Buying reel from Ebay?
Yeah my last curado 70hg I got it from ebay as well but at first I feel like it not as smooth / free spin as it could be compare to unboxing of other curado/scorpion 70. I am also afraid that this reel would be a B grade reel with some mark or scratch that you cant see. That why seller on ebay get them cheaper. So far I dont have problem with the reel and it seems to be smoother cast better.

Buying reel from Ebay?
Would any of you guys buy reels from Ebay or Amazon third party? I think Im gonna order either Shimano Curado or Scorpion 70HG.. In process of shopping around, I found the one from eBay and amazon(Third party) is cheaper than any retailers or Japan tackle. On Amazon it list Scorpion 70HG as Daiwa 16 Scorpion ?. What do you guy think? is there such thing like fake shimano reel? I also found out that reel ship from Asian does not have reel oil in the box.(curado 70hg and chronarch 50e).

SK vs GYCB
i will buy any brand that catch fish, but if two catch the same rate but one last longer I would defenitely go with the one that last long. Senko is good alway catch fish same as Yum, but they both dont last long. I will try to use senko on wacky rig with shrink tube more to save the bait. Zoom, I buy this because of color Green weenie which alway catch me fish when other cant, but this thing is so soft and last only 1 fish 2 the most. I alway save this for last. Lately I bought quite a few of Zman and like it a lot. I catch quite a bit of bass with Zman and the plastic still as good as new, cant beat that. The only thing is hard to hook them properly without ned jig.

Help with spinning reel
Shimano symetre, that what I got.

Braid to Fluoro???
I prefer braided line on spinning and copolymer on baitcaster. With copolymer, Yozuri #6 I dont have to worry about leader just tie the hook directly to mainline. This for all type of plastic I normally fish with.

Best Copolymer/hybrid fishing line?
Buy Yozuri Hybrid #6 or #8 and forget about anything else. It is cheap and work quite well for all purpose fishing type unless you fish in very nasty stuff.

Finally caught a Florida snakehead.
Then why dont we just eat them all that snakehead or even carp just like tilapia. I know some ppl say they are trash fish but do you know those taste pretty good too if you know how to cook them. I know some middle east would spend money on those carp. I'd rather eat tilapia or even snakehead than eating bass anyday. btw, I think I read somewhere that LMB also not a Native fish in CA. Correct me I am wrong.

Braid vs Mono Size - Shimano Reel
I think it depends on brand too, like Raul mention 30lbs of samurai ~ 6lbs mono. I happened to use the same brand but J-daiwa which 20lbs braided ~ 6lbs mono. That is good enough for me. I got at least more than 100yds on my 2500 symetre. Dont forget you have to deduct backing line depends on how much you spool in first.

Curado 70 vs Curado 50E
My new chronarch 50e arrived today, will try first thing in the morning. I hope you right about smaller size, I got small hand so smaller is good sign. This reel will replace my Curado 100d place where I use for jig and other thing.

Fenwick Aetos
The rod is 7'2" MH, XF the reel is shimano curado 70hg. I think i know where the problem is, the trigger part on Aetos is fatter than any of my other two rods. Thus i had to reach all the way when palm to get my pinky finger to wrap around. This is a palm method I use a lot lately for dropshot / senko where i can feel the bite with my index finger touching the line. gotta get used too with different palm technique.

HELP! Am I terrible at fishing? Or is it my location?
You got a lot of good advices here. I'm pretty new in bass fishing too. I start fishing bass like 6-7 or may be 10 yrs ago. It had been on and off bass fishing for me despite all that some years I didnt even catch a single bass, some year just all the dinks. I have spent money on all kind of lure both soft and hard bait. Still quite a lot of them never get a bite. A whole lot of them just gone with the wind. I almost quit bass fishing so many d**n times. Just recent years that I got a little more success but that not because Im better fishing but I get access to private community lake. Im still learning and learning. All I can tell you is never give up. Find a new water if old one tough to catch. Dont go overboard about all kind of lures just a few that you can use all year round until you get good at them. I would say start with plastic in only 2 shade color light (smoke / shad) or dark (blue /black). Senko is good start, dropshot and texas rig. Good luck to you.

Finally! A good day on the water

Fishing Report on private lake?
Can I post a fishing report on private lake here? I would not really say a true report more like a show off my catch ????. I promise I will include what type of lure color etc.? I HOPE, I will be moving into Canyon Lake CA within a month. I've heard that there are plenty of big DD bass there but it is private community lake whereas non member cannt fish there. I dont wanna upset other members who cant fish there, but in the mean time I wanna talk about my catches, my PB my DD bass in another word show off to other if you wanna call that. Im the only one in family who love bass fishing, my wife and my kids doesn't care much about fishing but if i show her picture of big fish, she would ask where is the fish, did you bring home that fish and so on. You know tripically asian family who eat all kind of fish. Don't worry I promised her to take home catfish or sunfish once awhile but never for bass except stripers.

1.5 hours, one bite.
Congrat on yr PB, you deserved it. Glad to hear story like this, it help me keep going as well and one day I will get a bass on lures that never caught anything before. I have used many many kind of lures and believe me a lot of them never seen a bite before.

Curado 70 vs Curado 50E
I almost in the same boat as you. I have curado 70hg and a brand new chronarch 50e coming in a few week. I have been using 70 hg for a month and like it a lot. It was hard to cast at first with lite lure but after awhile and all adjustment done, it casts like a dream, still got bird nest once awhile though. Too bad, my cousin bought that 50e before I got a hand on this 70hg otherwise I would op. for a second 70hg or even xg instead. I might even sell that brand new chronarch 50e since I asked my sister to look for scorpion 70 for me on her trip to japan next month.

Fenwick Aetos
Yes the black foam grip one. I narmally palm my reel with all my fingers under the reel and that when it bother me. I will give it a try a few more times and see how it goes.
