Handle nut for Shimano reel...
Are you saying, when you lost that spring, the handle with nut and nut cap attached (to handle) popped out? I think professional would be a better choice for you. You might pay more or pay less but at least it’s get done the right way.

Handle nut for Shimano reel...
@Delaware Valley Tacklealready asked if you lost just the handle nut or nut retainer (nut cap) and I kind off confused of your answer. These are two parts to hold the handle in place together. The picture show, the nut (1) and black plastic(2) (retainer screwed on to handle) to keep the nut in place. Without the nut cap or nut retainer(#2), no matter how tight the nut it will eventually come loose.

Ultralight bass fishing
@PressuredFishingwow I have just a short question but you give me the whole lecture, good for you. Look at all the line you use, this is from a guy used to complain about expensive gears. You are becoming something else. We are talking about bass here and we know bass is not line shy so smaller line not necessarily better. 4lb vs 6 or even 8lb on the right gear will cast as far. I don’t see benefits of using 4lb to get all the distance and then don’t have enough power to set hook in fish mouth. Using light line for dropshot is all about let the lure fall naturally, 4 lb line with dropshot weight down in the rock, can’t imagine how much money I have to spend for weight. Jdm toys yes I do but not because of the hype or to be in fashion. I got JDM gears mostly because the one I want is not available here. Even my Daiwa Exceler come from oversea why, I want 2000 size with slower gear ratio. This is suit the way I fish the best and it is not available in the US. I do study and research before buying gears not just because it cheap or cool to own JDM. Btw I paid more on JDM Vanford 2000s again because of the spec that only available overseas. Now I only talked about the gears I own, line or rod I use not he says she says.

Ultralight bass fishing
And if 1000 and 2000 size reel are the same but 2mm bigger spool, isn’t that consider more advantage? And I know not all have the same reels. My point is to use whatever feel right and give you the most enjoyable. If you a class act (I mean into the class and category) then use whatever considered UL, rod reel line. If you know how to adapt for the most advantage even though you will not considered into the class by all mean go for it.

Ultralight bass fishing
All my Shimano and Daiwa 2000 size or what I should say 2000 compact, using same 1000 body. Also weight lighter than my Shimano 750, and balance better on UL rod. How much different between 750 vs C2000?, not quite much I would say and NOBODY KNOWS if you use UL class reel or Finesse Class reel.

Ultralight bass fishing
I check 9 of my UL rod both spinning and baitcaster and none of them stated to use line smaller than .13mm or less than 4lb. Now who set the line class? Why do we use light line with UL lure? Some of the fish are line shy, light line cast light lure better. Smaller spinning reel can’t handle too big of line. Why UL class reel have to be 500 or 750? Is 1000 class considered as UL reel? Why not go all the way to 2000 size (same body as 1000) to be able to use bigger line than 750 reel? I’m not talking with power rod suitable for bass just line class in general.

Your Most Beautiful Bass of 2022
It is harder to pick for me since I see them all beautiful. If I really have to pick one, must be this girl. Most of the big bass I caught after spawning so they are pretty skinny but long. This one seem to have football shape.

Ultralight bass fishing
Reread this I’m kind of not agree using UL in spring for big bass. I’m not sure about others but I don’t target bedded fish. In spring it is gonna be hard to avoid those spawning bass, whether you see them or not. My goal is to catch and release as quick as possible. Female bass need a lot of energy to lay egg successfully and male bass need to preserve those energy even more to build the nest, guard the eggs and protect young fry. In spring, you have more chance of catching big girl that can produce big baby bass for future. I know fighting big bass with UL is fun but prolonged fighting them might reduce success rate of spawning. It is your choice though, but I wouldn’t.

Ultralight bass fishing
618 fishing used to be good with that kind of UL fishing for any kind of fish a few years back. Lately he’s been into cut bait for bigger fish. Everywhere he goes, he always have UL setup with him. He catch plenty and all kind with tiny jig head with curry tail grub.

If a top-shelf bass fishing celebrity could join BassResource...
Didn’t we have one before even created a sub-forum for it but failed miserably? The problem is pro or celebrities might not have time or interest to visit the forum everyday or a few times a day like most of us do. Another problem is one of those questions, which rod is good for this or reel good for that, which color of plastic the best, or even which high end stuffs should I get, do you think Pro want to answer that on daily basis unless promote their sponsorship. Accept that most of our forum members are kind of beginners, and those questions will pop up regularly. Do they care about in-depth techniques or just want to know what to buy and catch fish. They don’t even know (or know but too lazy) to search for their own benefit. Another thing is most pro or celebrities own bass boat and their suggestion for each technique base on boat approach. I think majority of us don’t and those approaches might not benefit them much.

Shimano Metanium Backlash Central
I’m not sure if 2020 Metanium use the same silent tune as older bantam MGL. That spring will keep the spool act as no side to side play even though it is pretty loose. Some Shimano reel I need to set spool tension a little tighter especially with braid. I don’t whip cast as hard when using Shimano compare to Daiwa. It just different system one with very fast spool (Shimano) and another with stronger brake profile all around. I need more thumb to tether the puffing line more with Shimano. I used to have this problem a lot when switching between Curado 70 and Daiwa alphas SV.

Help me catch some Crappie friends.....
If you see the boiling, bobbers rig might get you in strike zone longer, just keep moving/pause or steady slow retrieve. Baby Shad is a good choice also CB slider grub. I use baby Shad when fish deeper and slider grub shallower and slower. 1/32 and 1/16oz roadrunner can catch both bass and crappie and one of the best search bait for me.

Paypal and JDM purchases
Debit card is a no go in my book. I don’t know about you or others, but I’ve heard so many stories once money get out of your bank account, it is a lot harder to get it back compare to CC or PayPal. If I shop online no matter here or overseas, only three company get my CC number, Amazon, Costco and PayPal. Other online retailers, I always pay with PayPal. I don’t like the idea of leaving CC info all over the places. Sometime only 3-4% fee better than headache later on.

Paypal and JDM purchases
To me using either PayPal or CC is about trust too. Yes cheaper is better but would you risk to give out your CC number to overseas company or PayPal? When I ordered stuff online I always consider any other factor like tax, fee, shipping time and safety. … to be continued

Anyone remember the Scorpion 1000 4x4?
They perform great and better than a lot of newer model in 100-200 price range. If it is brand new and you paid only 50, that is a super good deal there.

Dirty Water Dropshot
Not saying it would work for you but you might wanna try some craw, baby brush hog or Yamamoto twin tail grub. I just shake, shake, pause and let it drop to bottom.

JDM questions...
@PhishLIif you fish the way you fish, where I would do the same, and you reels still smooth as ever, then I have nothing else to say. I have had quite a bit bad experience with Shimano and that make me worried. To my newest experience though, one of my alphas brass gear start buzzing when retrieve with some resistances. This is the gear I swap into zillion and had been fish hard around weed for the past 2-3 months. Lack of maintenance, no I made sure to degrease and then apply new grease. Gear swapped gone wrong, I doubt it. I swapped back the gear yesterday and the buzzing feeling still with the same gear when ever I reel the lure back in at fast pace. The other twos still remain smooth. Again this is my own experience, who fish almost everyday. I didn’t not say anyone to base on my opinion, just put it out there.

JDM questions...
Yes this is ridiculous dangerous for me. I can get away easier with my wife when order from Amazon. Been a prime member even since they started and I ordered most household items from Amazon. I don’t know how I ended up with Zillion HD, and this telescopic rod. I don’t really need any of these, but thinking I might as well get another 4 pieces rod for just in case ???, it is my birthday month anyway.
-
JDM questions...
Yeah some of the items from Japan, I saw on Amazon.com a few weeks ago started to disappear one by one. Seriously I don’t know how long I can resist, almost pull the trigger on Tatula 80 like 10 times. If Amazon has 800S I would have another reel I don’t need by now ???.

JDM questions...
Just other side of mirror, I’m not saying who’s right, who’s wrong here. Forum is full of opinion, right? first of all, you based on member of 2 years used, but you don’t know how he fish or how often he uses the reel. I can say my JDM zillion still smooth after a hard year or more of used with a bunch or 4-5lbs. But I use more like power finesse, not frog, punch rig, pulling deep crank. Junk MM gear. Kind of agree 99% here why I switched more to Daiwa after my bantam MGL acting up trolling and pulling deep crank a few times, and all all Curado 70 become buzzing more on frog setup. Winding in fight fish, nope we don’t do that, we let the fish pull drag, pull them in with rod then winding kind of slack line. I only winding against the fish just a short burst to get them up on surface when fishing weed. Once the fish up on top, they are nothing but a few lb of meat floating on water. I only see two type of ppl winding the fish, either pro tour or green hand. Again just IMHO don’t want to disagree with anyone.

Curado k spool tension setting
You need those two parts shown.

Curado k spool tension setting
This is normal for Shimano, circle rubber underneath the pieces of carbon fiber?. You mentioned metal? I only seen that on some Daiwa and Abu Garcia.

Baitcaster for beginner ?
Blackmax is good starter combo with plastic frame. Daiwa Fuego CT is easiest of the bunch to learn how to cast. I found it a bit more forgiving. Shimano SLX, XT, is for size and comfort. Smaller and lighter than Daiwa.

JDM questions...
Just remember JDM doesn’t come with US warranty and a bit of hassle if you want to return in whatever reason. Other than that enjoy while it last.
