Rod becoming weaker??
Maybe some fractures? Either way it would be on the first flight to Powell if it were mine.

Bass caught in pond ... look what's in the gullet!
To get rid of moles I use those I call them torpedoes. They take a C or D battery and emit a high pitched noise that I guess deters them. No more moles, that battery runs out the moles came back. The battery last a couples years, even in the cold winters of Michigan.

I've wondered the same thing. I'm still wondering.

Trolling motor thrust per pound of boat weight
Interesting this came up. A while back I spoke with a Tracker dealer and I had asked about the cost of upgrading to a 24v trolling motor. His response shocked me. He said yup I can sell you a 24v trolling motor and you'll be stuck with a 12v that you'll have to sell on your own. He then said that it's more of an endurance thing people are looking for when they upgrade. There's plenty of thrust in the stock 12v tm (speaking about the Tracker only at this point). He said a simple solution would be to get another battery and wire it (forgive my lack of knowledge on this one) in series or parallel and you have plenty of juice for the day and more. Now why would a salesman who could easily sell me a trolling motor, and possibly talk me into having them install it tell me this? There's a pretty good mark up on trolling motors and the labor rate these days he's missing out on a chunk of change. So there must be some truth to this from Motorguide.

Before Electronics?
I personally wouldn't run fast at all in an unknown body of water, even with a depth finder and you're on plane you run into 18" of water by the time you see it you're in trouble. GPS has been readily available for 30-40 years? What did fisherman do for tens of thousands of years before GPS? Fished the water! Trial and error my friend.

Having a new pond dug on our farm
I'm not sure how your winters are in Maryland but you might want to go down further than 5' so you don't have to worry about them dying in the winter if your winters are bad like mine.

The classic has already been fished this year. Check them out on black Friday and after leading up to Christmas.

Use of snap swivels?
I recently got the Booya Boo flex in my MTB pro box. So far so good, especially in these pike infested waters in Michigan.

NFL: Five At The Very Bottom Of The Barrel
I have you beat. In the Super Bowl era Tom Brady has more Super Bowl losses than the Lions have playoff wins! I'm from Michigan but I'm a Bills fan from the Jim Kelly, Don Bebe, Thurman Thomas days. There's been talk of the Lions making Stafford the highest played player in the NFL and he's hasn't done squat for them.

Fish the lake. I don't use a sonar unit (I will soon enough). I've fished blind my entire life. If I find a good spot I use a land mark as a reference point.

Oakland Raiders Sign Biggest Contract Ever
The only people that should be paid that kind of money are: 1: Military personnel 2: scientists looking for a cure to cancer, diabetes, and other deadly diseases 3: first responder (police, fire, EMS) I may have missed 1 or 2 but if you aren't going into a fire, firefight/war zone, laying your life on the line or coming up with a cure to a deadly disease you shouldn't be making that kind of money. Especially since 80% or more will be broke in 10 years or less. Just my 2 pennies on that.

20 Lb bass
It's more likely I'd catch a 21 pound bass in Michigan than convince my wife I needed 1 lure that cost $25

Post a photo a day!
That's a pretty cool picture. I remember the first time I ever saw an Eagle back 20 years or so ago they weren't too common in Central Michigan. Now I have a nesting pair down the road from me, and at one point this winter I saw at least one a week for 2 months strait. To some of you That's no big deal but in Michigan it's a big deal. My step mom saw her first one last year and she's in her 50's. I can honestly say I could never get bored looking at pictures of Eagles. If only they could sound like a loon we'd have the perfect super bird!

Finding Points of Interest
Just break down and order 2 of the 16 inch carbon units, that way no matter where in the boat you are you have a clear view of what's on the screen. On top of that the guy fishing 100 foot away from you will be happy too, because he'll be able to see what's under his boat too. ?
