Why I like Loomis?
The only reason I got the GLX in this model is because they don't offer it in the IMX. IMO, the IMX models are better for the money except for worm fishing. I make all my worm rods GLX. I was going to pull the trigger on Megabass but I read a ton of posts from owners and there is basically no warranty for the $500-$700 rod I wanted.

Theories on Line and crankbaits
Wow, that's a lot of thought you put into this. Let me ask you this though. I have a crankbait that supposedly runs 4-6'. If I'm fishing in 10' feet of water with a 2' visibility, how do I know if my crank is going to the 4-6' range or not?

Bama spot
Nice fish! She's even got a nice little gut going on. Spooks are the BOMB.

Big fish today x2
That's how you have fun. Way to go! The weather was perfect for fishing earlier today. I planed on going in the morning but temps are dipping to low 40's and wind is picking up. I need to find my electric blanket.

How old is your state LMB record?
That fish has not been certified. Our certified record is 17.27 pounds in July 1986.

Why I like Loomis?
The GLX BCR853 that I have is a much better worm/jig rod. The MBR844 is a very good rod too but it's rated heavy and I don't really need it. I do more fishing with 10 and 12 pound mono which the MBR842 is better for.

Do you really believe?
Nope to all your questions except the last one. I think you worded it a little wrong but swimbaits will catch big bass as well as little ones. Do I thik you will catch bigger bass more often than other baits? Nope.

Why I like Loomis?
I bought a GLX MBR844 for $365 about a year ago from Loomis. They are now $385. I used this rod VERY little and it looks like it just came off the shelf. I listed it here in the flea market for $265 for the last month but no takers. Well, today I called Loomis and explained to them that I wanted a GLX MBR842 ,which cost $370, and if they would considere a trade . The lady said they don't usualy do trades but will do it this time if I pay for the shipping. I agreed and the the new rod is on it's way which she upgraded to priority at no charge. She couldn't believe no on jumped my $265 offer. But I'm glad it didn't sell because I just saved some money. IMO, Loomis is worth every penny.

Leader when fishing braid?
I don't use braid, actualy I do on my C-rig, but I often wondered why people use a leader . I always thought braid was used to help horse the fish out of cover like through matted grass, such as when flipping. The line will cut throught he grass easier than mono. If this is the case, then why use a mono leader? My friend uses a 4-5' mono leader with his braid. I think it defeats the purpose. The last 5' of line is what usualy gets hung up, which will be the mono. 99% of the time when you're flipping in heavy cover, the fish hit out of reaction and don't even see the line, if that's why people use a leader.

It's Just A Name, Right??
I can't think. It's 56 degrees here and I'm wrapped in a bundle of blankets...But no, I can't imagine them being removed based on their names alone. Although I don't have much faith in DCF.

OOOPS, I did it again!
Yea, too sweet to pass up. I'm going to have to get a bigger boat just for my rods. Or at least a line machine.

It's Just A Name, Right??
Long Mike i see what your saying and completely agree that the parents most likely did not take proper care of their children based on the names they gave them. however the article did not state why the authorities took custody of the kids which leaves the door open to the possibillity of it being based on there names alone, which i do not agree with as much as i dislike the names. As much as I hate to, I have to agree with you Fish Man. If the law allows the parents to practice their beliefs, then how can we remove the children of those parents just because of their names.

OOOPS, I did it again!
I'm right handed. It's just a left haded picture.

Loomis MBR842C
Does anyone have or used this rod? I have the 843 and 844 but was thinking of dropping down a size for another 50mg with #12 mono. I'll throw mostly flukes, 1/8 T-rig worms and small topwater with it. It's going to be hard to beat my 843 though. http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441760455&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032505&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1231989641517
