They usually reconnect ours pretty quickly when it goes out, but I’d like to think I can live without power for a few days. Heck, power just came to Appalachia when my grandpa was a teenager 😂

Yes I’ve tried rope, that’s the only thing I’ve found they won’t bite haha. Jerkbait is my best lure for gar by a landslide. Dead bluegill is also good.

Year round. I even fish after floods when I know I’m not going to catch anything, water > dry land

@casts_by_fly, I target gar all the time. Almost every one will bite but hook up ratio is terrible. I get several 40+ inchers every year but you have to miss a hundred bites to get one

How to stop catching gar ? Those things are hard to hook, impressive if you’re catching a lot of them 😂

I can catch SMB with craw baits or minnow baits in winter or summer and anywhere inbetween, they prefer what they can get regardless of weather. They are also big fans of worms

You’ve got them more dialed than I can ever dream of, they are the least predictable fish I’ve ever went after

Hahahah. Never been to Jackson but i do see many cars equipped with bunjee cords in my neighborhood. It’s almost as common as the trash bag auto glass replacement

They’d sure know when they see and/or hear it, clumsy things. I would have swore there were 75 people or a dump truck going thru the woods the other day while fishing and it was a few turkeys kicking leaves and flying up into tree tops and then from one tree to the other, violent crash landings 😂
