A fast tip is more stiff. A moderate tip wpuld be flimsy like a crankbait rod.

I might get this depth finder for x-mas. what do you all think of it.

I got into the warm side by just meeting people who own land on it and they can give you permission to launch at their private ramp. I havnt been on the hot side though for about 2 years now.

For the rod you would probably want something around 7 foot and at least MH or H action. As for the reel baitcasting would be best but you said you want a spinning reel. I would feel a variety to see what reel you like. And line I usually use a 20 lb braid.

Micropterus basically covered it all perfectly. Just pick which one sound more like your kind of reel. But I would really reccomend feeling them both in person before picking.

I mainly fish jigs on rocky banks and steep drop offs and brush. Which style jig mold would be best for each style???

I second that. I snowboard every weekend and when the season is over fishing will be back in action.

I wasnt in the tournament but i went out saturday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Me and my dad were pretty succesfull. I never fish jigs and caught my first jig fish ever. He was small but I was proud of it. About 5 mins later I caught my second jig fish and he went 16 in. If we were in a tournament our 5 fish would of been 12 lb 2ozs. BF was 5 lbs 2 ozs caught by my dad. This is the little 12 incher first jig fish ever. Its not a fair comparison to the tournament you fished because I beleive we got better hours because we covered the afternoon. But I was wondering what place we would of got if these were our tournament results in that tourney?
