  1. You can’t see it in the photo but there’s a hole chewed by a squirrel where the siding meets the soffit near the satellite dish I set this trap yesterday and you can’t see it but the nursing adult female squirrel is in there here she is up close. As I was getting that trap down I could hear another one running through the soffit. After I got my ladder loaded up, I sat in the truck for a second and watched that hole And squirrel number to poked his head out so I reset some more traps @Smells like fish. This is the bulk of what we do From October to early May
  2. That intuition is what keeps a lot of people alive. There’s a reason people are scared of spooky noises, standing on the edge of a cliff, or lions tigers and bears
  3. The one that killed a camper most recently was a male moral of the story, whatever assumptions you have, the bear doesn’t know them. They call it wildlife for a reason, they don’t read the books or the fishing forum
  4. Unless of course you work for the govt We have lots of native snails in the water. If you want more boat inspections and higher fees, by all means report it!
  5. Well clearly brown ones are meaner than black ones. But the attitude the black ones are friendly cute and cuddly has caused a bunch of people to get way too close and get injured or killed. I just cited a few examples of a black bear biting someone to death, a black bear trying to bite someone to death, and a black bear chasing someone and that’s just the limited experience of one person in their 30s. Just because dozens of them have ran away it doesn’t mean they all will You can come to TN and go 12 rounds with one and then call it a wimp
  6. Unfortunately for you, I’ve got several of those metal pieces of tape measures in all of my boats! I shall make you squint for years to come in this thread…… when it really gets fun is when I use the ones that I’ve cut up away from the zero end and you have to do some math calculations
  7. I’ve got the health and ability but lack the knowledge. I always have to go through a list of friends and have them tell me What to do. Luckily I’ve got fishing buddies in all the trades I’ll change oil and tires and bulbs, anything above that I need adult supervision
  8. I’m not allowed to have nice things like a plastic measure board, just look at what I did to a perfectly good measuring tape!
  9. Haha! That’s what my buddies said on a group text. It’s when you upload the pic, it’s loses clarity, he was pushing 19”. See if this is more legible? Here in the land of 100% humidity 100% of the time, everything is rusted
  10. Yes I watch all his stuff too, it’s great
  11. Just now?? Man you’ve been missing out! I should’ve alerted you.
  12. Caught a nice smallie today with worm. Tried fluke with no bites
  13. My boss got two beavers in the same trap this morning
  14. I have not and will never stop worm fishing
  15. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/8208113002 They are getting a little more aggressive around here, one killed a hiker near where I camped last summer . Another 16 year old kid was dragged out of his hammock by one but his dad beat it over the head until it ran away. When I worked for the park service we pelted one with river rocks and it wouldn’t run away, a young bear. Also my brother was in waders fishing a pond in Alaska and a bear walked out into the water towards him. He started yelling and screaming and waving his fishing rod but the bear kept approaching, so he eventually had to run. We heard all the crazy sloshing and finally saw him running at us out of breath. He could barely say “bear” and we said you aren’t supposed to run from bears. He then flipped us off
  16. They are the loudest creature you’ve ever heard when moving through the woods
  17. Clearly you’ve never been around an armadillo! Or squirrel or chipmunk……
  18. No bears in Missouri?? I thought they were everywhere
  19. RIP joe diffie
