Music While You Fish?
It sucks in the summer you cant hear the nature at all with a million jet skis flying by. Thats the only time I listen to music while fishing.

New Pflueger reel looks sweet.
Shakespeare (Pflueger, All Star, Shakespeare, Cajun, X Tools, Penn and Ugly Stick) was purchased by Jarden Corporation. Shortly before that purchase, Jarden Corp purchased Pure Fishing and all of their brands (Abu Garcia, Berkley, Stren, Trilene, Spider, Johnson, Fenwick, etc). Jarden Corp also owns the following brands (and then some). Coleman (coolers, etc) Rawlings (baseball equipment) Crock Pot Mr. Coffee Health O Meter First Alert and Many Many more JT Bagwell what do you all think this will mean for the brands mentioned? i'm just getting into and excited about pflueger and abu garcia reels in particular and would hate to see major changes with these brands. I doubt they will change any thing if the stuff is selling real good.

I use the parasite worm clips. You can also get a parasite worm weight with clip. BPS has them they work really good. Jig mans idea is similar to it.

Bass Dreams
I had a weird one the other night. My brother in law had gotten a shimano core and he totally forgot that he bought it so I just took it and hooked it up on my rod. The funny thing is I dont even own a shimano. That was deffinatly a weird dream. It could be some kind of sign for me to save up for a core though. ;D

Fishing.. is it a sport or a hobby?
I agree to that. I also agree with titans about the hobby shop. The stuff you see in those stores to me are considered hobbies like building airplanes. Making lures is a hobby while fishing is the sport.

Trouble with Abu Garcia Revo Premier reel
Usually its not the reel causing the backlash its how the person casts it. Also traps do cast farther because they have internal weights that shift for a longer cast and a buzzbait has that big prop that the air catches so it really doesnt go as far. my .02 cents

Rods for less than 100 bucks and reels for less than a hundred$
