Yea you want alot of flex in your rod if your going to use it for cranking. If you use to stiif of a rod it will just rip the crankbait out of the bass.

His line isnt the problem. Its that chipped guide on the rod. I dont know how to fix it but it does damage your line alot. But yeah if you just got it dont try to fix it just take it back.

I would say about 3 pounds it is a thin fish..

I had the same problem with my curado 100d and my gl2....It feels weird when screwing it down but i havnt had the reel come loose yet while reeling in fish.

I got a curado in June. Ever since i got it, it had a little backplay. At first it didnt bother me but now i really wish it had no back play. Is their any hope that I could get BPS to exchange my reel with another one. Or is it to late????

ive broken a rod of theirs before. I took it back a week later no questions asked or no complaining to do they just took it off me and gave me a new one. Didnt even check for a receipt.

thats another reason wyh I like baitcasters better than spinning because the spinning reel knots are to hard to get out.

try to find 10 dollars or save 10 dollars and get an abu revo sx

The way you mentioned you are fishing a baitcaster would be better because you can put heavier line on one. I personally like baitcasters better because they are comfortable but my spinning reel does a lot of dropp shotting for me.

i would go find a new rod for the baitcaster. And just forget the ugly stick.

It is a good reel. I also have a curado 100. The curado is lighter and alot smoother but i can cast a mile with the quantum.
