  1. No way! Man, I loved him in most the movies he was in. Hilarious as Chet, the older brother in Wierd Science.
  2. Yep. Gotta be this bait. Only thing that would float on its side. I saw Academy came out with this knock off a few weeks ago. Wonder if it works well? I agree, the H2O express cranks are pretty good. They come with good hooks too. Can't beat the price either.
  3. I've been very pleased with Seaguar Invizx for all my cranking since I started using it 2 years ago. Very, very manageable fluoro and has a little stretch, but still very sensitive.
  4. I have a serious problem. Picked this up during a lunch hour trip to bass pro. Had 2 gift cards & traded in an old reel. Needed this stuff bout as much as a hole in the head.
  5. I like the wind. Fishing tends to be better. As long as it's 20 mph or less, I try to go on windy days, and all I got is a 12 ft jon boat. I just drop anchor and get to fishing.
  6. I'm about to do the same. I love my Shimano reels - got so many Curados & Citicas that I've lost count. But I'm about to pull the trigger on a Tatula CT. Handled one at Bass Pro other day & it felt great. Just wanna try something different. With the reel trade in & the 2 gift cards I got for Christmas, I should be able to get the Tatula & a few baits without spending any cash. ?
  7. I'd love to go, but doubt I'll be able to make it with my schedule and limited vacation time.
  8. Depends on the type of Sharpie. The big, wide tip sharpies have a strong chemical smell. I'm sure it's whatever organic solvent it used for the permenant ink. The smaller sharpies with a fine tip don't hardly have a smell that I can tell. And what little smell there is fades rather quickly. You can still cut the notch in the smaller sharpies to make it easier to apply to the line. It actually works well. I "camo'd" half a spool of braid on my reel once by alternating different greens and browns. Took a little effort, but it turned out well. Now I'm too lazy to repeat it, lol.

    Man, these things look awesome!
  10. These could also be used to decorate the tree. ?
  11. Redeye. Got others, but use Redeye more than 90% of time.
  12. I mostly use a bps extreme rod, MH with mod fast tip. Curado 7:1 reel with 12 lb Invizx.
  13. Zoom Mag II and Dead Ringer worms in the summer.
  14. I use a medium action/moderate for most of my small to medium size cranks. The flexible tip also helps with casting distance. You'd be surprised at how well you can bomb a 1/4 oz crank.
  15. That was an unbelievable day Martens had. I thought he was slaying em in period 1, until he started catching all the 3-4 pound smallies at the end of period 2 thru period 3. It was like a once in a lifetime kinda day. Surely he takes showers occasionally. Can you imagine how he smells after running a marathon? He is kinda an odd fellow. And the whining thing, most of them do that to a certain extent - especially when they aren't catching anything but the score tracker keeps lighting up. Some are just way worse than others. Now ole Suggs seems to like whining even when he's catching em, lol. Still the best fishing show on TV. Making the cut to advance to next round always builds up some drama at the end.
  16. I agree with everyone else. I think the solunar tables can be a helpful tool, but are secondary to other conditions happening, mainly weather. Now that being said, if you can get the right weather, time of year, and time of day to all align with the peak day & prime fishing time..... it can be lights out. I've gone on a day that was pre-frontal in late spring with cloudy skies and some wind and it was the peak fishing day for month with the prime time being close to sunset. Absolutely slayed em! It was like the perfect storm of bass fishing. Won't say the solunar peak data affected it all that much, but I bet it helped. Likewise, going fishing on a peak day according to the Astro Tables but in post front, blue bird sky conditions with no breeze....... gonna be a tough day.

You might have a new calling. Nice job.
  18. Ha! Now that's funny.
  19. Thanks for all the ideas guys. Of course, I started this thread as a joke. Would love to fish more, but who amongst us wouldn't. As far as the Breaking Bad references, no thanks. I'm a chemist by trade, but not that kinda chemist. It always cracks me up when people I know think I already know how to cook meth or make some other drug. I wouldn't have the 1st clue. And of course, would never engage in anything illegal. I have to say........ I do like the idea of everybody donating a dollar to my cause. Maybe I should start a Go Fund Me site. ????
  20. Well yeah. But the big fishing classic sale starting soon. May wait til then. Of course, the Pyramid is a much nicer store.
  21. RES the lipless crank I throw 95% of the time. It just flat out catches fish.
  22. I like the idea of letting our Congressmen pay for it. At least it'll be something they did worthwhile for a change. ?
  23. Same here. I get gift cards every birthday & Christmas. At least I can use them & trade in a rod or reel, then get a new one with minimum investment. It's a shame the sale event isn't what it used to be. One good thing about the event this year at the Memphis Pyramid store - KVD is making an appearance.
  24. So, I've decided I wanna fish full-time. Not tourney fishing, but just full-time fishing for fun. Unfortunately, I'll have to quit my job so I'll need to find a way to fund this endeavor. Besides winning the lottery (which will never happen) or finding me a sugar mama (which my wife will not allow), what other options do I have for financially supporting this dream? I need ideas! P.S. Please feel free to send donations to "Help wdp Fun Fish for Life". These donations are not tax deductible. ?
