  1. @rebranger I saw you replied to the other thread & meant to reply. I see you're in the Tunica area so you're pretty close to me in Southaven. I'd definitely be interested in meeting up some time. All I have to offer is a lil 12 ft jon boat tho, lol. But I got a few spots to fish, mostly small lakes. Shoot me a pm & we'll try to get something worked out. My only concern is you might be a Rebel fan from your user name. ? Warning to ya. I bleed maroon, Bulldawg thru & thru. Lol. But might make for some good hearted ribbing on the water. ? P.S. If you can meet up with @roadwarrior at any time, I'd say def do so. From the little time I've been on these message boards, I've deduced he def knows his stuff.
  2. Dang! How much ya'll think that catfish weighed?
  3. I've never seen a bass eat a duckling live, only in videos. But I have seen bass try to eat a few water moccasins. And not just little ones, like 4 footers! ?
  4. MLF is by far the best tourney fishing to watch on TV. Love the format, love that every scorable fish counts, and the live score tracker def throws most the anglers off & puts them in spin control mode. The best part is that locations are kept secret until it's time to fish. No prefishing, no practice. They just gotta go & catch em. Ive recorded & watched every show the last 2 & half years. That was Kevin Short that cut in front of Watson. I think if Watson had run to the docks with his big spoon sooner in period 3, he'd have won, like last year.
  5. Another color I've had good success with in stained to slightly muddy water is Midnight Chartruese. It's half black on top with a glitter chartruese color on bottom.
  6. I've had really good results with Bluegill Flash, Houdini, and Watermelon Magic.
  7. I'm usually busy all week with work. Weekends are typically my free time to fish. At least until summer when it's daylight until 8 pm or so. That time of yr usually affords me a few hrs fishing in my neighborhood when I get home. But we'll work something out one of these days. You ever get weekends free?
  8. Thanks for offer. The problem is I can't seem to find the right size tips for my rods at any of the local sporting goods stores like bass pro, dick's, Academy, etc. Everything looks like the eyelets are too big even if it will fit properly on end of rod. I could probably find the correct tips for my rods online like at Mudhole, but been too lazy. Other problem is my OCD condition, HA! I took one tip off & then also mistakenly took off the old wrap below it - not realizing it didn't really need to be removed. So I'd like somebody that knows what they're doing re-wrap the tip so it looks nice & neat like when it was new. Like I said, OCD. Lol.
  9. Cool. Thx for info. We def need to meet up one of these days.
  10. I'm right handed but I do the same. Just the way I grew up fishing & got used it. And it actually feels perfectly natural.
  11. Lol. I saw that on Mike & Mike this morning. You just can't fix stupid. ?
  12. Very nice. Sounds like a very productive day especially for winter time. Don't think I'm familiar with those ponds. I'll have to check them on google maps.
  13. I hope you get some replies cause I'm in same boat & live in Southaven. I have 2 St Croix rods that I need the line guides in the tip replaced.
  14. +1, it's a pretty good bait. Walks easy enough, decent hooks, decent colors & doesn't cost much.
  15. Those Ribbit Double Take hooks are awesome. Hardly ever lose a fish with them & it's the only buzzfrog hook I use. I even use them on Horny Toads, although they are a bit finicky & it takes a bit more effort to get em to fit on the body. But they work & fit perfectly on the Ribbit Frog.
  16. Well, getting into a debate over it again isn't cover any new ground that wasn't already discussed back in 2015. Personally, I'm not a fan of it. Again, and to agree with earlier comments, I think MLF is doing it right. Keep everything a secret til pretty much the last minute. And may the best fisherman win.
  17. Great game but hate Dallas lost. Was really cheering more for Dak than Dallas per se.
  18. Yeah, I'm reading thru the 2015 thread that AJay gave me. I didn't realize it was legal. Interesting. I was unaware of this. Thx for info. Not really sure how I feel about this and obviously didn't know it was legal. Hmmmm.
  19. Holy Cow! So Casey Ashley was actually caught doing this?
  20. I like watching the Elites & FLW, but I agree 100%. MLF is the best bass fishing competition there is. Let's you know which of these guys really know how to catch em no matter the circumstances. And it's def the most entertaining to watch. So, is this an actual photo of said angler doing this? I can't determine from the pic who it is.
  21. Invizx is only fluoro I use, no matter which lb test.
  22. I've snatched up about 4 or 5 of these on sale the last couple months. I'm excited to give them a try when it warms. I saw they also just came out with a wakebait that's now available on TW. Thinking about grabbing a few of them too.
  23. Oh my gosh!!! You beat me to it. Had almost same thing happen! I had just gotten my Citica back from being cleaned & serviced with a few upgrades, I mean that thing was smooth & would cast a country mile. I was so excited that I bought a brand new rod to pair it with. Went fishing the next week at a local private lake with a buddy & I'm fishing a 5" hollow-bodied swimbait. We're hitting some coves fishing cover that residents have sunk around docks & banks. Doing well & catching some good fish. All the sudden I hook into a tank. I set the hook hard & feel like I didn't even turn the fish. Simultaneously, the reel seat cracks & my line breaks. I'm trying to reel very fast to take up slack thinking the fish is swimming towards me, not realizing what happened. All the sudden my reel falls over and I make a mid air swipe at it to grab it before it falls. I missed ? and plop! That's my reel falling in the water. I yell, NO!!!!! And my buddy goes what was that splash? I hold up my rod, with an empty reel seat. He laughed & laughed & said no way? I was so mad. ?? Needless to say, the rod was returned & got my money back. The reel, well it's gone forever. No idea how big the fish was. But it felt like a giant!
  24. Funny thing is, after reading that wiggle wart thread I started thinking I maybe still got a few old ones somewhere. I might have to go see if I can dig em out & go fish em. Ha ha.
  25. Cool. Think I might give mine a fair shake this spring & keep casting til I start catching em. I can't wait for the pre-spawn to begin.
