I like my shimano spinning reels(actually all my shimano reels ;D) but I have had good sucess out of the Diawas I have had in the past.

Lots of water and usually a Gatorade or two. Atleast one sandwich varies what type. I also usually carry one apple to eat.

Welcome to the site. The only two I know is the first one and fourth one. There is always some kind of observer in the boat that sends the info in during the classic. Most of the other tournaments there is a co angler in the boat with them. It is a way to police the sport and to keep the anglers honest. In Ikes book he mentions having ot use his cell on a number of occasions while out on the boat and most of the guys who they have talked to that were at a tournament when there wife was about to give birth carried the phone around plus said that the wife had another # were they could be reached so I am guessing that the majority have them at all times.
