Replacing Crank Trebles...3Xd, 5Xd, 6Xd...what Size Do I Need?
I just replaced the hooks on a lot of my 3XDs. I put a 6 on the front and a 4 on the back, both of them short shanks. Going to see if it makes a difference with snags.

Kentucky Lake on kayak
Thanks for the suggestions guys! Is late October a good time to go? Will the bass be up shallow and active then? Or should I go earlier/later? Like I said, first time fishing these lakes!! I'm taking some new anglers and would like to get them catching some fish.

Kentucky Lake on kayak
Where is Cyprus bay? Is it on KY or Barkley? I'm going to be camping at LBL, so it would have to be either on the east side of KY or west side of Barkley.

Kentucky Lake on kayak
I'm looking to back country camp in LBL this fall and bringing my kayak. Either late October or early November. I've never fished Barkley or KY lake before. I have no clue which bays would be good. Since I'll be on a kayak, I'll be confined to one bay mostly. Plan to set up camp on the bay if I can find a good spot on or near one. Anyone have any suggestions on what bay(s) would be good? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Who has the best Buzz bait???
As others have said, my favorite is the cavitron. Don't have to burn it to keep it on top.

Fletcher Shyrock Trebles
I've been using the shryrock trebles for about a year now and I consider them to be worth the price. Hard to find a wide gap, short shank treble that is reasonably priced. They are sticky sharp and strong, but for the lower price, I believe you are sacrificing quality control. You'll find trebles here and there that have barbs that are almost down to the bend in the hook, or hooks that are welded all ****-eyed. Even knowing this beforehand, I still continue to buy them.

Siebert Outdoors first purchase
I'll admit, I don't consider myself a good jig fisherman, but I have an assortment of jigs that I've been rotating. The main ones are below. All-Terrain Rattling A.T. jigs Strike King AP jigs Boss wood walker jig heads with various skirts Booyah baby boo jigs Recently bought some *** NuJigs, but haven't fished them yet.

BPS or Academy House Brands
H20 Xpress is head and shoulders above BPS brands in my opinion. I have several H20 Xpress cranks that I use regularly, especially the CRS and CRS+. My BPS cranks never see the water anymore.

Storing "Clamshell" Plastics
I stopped buying Keitechs once I discovered the swing shad. 1/3 of the price and exact same action in my opinion. The tails are so soft and limber that I haven't noticed any deforming when storing them in a plano box. I've pulled out ones that were completely folded in half because it slid to one side, but were just fine when I rigged and fished them.

gearing for kayak
I'm a fellow kayak fisherman, and I run into this problem myself. "What if this color is killing it?? Should I bring spares??" "What if it stays overcast all day??" (resulting in bringing every topwater lure I own). My problem is I normally pack too many lures and it ends up slowing me down and getting in the way. What I've been trying to do recently is taking a box that has all my confidence/"go to" lures. Then I take 2-3 boxes of the lure that I either want to work on, or lures that I believe should work for the current season or conditions I'm fishing in. If I can't get anything going with the new techniques or "current conditions" boxes, then I have my box of confidence baits I can whip out. Hope this helps... It's a struggle.

Siebert Outdoors first purchase
I've noticed there are a lot of Siebert Outdoors fans here. I want to find out what all the hype is about. I looked over their website a bit and had no idea which jigs to get. What types are your favorites? Is the dredge hook worth the extra $$? I primarily fish jigs in the usual laydowns, brush, docks and weeds. Most often soft bottom, but do fish some hard bottom every once in a while. Any advice on what jig types to try would be great. Thanks in advance!

How often do you catch a big bass?
This is why I love this forum... Experienced anglers willing to help us less experienced beginners and willing to simplify it for us. I've been fishing for about 2 years and I've learned so much from this site.

What is the best and most value priced Hollow Body Frog that you do not have to squeeze the water out of?
In my opinion, the best value for your money is hands down the booyah pad crasher. I've found that at almost double the price, the popular spro bronzeye doesn't collapse as well as the pad crasher, which (I think) causes me to miss more fish. Although more expensive, my #1 favorite frog is currently the LiveTarget hollowbody frog. They are really soft and collapse well, but cost twice as much as a pad crasher. I just recently bought an EcoPro Tungsten Eco Toad to try out too. Haven't fished it yet, but it feels really soft and has trokar hooks. It's also more slender, so I'm hoping it's easier to walk than the LiveTargets.

Chatter Baits In Summer ?
How are you guys fishing them? For the life of me, I can't even get a bite on one. I can fish an area with a chatterbait and get nothing, then switch to a spinnerbait and pull fish. I've tried straight fast retrieves, slow rolling, yo-yo retrieve, popping my rod while retrieving... what's the secret???

Polarized Sunglasses: Which Are Least Obtrusive?
My wife got me a new pair of Costa's for father's day and I love them. These are obviously well above your $20 target, but man are they awesome. I've been an Oakley guy for years, but these have converted me. She got me the Tuna Alley with black frames and amber/green mirror lenses. These lenses do change the "view of the world" a little, but I definitely wanted that. Any structure or fish pop out from their background in the water more than standard polarized lenses. Colors are much more vibrant, almost like everything looks like it's in HD. The frame feels solid and well made, but light and comfortable at the same time. They were around $250, but I think they are totally worth it. Hands down the best pair of sunglasses I've ever owned.

Favorite Lure To Use in the Spring or Summer.
I love a buzzbait or spook in the mornings or evenings during the summer.
