About public domain water rights
I believe you're right on your understanding with the law. I'd double check with your DNR/conservation/warden officer. If they give you the thumbs up, I would as a show of good faith pick up any trash along your travels of the private pond. People can be crazy when it comes to private waters so be careful. I knew a guy who was legally duck hunting a small private lake with only two home owners. As the morning went on and the ducks were falling the other home owner came out in her boat and proceeded to pick up some recently shot ducks and decoys! Long story short she was charged with theft and possession of water fowl without a license!

SideView GPS?Sonor
Humminbird has autochart live where you can create your own bottom contours like Garmin. Both from what I've read are very user friendly. I've used humminbird but not Garmin.

Humminbird Introduces SOLIX Series
I'm guessing Wayne you're at the top of the list for one of these bad boys? Just looked them over and I'm heading to the store now to buy a mega millions in hopes of being able to pick one up! Seriously though, these look awesome! What will they think of next?

MLF Summit Cup
Me too! If I were having a bad day and the score tracker kept going off I'd probably crawl up in a little ball in the back of the boat and chew my fingers to a nub!

MLF Summit Cup
Absolutely do! I really enjoy this format, it's a lot more entertaining and seems like it would be easier to do with live TV.

Fantasy Fishing
For those who have played I did notice auto fill has been removed this year.

Fantasy Fishing
It's something to do to pass the time. It's totally free, grand prize is a boat. First prize for each tourney is $2,500 Bass Pro gift card. For those who have played I did notice auto fill has been removed this year.

Fantasy Fishing
I thought something was weird, I think I had mentioned that it was strange because they skipped the first tourney. Hopefully everyone that joined the BR crew see this or gets an email and rejoins. Any idea how many we were up to?

Fantasy Fishing
I received an email from Bassmaster fantasy fishing...there was a screw up on their end. We need to reset out line ups and we need to rejoin our group. It said the group was still there we just need to rejoin. Just wanted to make everyone who joined the Bassresource team aware!

small boat for non-gas lakes
There are plenty of tin boats that are stable for two big guys. Like BrianinMD said as long as you're at least 48" wide your good to go. I have a 14' Tracker 48" wide and I sometimes cram myself, 6 year old son, and wife in our boat. I stand almost the entire time with no issues what so ever, even with my son moving all around! Don't be afraid of the tin boats they are good and will last you a lifetime.

Right or left
Makes sense. That explains why I use right handed gear exclusively, I golf right handed, bat right, hockey right, yet I'm left handed. I've been bass akwards my entire life. I know no different so it's no big deal. Lol

Right or left
I was out ice fishing with my son and my step-dad Saturday and were using his gear, all his reels were reel left. He's the one who taught me to fish. I'm left handed and I use right handed casting and spinning! Apparently after moving out I switched from left handed spinning gear to right. He was confused, I was confused! Whatever works for you and is most comfortable use it.

Classic Pre Fishing
Hmmm I'm not sure how I feel about this either.

BASS Northern Open
Kind of sounds like what I was saying. Go with the Marshall experience if you can. It would be a great experience and worth every penny if they're close enough! I wish they were to me!

BASS Northern Open
If you're looking to get some insight, knowledge, or become a better angler I'd say hire a guide or see about the Marshall program when the Elites are close to you. From the stories I've read being a Marshall is worth every penny.

Line tangled in baitcaster
Loosen your drag and if it gets caught up either grab your lure or pull on the line with your hands instead of using your rod to pull it free.
-
Line tangled in baitcaster
Does it do it all the time or just if you get your lure hung up on something? I on occasion have this problem when I get hung up in the pads, like others have said it's digging in. If I get hung up I'll go get my lure or cast it into open water pull it out and reel with tension.

Who's cooler???
Since I'm from Michigan I have to go with KVD. If you watch the episodes of Zona's awesome fishing show with KVD you see a glimps of his true personality. When he's fishing tourneys he's all business.

LMB Fishing in Japan
My father in-law used to work in China and I always hoped he would pass through Japan and snag some lures for me. If I were you I'd buy buy buy. They have a lot of bass lures over there that haven't made it to the States. Your fellow Jersey boy Mike Iaconelli recently went to Japan and brought back some interesting lures. You can find the 2 part article on Bassmaster. Good luck and thank you for your service!

Female bass anglers?
Every time I go my wife goes. She's the best co-angler I've had. She's whoops me all the time. She sticks to her Senkos and pulls them in left and right. She's takes the bass off too!

Deeper fishfinder question
Are there any fishing electronics you don't have Wayne?

Largemouth Habitat
I just read an article in Bassmaster last night about if the fish released after weigh-ins if they return to the area they were caught. In a nutshell it depends how far away they were released from where they were caught. Some do some don't. To answer your question...it's quite possible they will be there in the spring. If you're targeting one particular fish or a couple they might they might not be there, but if you've found good habitat I'm almost certain if it held fish last year it will probably hold fish this year.

Your Winter Reading List - A Few Bass Fishing Books
I'd recomend Mike Iocanelli's Fishing on the edge. It gives tips and tricks after each chapter. What I liked most is it gives an inside look into his life starting from his first fish all the way up until about 10 years ago. How he climbed his way up the ladder, his struggles, how he almost walked away from the sport, and how fishing cost him his first marriage. A good in depth look into the life of a professional angler.
