  1. top water is the best!! nice fish, that's a fun day. congrats!!
  2. great day with your dad! best of luck in the tourney.
  3. welcome from Indiana. I just send my pics to my email then download and save on my lap top in picture folder. when you click on pic in folder it should show you an aspect ratio box , click on it and resize to what you want. hit done and save. I usually have to choose 4x6 to keep them from loading sideways. I'm no genius at this and there may be an easier way. I travel right past you several times a year on my way to lay lake.
  4. welcome from Indiana. show us a georgia giant!!
  5. been thru your situation a couple of times. once when a ball bearing factory went to japan, and once when the rail road cut the cabooses off trains. there is work available to all that really want to. best of luck finding your next adventure ,hate to here an honest working man loosing a job. hang in there, the good thing about fishing is the personal time to think.
  6. sorry to hear about your loss. but envy your treasures. something to be very proud of. I personally would never part with them.
  7. I like that on the end of my pole!! wouldn't even care what state I was in. or the record. and I would deffinatly post pics, LOTS OF THEM!! they probably would be out of focus, because I would be shaking so bad. or my huge smile would get in the way.
  8. congrats on the double PB. sounds like a fun day!!
  9. she does do name tags or small sayings of encouragement .she has a big heart and likes giving to, and showing love to others. we recently had a 50 year old mom pass from cancer. she took all her tee shirts and made quilts for all 3 of her kids. ill be the first to say that I am very fortunate to have her. she will even go fishing with me from time tot time!! not telling how bad she beats me tho!!
  10. I was a mentor for a young man at our church program. it its gratifying. and with all the bad stuff out there, they need some good advice and wisdom. I'm sure if you choose this, any young person would be lucky to get you as there big brother. funny thing is sometimes they may end up teaching you as well. thanks for caring for kids!
  11. great job young man .NICE FISH!!! when you do start your guide service, remember the discount for us forum members
  12. minnows are hard to beat. I also use slider head jigs with a white grub3". and thin wire jig hooks with smaller bubble gum with charteuse tail grub2" I also like 10 to 12' poles for easier dipping in those holes or edge of weeds. it lets you pick your minnow straight up and down so as not to get hung up as bad. not sure how the long pole will be in a kayak tho. show us dinner!!
  13. that will be a great day! they will think you are the greatest grandpa in the world. now if we see pics of man tied up in fishing line and hooks in him we will know who it is!! cudos on wanting to take them fishing
  14. one will work ,you just have to tie more. the three setups you mentioned would be a great setup. not to much to carry around small ponds, or put in small boat. good luck, for 13 looks like you are getting off to a good start.
  15. nice info , good looking fish. when your catching fish like that you seem to forget about the cold.
  16. welcome from Indiana, ask anything, these guys are great help

this is a bass quilt my wife made for my cousin.
  21. great advice given her young man. my wife used to just keep my pocket change from each day. that was our kids Christmas.point being. that one soda or coffee you might buy each day can really add up. self control !
  22. the Tennessee river sure looks enticing when I cross it. have also seen the water around Decatur looks cool as well
  23. best of luck to your wife. you do realize that if I am ever in your area its gonna cost me money. them girls have a worse addiction than ours. quilting not for me! I do work on her machines ,but haven't figured out how to tie that machine on the end of a pole
  24. communication with each other is the key. and honestly listen. my dad once told me that is why we have 2 ears and one mouth , we are supposed to listen twice as much. do you really understand her ? does she really understand you? me and my wife have totally different passions, but yet find time for each other and care about each others passion. put her first and if she truly cares about you in the same way she will also put you first. be excited about each other. and a little help from above never hurts. quit worrying I'm sure you will find plenty of time to fish . long story short ,sit down and prioritize things . what truly is most important to you? best of luck to you and her.
  25. i'll bet that was a scream like ike moment!!
