Comparison info needed on Loomis crankbait rods
Please DO NOT comment about any other rod because I could care less. Unless it's Loomis. I have the CBR843, but want to move up in size. Has anyone fished with the Loomis Deep Flex series yet? If so, how did it compare to Loomis' regular crankbait rod?

Lake Osborne Area
I'm not fishing the tourny on Saturday. My buddy went out today (Friday) and fished from south end Liesurville all the way to the PB canal. Caught only 6. Biggest came at 4points,3lb. Two on pointers and rest on Senkos.

NRX problem
I somewhat agree. These rods are mass produced, so if you want "close to perfection," then have it custom made. But, even then, something could still wrong. You said Loomis was going to fix the problem and you didn't have to use the wild card, that's because it's a manufacturers defect. Seems to me Loomis is standing behind there product 100%. I fish nothing but Loomis and have never received a damaged or "sloppy" made rod. Sht happens, but I'm confident Loomis will make it right.

So whats the real deal with Recoil guides?
Recoil guides are fine with braid. Ceramic guides are good with braid also. The problem with braid cutting into ceramics is when a fish makes long, hard runs. Particularly in saltwater species. For example; Wahoo are hard hitting and extremely fast fish. Wahoo will cause the braid to dig into the guides after a period of time.

I'll let you know how I did, if I go. Friday is going to be a long night and I have to work Saturday at 2pm. I'd only get about 3 hours sleep.

There's the monthly on Saturday and also a big fish tourny, which is what I'll fish if I go. Safe light till noon @ $15. Pays back 2 places. Last year had 36 boats and 4.? ponds took 1st ;D ;D. Sounds easy but weather can be a bit**.

They call it "sagging"
LMAO.. That pic reminds me of a loud mouth punk kid I arrested a couple years ago. This dumb ars was wearing baggy, long shorts so big that he had to hold them up with his hand just to keep them from falling all the way down. Well, he would just not shut up and insisted showing off for his friends so I decided to have some fun. I hiked his shorts up so high that he needed a shovel to dig'em out of his ars. I then tucked his shirt in and made him look like an overgrown Erkle. By the time I was done with him there was only about a one inch gap between his nipple line and the top of his shorts ;D. I swear the kid was in tears from embarrassment, but his friends and bystanders laughed there ars' off.

Some suggestions...
Regarding this...i don't care how scientific a test is and what minuscule gains and losses such a test proves, i'm still gonna fish what i feel the best fishing. That goes for just about every product out there. You haven't been around long enough or fished long enough to know what is best.

Batten down the hatches
HAHA, better think twice.

How do you choose a rod length??
How do you choose a rod length?? This could get nasty ;D ;D ;D ;D

New baits & Techniques you want to try in 2011
I'm ready to try a different color Senko. I've already gone through a hundred bags of black/blue flake. ;D

How do you choose a rod length??
That pretty much sums it up..

Try and make the flouro and braid close to the same diameter. See if the sensitivity is the same with the leader. You can also do the same test using all mono vs all flouro. (no braid) I'd be curious to see the results while using soft plastics, like worms or senkos.

Batten down the hatches
45.4 and dropping right now I could live with the cold. It's the gusts up to 41 that are killer. LOL, I told the wife the same thing earlier. The wind and wind gusts are KILLER.

Holiday Chroming
I've never been to NY and would absolutely love to come up there and fish. The warmest clothes I have are a pair of jeans and long sleeve t-shirt, HAHA. I don't even own a cold weather jacket. I would be more than willing to go out and buy the proper clothing if I could find something to occupy the wife and kid while I was gone. Let's see.. me fishing in NY while wife stays home and goes to work :-?. Yea, that should go over like a fart in church. ;D Better yet, I bring her and her sister (for company), leave them at the hotel with my credit card and I go fishing.

Here, review this. I would like for you to fish braid with and without a flouro leader and see which catches more fish. It may take a while so that both tests are fair. You have to use the same bait, hook and body of water. I'd say 24 hours fishing with each should suffice, weather permitting. Maybe do 2 hours with and 2 hours without until 24 or 48 hours is reached.

Left over holiday food thread
I'm somewhat surprised this thread hasn't been started yet, especially with the insomnia crew. Traditionally, in our family, turkey is for Thanksgiving and a spiral cut honey baked ham for Christmas. Sometimes both, but generally just one. If it was solely up to me though, I'd much rather have ham as the main course for both holidays, and turkey for leftover sandwiches. Man, it's hard to top a leftover turkey sandwich with extra mayonnaise and pepper. As for side dishes, well, the list is too big. But, if I had to pick three, then it would be broccoli casserole, pineapple casserole and sweet potato with raisins and melted marshmallows on top.

Old school.
Heck yea. I also had a little South Bend spinning reel too. This thread almost makes me want to crawl into the attic and search for'em, ALMOST. And Sam is right. Everyone that fished saltwater fished a Penn. Penn Senator, Penn Jigmaster, Penn Squider, Penn Knucklebuster.
