Recent frog thread got me thinking.I love fishing frogs but i never fish toads.I think i have one pack of Zoom Horny Toads and thats about it.I was looking at the Luck-E-Strike Frantic Frog and the Gambler Cane Toad.What soft toads do you guys use?? Also do you guys fish them on you H frog rod,MH jig rod or say a shorter M topwater rod??

I use straight braid all the time.Just use mono backing or tape on the spool to prevent line slip.I have never used a leader.

Im currently using Sunline Defier Armilo for topwater.I love it so far.Casts smoothly,not super quiet but i can deal with that.Not outrageously priced.Use line conditioner because it has a better memory than an angry female. Based off the title of the post id say hes looking for line suggestions for small cranks and topwater.

@lmbfisherman The only difference between the PQ1 and 2 is the weight reduction.The PQ2 comes in at 7.3 and the Tat CT at 7.4 which is a wash.Ill take the effortless Magforce-Z braking system over the dual braking system on the PQ all day long.I also love the TW system.Its a no brainer which is the superior reel.Not saying the PQ isnt a good reel,because it is.I am saying its not in the same conversation as the Tat CT for the same price.

I picked up an Abu Garcia Vigilante 7' MM from walmart for 30 bucks not long ago.Id check there before shelling out more.Your right it doesnt have to be expensive.My crank setup is the cheapest of all my builds.

Let me ask you this.Have you ever used the Tatula CT or the PQ1?

Personally id opt for a 7' MH fast action rod for this purpose.Look at the St.Croix Mojo Bass line(130$) or the Dobyns Fury line(110$) that gets alot of love around here.Right at your 180$ limit is the new Daiwa Tatula Elite rods and the G.Loomis E6X might be worth checking out too.
