  1. 1/4 up to 3/4 on a pegged texas rig. 4/0 straight shank hook 1/2 up to 1 oz Carolina rig Jig trailer Bladed jig trailer Cut in half and drop shot.
  2. In big deep divers I like glass and braid. But mid and shallow I like a moderate fast and copoly.
  3. Mille Lacs, St Clair, Sturgeon Bay and Minnetonka are on my list of up north fisheries
  4. Thanks guys for the positive thoughts and comments. We are adjusting well to the new lifestyle and Hudson is doing great. He doesn't mind the finger pokes and shots as long as mom or I are doing them.
  5. 7 medium or medium heavy duckett micro magic. American legacy fishing has them for under $150
  6. 40lb braid. You can literally do everything with it besides super finesse techniques
  7. Medium heavy fast for me as well. Same thing I'd throw a jig or chatterbaits on
  8. I'm gonna go with the professional and say its your line slipping
  9. Go Cubbies! Fly the W!
  10. I really enjoy my 735 dobynsn furys for pitching and flipping 3/8 to 3/4 ounce jigs and also 1/4 to 3/4 ounce texas rigs. Very versatile rods as you Could throw frogs, big topwaters, big spinnerbaits and Carolina rigs well.
  11. Sugar down to 105. Playing with tractors in bed!
  12. Thanks guys! They are starting to get his sugar levels straightened out and he is on an insulin drip as we speak. When he woke up this morning his sugar was at 507! Just checked it and its down to 174
  13. Not a fan of the attention, nor do I usually do this. But I sure could use some positive thoughts. My 18 month old son was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We have been in the hospital all day amd it sure has been rough. He was born 10 weeks early and we thought that was rough, nothing compared to this. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
  14. D-all of the above. I know there's been times when ive been in a hurry and fished too fast. Also I know I've tried to force feed them a jig or big worm when I should've been dropshotting. Ive also fished shallow when I shouldve been deep and vice versa.
  15. I like 4lb cxx, 6lb hi seas grand slam, 6lb red label, or 7lb sniper. I am using a 3000 size reel on both my spinning combos
  16. I like a 1/4 ounce and up. Whether thats jigs or texas rigs. A flat smooth trailer that has a smooth fluid transition to the head helps a lot
  17. my partners dad is the one who puts on the tourney. And after 30 or so guys gave him a stern talking to, next tourney we got our entry fees plus what we should have won back, out of his own pocket. Now we go off 1 alarm set on a standard clock, at weigh in, not off of random peoples phones.
  18. 2 tournaments ago, we got beat by 3 ounces on a team that showed up late to weigh in. Cost us about $250. I wasnt worried about the money, just the simple fact that they let the other team do that. It wouldve been different if it was high schoolers or inexperienced guys. But one of them has been halfway successfully fishing big tournaments.
  19. Add the line suggestions on the rod together (8lb+10lb=18lb) for example. Then divide that number by 2. (18÷2=9). Then take that number divided by 3 (9÷3=3). Set your drag by using this formula and a scale for best results. That way you won't damage your rod.
  20. Pitching all day in heavy cover can be tough and tiring. Big hooksets, weights, and fish are combinations that make pitching grass or vegetation feel like hand to hand combat at times. Not sure a reel change is gonna make it "that" much easier. But ive been wrong before
  21. Wouldn't a cull beam and one cull ball be enough? Tgats what we use. All you really need to cull out is your smallest fish no matter how many you catch.
  22. Wouldn't 12:2 be the same as 6:1? But my favorite is 7:1
  23. I use straight shank flipping hooks for nearly every application besides giant 10" or bigger worms, 7" senko, and dropshotting. For pitching craws, creatures, 5 and 6" senkos etc I use a 4/0 straight shank. For 5" pit boss, magnum rage bug, or similar I use a 6/0 straight shank. Magnum Ol monster worms, culprit ribbon tails, and 12" straight tails I use a magnum g-lock hook from Gamakatsu.
