  1. I'm a believer in using the right size hook. It can be done with to small of a hook but then you have a good one come off and that's enough for me.
  2. When I'm fishing a senko with a small bullet weight this is my standard approach. I cast out and let it sink to the bottom on semi slack line, then with my rod pointed towards the senko I take up the slack and lift my rod tip up hopping the senko, if I feel anything while I lift the rod, whether the senko stops, or if something bumps it or it jerks or it gets tap - tapped I'll quickly drop the rod tip take up slack start to lift the rod back up and if it's still there I drive the hook home with a solid hookset. Keep in mind I'm watching my line the whole time and if starts moving I know it's a fish for sure.
  3. My wife's grandpa has Costas prescription sunglasses and they're cool.
  4. If I really think there is a bass there or if the guy running the trolling motor is messin around and I'm waiting on him then I'll put in there a few times otherwise if there is plenty of other targets then probably just once.
  5. Grew up pond fishing here and there but when I was 19 my boss took me out in his bass boat on a lake and I was forever changed.
  6. Mister Twister electric filet knife.
  7. There is a difference between helping someone out by giving them tips on how to use gear and tackle and what gear and tackle is used when and where and pointing them in the right direction. That's different compared to lazy people that don't won't to do any of the work and want you to just tell them everything after you've worked hard to and put in time to figure that out. It's also different if 2 people who go out and do their homework share info with each other.
  8. My mom got a new rooster a few days ago! He's a funny looking little guy!
  9. Been wondering this myself. Weighted wacky jig head vs wacky hook with bullet weight vs just wacky hook.
  10. I'd blame the wife. As soon as you say I canceled the trip she'll smile evilly and hand you a honey-do list! Lol I hate having a trip of any kind planned and then weather jack everything up.
  11. Have 3 or 4 kids. I've heard that's a very time consuming hobby that will keep her busy all day. She won't be complaining about being bored with 3 or 4 little hoodlums running around Lol! Best of luck hope it works out for ya.
  12. Something like, "warning, just because this car has some resemblance to that of a sports car does not make you a Nascar driver!" would be nice
  13. 6'6" MH rod, braided line, 4/0 EWG hook 1/16 oz bullet weight (not pegged) and a 5" senko Texas rigged.
  14. Be sad to catch a world record and not realize it and just eat it. Those do look big.
  15. Nice! You got to love those explosive hits!
  16. Yeah we need to see a pic.....
  17. Thats the crazy part is I have chickens about 100-150 yards from where that pic was taken but it hasn't messed with them yet. My hen house is pretty secure but if he really tried he could probably get in. I plan to trap it next winter....I figure it's just a matter of time till the chickens start disappearing.
  18. Caught this fox 2 night's ago on my trail camera behind my house. Not real rare but still neat!
  19. Would the suggestions mentioned above still be good choices on clear river smallies?
  20. ^^^ And that's why they have mail in rebates. Hoping you will forget to mail it in.
  21. Hey that's a slick video Glenn! I'll get me some of those. Have you ever considered doing a vlog?? Like maybe you could film yourself eating a sandwich.....nah just messin with ya, that's what I like about your videos....straightforward no nonsense and you LEARN something!
  22. We was on a float trip one time on a river in Missouri and my little sister had picked out some pink worms to fish with and then the next thing you know she was lighting up the smallies! Everybody was wanting some of them pink works then.
  23. I have not fished a grub a lot but when I have fished it I have used the lift it up and let it drop method. I have had success with it but it's not weedless so when I can catch them on a T-rigged senko I go that direction because I lose very few of those.
