  5. We were setting at dinner tonight and he looked at me and asked when we were going to go fishing. I told him that it was to cold and that alot of the lakes had ice on them. He said that we could just walk on the ice and still go. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry at this comment
  6. Only time I use them is if the water is Real muddy and I need to create a bigger profile. then it is only a curly tail grub in 4 inch.

  10. I can't remember the first fish I ever caught but there are pics of me floating around from when I was 3-5 years old with rod in hand and fish on the end. One of my favorite is the first bass I caught while really trying to catch one. I grew up crappie fishing mostly but when I was around 12 my Dad got me my first bait caster. I was out at Cave Run lake and had spent most of my free time learning how to cast with it so I was really excited to give it a try for real, so the first thing I did was tie on a black shad 7 inch culprit worm and made a cast off the end of the dock. When I was dragging it along the bottom a felt a tick and the line jumped out to the side. I set the hook and started to reel. When I got it in I had a 17 inch Spot on the end of my line and was hooked for good.
  11. Welcome and good luck this season
  12. When I was younger my Grandfather always had 3 Christmas trees haning of the dock where his house boat was. We would put them in in January and by spring they would be producing plenty of fish. What I have read and heard on other sites is that the oils in the needles make the weird scent that the fish don't like but it doesn't take them long to fall off and then start producing. Hope this helps
  13. I use jigs and spinnerbaits. I start about 3/8 th and work my way up, but this year I am going to try and go with some lighter weight and see if there is any difference.

  20. I know what you mean. I was standing outside of work the other morning waiting for the snow to melt and was practicing flippin and pitchin. ;D
  21. I never go out bass fishing using live bait, but I have gone crappie and bluegill fishing and ended up getting a few that way. The one time I can remember ever targeting Bass with live bait was in Florida with a guide and we used live shiners with him. I found it slow and kind of boring but he did everything for you but set the hook and reel it in. Wasn't that much fun.
  22. I have a couple of questions about this. What colors do you use and how are you rigging them? I mostly use spinnerbaits in the spring but I want to try to increase my chances and have seen alot of posts saying that people are using them and was just wondering about this. Thanks
  23. Welcome to the site.
