Only fish main lake and secondary points that show fish on fish finder?
yeah im usually looking for structure or cover around the point.is there a rockpile on the point? does the channel sweep in next to a grass line? that type of thing if it looks good and is at the depth that fish seem to be using i fish it.

First time wacky rigger
like others have said use hiviz flouro and watch your line.

Zoom, done?
some baits it doesnt really matter. a ribbontail worm , tube etc to me the house brand at bps works fine. when you get into things like a kietech or hard baits to me the originals just out perform the knock offs.
-
Finesse C-Rig Rod Choice
i would use a medium heavy. the most important thing is it needs to be long 7foot minimum. 76 even better.

Zoom, done?
im with you everything bps gets near they turn into a crappy knock off product.i dont buy alot of stuff from the anymore because instead of the name brand they wanna sell me their low quality knock off. there are exceptions, the sticko is a pretty good bait and the xps grubs are good.

How can you tell when the bass are done spawning and are transitioning to post spawn?
bass dont all spawn at once. its natures way of protecting the spawn.at 63 i doubt the spawn is over probably more fish to come. i would continue to concentrte on shallow water as even the post spawn fish will hang around a little while before moving to deeper water.

Big worms yet?
you can use them year round but for me they shine in the dog days. july and august when its hot and the weeds are thick.

Fishing in milfoil
exactly. thats one of the things feider goes over in the video. you still fish the structure the grass is the bonus sweet spot. you still look for high spots, drains, sharp breaks right outside the grass. the look fot the thickest greenest grass in that area. and dont expext to load the boat right away. you may have to flip for 3 hours with nothing, then you hit that one little spot the size of a bathtub and catch 4 or 5 good ones in 6 casts.

Fishing in milfoil
all 5 of the lakes i fish have alot of milfoil. it basicly controls a75% of our patterns. the edeges can be good as you know. points turns cuts in the wedline. but learn to punch and flip it. seth feider has a great youtube video on punching and flipping milfoil.for me the more sun and hotter the better the flipping bite is.

Hummingbird install
the transdeucer will not fry. i use my unit to look at mapping mess with weigh points etc while the boat is in the garage. it wont hurt it. yes the boat needs to be moving about 3mph or so for the si to be most accurate.

the vmc neko and weedless neko are great wacky rig hooks.you cant set them wrong.you can swing for the fences.( incorrect and unneccesary) or lift and sweep. ( correct and all thats needed) either way will work.

Also favorite worm hooks?
gamakatsu and owner anywhere from1/0 to 5/0 depending on the bait

A Friday Night Question
exactly. if most of us could travel into the water with our lures and look around i think we would be amazed at the amout of time we spend fishing where there are no bass. ive read where rick clunn kvd and many of the other best fisherman in the world have said anyone can catch bass if you put them on the fish, the truly hard part of catching bass cosistently is finding them.this is especially true when the fish are not shallow on or near the bank. bingo. one of my fishing partners always says when were struggling, somewhere on this lake somebody is having the best day of their life. we need to figure out what pattern they are on and replicate it. me too the more i fish the more i find that one of the biggest keys is just grinding it out.last week i thought the fish were gonna be on fire. they werent. we fish our tails off for 6 hours and had 3 nice fish. so we kept fishing. we tried different thing different areas and different ideas. after 11 hours of hard fishing and thinking we ended up with 15 fish and 10 over 3 pounds. for no other reason than we refused to accept defeat.

Shocked by ned rig success?
if you read some of neds stuff he says the exact same thing.its not new he didnt invent it.its very similar to slider fishing etc. the only really new thing is the zman material and he used a mushroom head exclusively.we used those sting ray grubs by the basket full especially in cold water or after a cold front back in the 90s. some of us who are old and wiley still use them and the fish arent used to seeing them.
-
A good fluorocarbon to start out
i love shooter and invisx but i wouldnt put either one on a spinning rod over 10 pound.i like flouro on casting reels but prefer braid to flouro on spinning rods.
-
Shocked by ned rig success?
it will work fished like a shakey head but the swimming techniques give fish a different look. just think about how a minnow kind of hovers and glides.. try to make the bait act like that. also google ned kedhe 5 different ned retrieves. he goes into great detail.
-
Slug Go
listen whipper snapper.lol. they were the fluke and the senko before the fluke and the senko. when they first came out they absolutely mauled fish. they still work. use them like a fluke but maybe a little more subtle action. the dart , stop . sink, glide , dart. killer bait. the pink works really good spawn and post spawn.
-
Shocked by ned rig success?
lifted jigs ewg ned head. and use the lightest ones possible. also dont fish it like a shakey head. its more of a swimming gliding bait.

Boating fear has ruined fishing
calm down. think about losing your brother. life is short dont let fear take the joy out of it. its a boat a material possesion. anything you do to it can be fixed. get a push pole or similar you will get out of weeds. use a gps with maps. most shallow water will be marked. just go slow take your time and RELAX. the boat id gonna get scratches dings etc. that doesnt make it unusable etc. if im afraid to use something i bought i may as well just not buy it, remember theres a huge difference between used and abused. use your boat , try not to beat it up. stay on top of your maintenance take care of your outboard , trolling motor etc but dont be afraid to use and enjoy it.

depends on water temp and where but usually if itts windy you can get them to hit a moving bait. bladed jig, jerk bait crankbait etc.
