Bit by something other than a fish?
My dad caught an owl one time when we were at this pond. Luckily it wasnt hooked it only got caught in the line. The line was also wrapped around a tree branch. I managed to cast a crankbait and hook the line to bring it closer to shore. The owl just kind of froze and we let it free with know harm.

Paddletail/Swimbait test
In you r opinion which swimbait was the best??

Is rod sensitivity "over rated" for many techniques?
x2 to that. I used to have an older fiberglass crankbait rod. It had no sensitivity at all. And because of that I couldnt feel the structure that my bait was hitting causing a snag. With a more sensitive rod you feel the crankbait hit the structure then you stop reeling and the bait floats free.

i did some updating
What kind of soft plastic is that on the middle rod and zillion?

I love bandit crankbaits. Majority of my shallow to medium are bandits and my deep divers are norman. both about 4$ range.

carrot stix
A have to agree with ya there. I don't have any experience at all with these things; and from what I read, they are great rods. But, I don't think I could ever get past the way they look. :-/ I think if you match it up with the right reel like a Daiwa Sol then it looks good.

BR Lure Fun?
Im in. This is an awesome idea. How do we know where the lure is at. Will the person who receives it post that they got it. If this lure last through out the whole thing I wonder how beat up it would be.

Ive never used the C4 so I cant comment on that. But I have used my friends Cardiff many times. It is a smooth reel and I could cast a very good distance with it. The one I used is a cardiff 100

round vs low pro
Round reels usually consist of lower gear ratios and are more powerful.
