  1. My boss started it in ‘89 when that movie was big
  2. I didn’t try any useless baits this year that I can recall . I have in years gone by, just don’t really fool with them anymore (like whopper plopper) caught plenty with buzz bait and jigs, even got a couple dinks on a spinnerbait. If you want to catch fish use plastic worms
  3. There is a stretch of the Holston river up towards Kingsport Tennessee where they have an ammunition plant on the water. If you float through there or drive up in a jet boat you will be met with machine gun and unhappy employee. Apparently they own several hundred yards of the river, you have to take out and walk/drive around It’s best to remain calm in such scenarios haha I don’t think it happens much if at all, mostly just messed up humans wanting to feel powerful. Threaten to shoot happens frequently. Actual shooting is usually reserved for domestic disputes as opposed to property disputes you should read about what happened in England before we all came to America! Haha we are slowly improving as humans. Back then you were disemboweled with a hot metal rod if they didn’t like your politics. Now you just get mean words on Facebook
  4. That’s hilarious. Ironically our company is called Varmint busters
  5. Still the same from what I understand. We saw the llamas up there in 2019. And this year we stopped at gatlinburg brewing on the way home for pizza and a brew. Turns out I think the owner of that place used to be in charge of the llama herd, said he had been up and down that trail 150 times
  6. Had a storm coming today so I didn’t launch the boat, but the morning dawn worked in the local rock quarry
  7. The definition of navigable water is also a little vague. Somewhere in there it states that if goods or services were traditionally moved down a river, it falls under coast guard jurisdiction as navigable water. Then if you keep reading it says even tributaries of such waters are considered navigable. So they could claim just about anything by that definition. Even so, a lot of the Tennessee land deeds are as you described, people own halfway out into the water and the people on the other side own the other half
  8. Go for it! I Want to say it’s only 5 or 5.5 miles on the shortest trail. My Brother and I hiked up and right back down it when I was 16, I think it was about 4 hours up and like 1 hour 45 minutes on the way down
  9. My wife loves her kayak ! She requested it instead of an expensive engagement ring
  10. Sure is! There are two locations even closer to my house, one downtown and one in east Knox. we are frequent customers haha.
  11. Next time you are visiting your home place in NC let me know !
  12. I’ve noticed that…….. hahaha
  13. I’m still skunked for life with my red eye Shads. i have good success with rapala rippin rap and bill Lewis rat L trap
  14. I was beyond fortunate to stay on mount Le Conte this weekend at 6,593 feet. They had recently had some snow but it was mostly gone by the time we arrived and the weather was perfect. We sometimes take these beautiful places for granted driving by them multiple times a day, it was good walk all over and through it. We hiked up the alum cave trail that is the most direct/steep route and stayed the night at the lodge. Then we came down the boulevard trail to the Appalachian trail and walked it to a second car we had left on highway 441. Maybe about 15 miles of hiking in two days but we didn’t have to pack that much because the lodge at the top has propane heaters and food. I’ve got a million pictures, but they of course don’t capture what all your eyes take in. The entire weekend felt like being in part of a painting. I’ll post them hopefully in somewhat of sequence day 1 on the way up alum cave/bluffs we arrived at the lodge around 12:15 pm, a little under 4 hours from when we left the car. Turns out you can see Douglas lake from the lodge, I had forgotten that after eating what we packed up, we got checked into our ten person cabin and dropped off our packs. Then we hiked around a bit and finally got to a spot called cliff tops where everyone watches the sunset. The views from this spot are certainly breathtaking (that’s my bride on the edge, I was a little queasy…….) Not a bad spot to wait a couple hours for sunset then back to the cabin for a hearty dinner and drinks. here’s a view from the cabin overlooking sevierville after dark The next morning, we quickly hiked a mile in the dark to a spot called myrtle point for sunrise. You may notice picture quality goes up at sunrise because she forgot her phone at the cabin and used mine for pics haha After sunrise, we hiked back to the lodge for breakfast and had to check out. We started the descent at 9:22 am , a much longer trail than we took up but beautiful the entire way down these two rock spines below are called the chimneys. They caught fire a few years ago and you are no longer allowed to hike to them And of course a Celebratory milkshake down in the valley with the mountain we stayed on top of in the background
  15. I think trapping bears is only legal if you work for the govt. Some states may let you hunt over bait, and lots of Canada definitely lets you hunt over bait
  16. Small freestone streams around here are also not good fishing once it gets cold. Tailwaters with stable temps remain good fishing, leading me to believe the drastic drop in water temp shuts them down smallies will eat like sharks in 47-49 degree water but they will pretty much sit still below 40 degrees
  17. Must be because the bear fur comes with its own natural Shad wax on it! Haha
  18. Have you ever seen a tree branch growing out of a tree, then back into the tree, then growing out of the other side?
  19. I never met Aaron but from hearing what everyone says, I believe he fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Rest easy furious hog snatcher
  20. I think devonte Adams was also out last week, don’t know about Sunday
  21. I got you a couple more glass smooth lake photos today along my trapping route. It was even calmer where I crossed a bridge. Melton hill lake on the clinch river. That’s the main channel, you can see the channel marker in the bottom pic. A boat had even just ripped by before I took the pictures
  22. Ah, gotcha. I whiffed on reading the title. I’ve never done jerky
  23. I rode in my buddy’s bass boat last night about 60 mph, quite brisk. I had to make sure my face was still accounted for when we stopped
  24. Deer? A tiny bit of salt and pepper and that’s it. Don’t go smearing stuff on wild game, that’s what store bought food is for i had some deer for breakfast Saturday morning. It’s nectar of the gods and needs no seasoning, the only reason salt and pepper ended up on there is because my wife woke up while I was cooking it and she intervened haha
  25. That’s because Aaron rodgers is out with Covid 19
