Georgia Jeff, your observation about the hook point being in line with the hook eye is why I don't use that style of hook much. It causes missed hooksets. When I do need the wide gap hook for fat baits, I open the bend some to expose the point more.

The lengthwise line at the middle of the transducer is supposed to be even with the bottom of the hull according to the installation instructions. That would make 1/2 of the bulk of the transducer below the hull. Most setups like that require the rear end to be tucked down a couple of degrees. If you mounted the bracket correctly, you will have the vertical adjustment needed to get the proper water flow across the transducer. After you get frustrated with trying to get it to work properly, you can just epoxy it on the inside of the hull. Good luck.

If you have it mounted on the step up which is above the drain, it is not even wet when underway. If you must have a transom mounted one, it has to be on the lowest part of the hull next to or on the pad. another note: it also has to be positioned so it won't hit the trailer bunks. If you don't have it mounted so that is a possibility, you have it on the wrong part of the hull.

I add weight to the rod butt to balance each rig according to the reel weight /style and how I hold that particular rig. I also balance it according to the presentation I use with a particular rig.

I got one of those also and put a plywood floor on it and made two removable bunks of 2" X 6" with carpet for when I used it for a 10' jon boat. I used it for two trips and about 3 weeks later, I was going to haul some plywood and the wheel bearings had rusted solid. SOOOO- if you plan on getting the axle wet, change the seals to the boat trailer type and add a spring pressure/lube cap. You can also order a boat trailer axle and just change it. Cheap and shortcut doesn't apply when it comes to boat trailers.

I like the keeper on the hook eye but don't like the hook style. I bought then for fishing with tubes which they were designed for.

I use the Uni-Knot for all connections except when using a Tx rig with a sliding sinker, then I use the Palomar.

I use them pretty much the same as the other replies. With the Devil's Horse, I reverse the pitch of one of the props so it spins in the opposite direction of the other. It seems to disturb more water that way.

Don't worry about the bearings. You aren't rotating the shaft when it is stored.

OK back to the 10" Power Worm. I fish that size worm either Tx rigged or weightless. I don't particulaly like any of the Power Baits but do use 10" -14" ribbon tail worms. An unweighted big worm looks like a snake swimming- a good presentation in grass and pads.

TrippyJai, when you get as old as I am you may find you have collected lots of stuff. I carry about 1/3 of the rigs I have, I just change some of them around based on the seasonal patterns and bodies of water.

I'm going tomorrow with morning temp about 40 and afternoon temps in the 60's and water temp (I guess will be) low to mid 50's. Fishing for bass only in probably less than 12' depths. I bought the lemon shad color (one of the colors is just Yellow) because a member of a bass club I used to be in recommended it for the super clear lake we were fishing in early Spring. He won the tournament and I came in second only using that color. I have since used it with success and over time have found that any color works just as well as any other. I bought all those colors plus about 10 more just to prove a point to those fishing with me that think color makes a difference. I'll catch a few on one color and if the other person is not catching any and wants to try it, I give them that color and use another. I usually still catch more than they do as it's the presentation plus an accurate cast, not the color, that produces the results. As far a the number of colors available, most dealers like Bass Pro do not stock all of them. The Zoom catalog has most of them listed, but there are some called "Special Run" colors that are not always listed. The moccasin blue is a special run color that I use a lot because of its high flake content that makes it real soft for weedless wacky rigging. The lemon shad color one is at the bottom of the picture and is the really light yellow one below the solid yellow.

I was just getting my boat ready for fishing tomorrow and something reminded me of a Trick worm color you should try sometime. Take a bubblegum Trick worm and dip 1/2 into chartreuse soft plastic lure dye. It will give you an orange color for that half. Rig it wacky style and you will basically have two different color finesse worms. Very effective during the prespawn and spawn as you can see it very well in most water colors. I mostly use the unscented dye, but the garlic scented works just as well. edited, forgot one point, don't prepare more than a couple, if any, ahead of time as the dye will migrate up the worm and also affect adjoining worms in the package. I just do mine on the water.

Here is evidence that refutes the "floating worm" hype. I dropped each Zoom Trick worm in one at a time and waited about 15 seconds between worms. I stirred them up three times with 5 minutes between stirs. This picture is about 10 minutes later giving them time to migrate to the surface. If you notice the orange color one, it is not a Zoom, but an Original Danny Joe's "Floating" worm. The "Floating" word with quotation marks as I typed it is exactly how it is on the package. At no point during the test did any of them exhibit the tendency to float. Some of them had a slower sink rate than the others during the stirring process. The fluid in the container is real water, and not some miracle fluid that overcomes floating objects.

Jig Man, the specific gravity of a charged battery is about 1.26> when measured with a hydrometer. You will need a voltmeter to check for the 12.7 volts.

The Daiwa Samurai Braid is better than any mentioned. It is the 8 strand weave and is not stiff like the Fireline Braid. It is very smooth and also has a smaller diameter than comparable strength braids.

If the seat mount has the spring on it, just remove the spring and put a washer in it's place.

I'll be there on the 9th also. Hopefully the somewhat warming trend will get them active. If you see any carp activity in the shallow areas, some bass will probably be shallow too.

Yes, I would. I add a 3" white Mister Twister curly tail grub or a shortened body white Zoom twin tail trailer on that size lure.

For your height, I would suggest the pole that does not have the seat mount included as those are longer than the ones that do have it.
