  1. While I was fishing with the above described tactic I was just targeting bass and did land a few spots. I think your setup sounds good. If you are used to dropshotting smaller baits then I feel like when I dropshot a stickworm it feels really heavy for dropshotting.
  2. Best tip for not throwing $19+ into the lake is a good strong knot and some mend it glue.
  3. For this method I like using flukes, senkos, brush hogs, lizards, and sometimes little paddle tail swimbaits like a keitech.
  4. I also use the keitech fat swing impacts and they work well but I have also used the Berkley grass pig and the zoom swimin fluke. I do prefer the keitechs though.
  5. What are your best producing pond lures to use during the winter? I fish a lot in ponds that are <10 ft. And fishing slows down in the winter.
  6. Yea, never in lakes though. I have used them in ponds with trickworms and small craws and they have produced during cold months.
  7. Berkley flicker shad strike king finesse jig with a yum craw chunk senko texas rigged weightless 3 inch flutter spoon drop shot with small finesse worms All have produced multiple nice fish for me in northern waters
  8. True but when fishing hard baits established around cover the will get hung and thats where it becomes expensive, losing 3-4 cranks one day which can add up to 60$ or more.
  9. St croix mojo bass rods are mostly pretty heavy rods that would be good for that. For froggin I would want a 7'-7'3" rod with a good heavy backbone
  10. For under 150 look at the duckett gost, no. *** is really inexpensive, dobyns, ardent, shimano makes a nice rod around 90$, st. Croix All really good just find what you like
  11. My favorite for finesse on spinning tackle is 15 pound braid to a 6-10 foot long florocarbon leader, usually 10 lb floro. Although maybe got heavier floro for shakey heads but that's just because I like fishing heavier line with them.
  12. Use the wacky tool with o-rings for wacky rigging. Use off brand stick baits ( bps, yum dingers, big bite baits, etc) instead of GYB senkos. Fish less with hard baits as they are generally more pricey than soft plastics or jigs.
  13. The Shim1on core 50 and curado 70 throw light lures great
  14. Goods rods but when I went to go buy one I just couldn't bring myself to pay 180 for the e6x while there was a duckett for a lot cheaper and the duckett was lighter.
  15. If you are opting for cheap go to cabelas and look at their fish eagle 50 rods if they are on sale they can be as cheap as 35$. They make lots of different actions and lengths.
