my family wants to join him on one of his trips to Pulaski. I am only 15. according to him, i won't need to pay to fish the private sections, however it is 70$ per day per adult. Also, an out of state license is 28$ for a week. The next step is acquire gear. Will the tourney trail salmon rods and a 4000 pflueger president lt with 300yards of 200 pound test braid and a 12 pound test leader work?
  7. no, I'm getting a durnautic instead
  8. i am going to wait and get a better boat. thanks for the advice to you and others
  9. I had the spinning version of this reel. both worked great. anyone know if this is a good cheap bait caster. i have a cabbalas arachnid and quantum smoke. should i save up for a carbon fire or a better reel?
  10. use a clinch or uni knot cinch the knot with moisture, this should help
  11. probably a bad spool, don't quit on the line yet
  12. moderate action loads better and will help when setting the hook
  13. good idea, should i ask to test it out before buying
  14. Looking at an Alumacraft jon boat that is 14' long. it is 36" wide. i want to add a casting deck in the front. if i put the deck 3 inches below the boat's lip, will it be stable enough to stand on. keep in mind that I want to bow mount a trolling motor eventually and will start with a single transom motor in the back with the batteries. this is a 1-2 person rig. thanks
  15. no, it is used and has a welded patch on the side, doesn't leak, is 225$ and in good shape thanks for the help!
  16. looking at a 14' DuraNautic boat. It has 4 seats and it is a hull. the bottom is curved. was wondering if the boat is stable enough for a casting deck addition. thanks
  17. nice, i live only an hour and 22 minutes. i probably want to keep the boat unless i can get more than 75 dollars for it, it might be good just to keep up at our lake house. that is a good idea to test it out first!
  18. Thats actually what i am looking for! pros price titles trailer motors cons i have a 1962 10 foot sears and it is not stable. I am cautious to see how stable it is not new (this is irrelevant if its in good shape) its 1 hour and a half away looks like the pros outweigh the cons, will be calling them tomorrow! thanks again for the help
  19. I am splitting the costs with my grandfather, i have $600 of my own money on hand and that much or more in the bank, and more in coins. I want to get a 1436 tracker topper and a harbor freight trailer. that will be 1100. and then i would wait until xmas to do any more, because i would have no money. Overall it would be near 2000-2500, which i don't have right now. i may want to add an outboard at some point.
  20. Well after finally going there, my friend and i caught 3 smallmouth, all on a pink zoom finesse worm on a drop shot. he caught a nice largemouth on a split shot rig. Also i was messing around with a trolling rod when i let 500 yards of 10 pound test crusty mono and caught a smallmouth, very funny time, water was down about forty or more feet than last time i was there (1 month)
  21. sounds good, but it is too expensive right now, should i wait to get a boat and trailer when i can afford it?
  22. keep trying until you find em
  23. its all part of growing up-dad
