  2. Would you use a Split Shot Grub/C-Rig over a Slider Head Rig?
  3. @JG233 Tough fishing at Bartlett this weekend. Lake is almost at capacity and the water had a milk chocolate tint to it from all the water (Verde River) being released from Horseshoe Reservoir. We launched out of SB Cove and had zero luck along the Yellow Cliffs. We then focused on taking the yaks to secluded coves where the water was warmer and to avoid the annoying debris floating all over the main channel. Only managed one and she bite very close to shore on a RES 1/4 oz chrome w/ blue back lipless crank. YoYo did the trick. Glad I didn't get skunked in less than ideal conditions. Thought I'd share the report.
  4. Baby Bass as well.
  5. Zara Spook Jr, Pop-R (baby bass), soft jerkbaits right below the surface, squarebills, and wake baits (Baby one-minus)
  6. This was from yesterday. I tried everything at a highly pressured pond and always resort to this from my panic box. They work day and night. My dad used the same grub and caught a nice Channel Catfish today. The 3" grub has Sky rocketed to my top 3 favorite lures of all time.
  7. I use a #1 Gamma Roboworm rebarb for Zoom tiny flukes, Roboshad, and 4.5 " Roboworm straight tails
  8. Taking the kayak this weekend and have only fished Bartlett for flathead catfish. Any advice for Bass and Crappie this time of year? Thank you in advance.

Here's my secret and I catch a lot in the canals and little ponds. Shhhhh Buy some mulberry dough bait. Mix it with white bread. That dough bait is your adhesive k? Small mosquito hook. Slip bobber Rig. Avoid using split shots or any weights. You can do that concoction on a fly rod too and have a blast. Good luck
  10. Do you have difficulty casting this light rig without a bobber? I want to try this.

  12. I HATE P-Line Fluorclear if you're living in hot conditions, like AZ It will frizzle up and get limp. At least with my experience. It was great when I lived in other states. I'm experimenting with Sniper this season and see if that holds up.

We can dream right?! Haha. This clip inspired it
  14. Thanks for the reply! Great post!
  15. I'm a simpleton with stickbaits in terms of colors. GYS 5" Green Pumpkin with Black Flake #297 is my vote.
  16. Welcome board! I'm from Albuquerque, NM. Living in Phoenix right now. Elephant Butte is on fire! Check out Fish Enchantment online too. My buddy designed that forum for NM anglers. We are all here to help.

Dream list: Tarpon from a kayak Taimen on a flyrod wading in Mongolia Dorado from a kayak Wel Catfish from a kayak Tigerfish from the Nile River Mako Shark on a flyrod
  18. You better get a free TW sticker ha! That reel looks money
  19. Hawg absolutely crushed this response I couldn't agree more.
  20. Keltonz, congrats on that PB! Beautiful fish! As a shore angler myself, do you feel like tying your hook 2' above the dropshot weight is the bare minimal length since it's not a vertical presentation being on shore and all. I think I've been tying my hook too close to the weight from drop shotting from shore. I fish in 6-8 ft average depth of water.
  21. Darren - How do you like your Native Ultimate 12?
  22. I love Native kayaks! I own a Native Ultimate FX15t (tandem) and it was one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. They are top quality and are sooooo easy to customize due to the rail system. You can buy screwballs that attach to the rails and possibilities are endless. I have a transducer, attached to a screwball, that runs off the side and the fishfinder is attached to a screwball too. Rode holders attach to screwballs too, along with a GoPro arm too. It's such an addicting hobby. You can customize a Native with less $$$ than a Hobie too (I'm going to loose some friends with this comment ) Don't worry either............I'm not sponsored either by native haha. It's just what happens when you deliver quality products. Hobie has a cult following......I get it. The Slayer looks sweet! I'm a very happy Native customer and I often convert my tandem to a solo in minutes.
  23. Why do you remove the split rings before attaching a snap? I've always just attached my snap directly to the split ring, but I'm curious if you've found it helped.
  24. So, a white ice Zoom Super Fluke Jr is one of my favorites (day and night). That's already a part of my rotation. 2017 YTD PB came off one mated with a white chatterbait - at night. White has been the color for me at night bc of that contrast point that some mentioned earlier today.
  25. I laughed at myself this morning when I was analyzing all that went wrong from last night. I tied it in the dark and obviously wasn't paying attention. Should've adapted earlier when I didn't land that 2.5 - 3 bounder (estimate). Road Runner makes a 1/4 oz with 1/0 hook that should improve things. I think I was using a 1/8 with #1 size or 1/16 oz with #4 hook last night.
