  1. Yeah I'm excited. All the baits are new to me other than the 110's. So excited to try them all out. I just bought my youngest a car last night so I might have to take it easy on my fishing purchases. LOL
  2. If you know you know.
  3. Well I normally don't post on this but I'm currently trying to find anything to do BUT work. Here's a couple packages that arrived yesterday. Dedicated topwater rod/reel. Probably going to be a second jerkbait combo when the water gets too cold for topwater. PS The fire tiger jerbait was just too pretty not to buy. LOL
  4. Yeah she choked that thing!
  5. Sure is. Mentally I'm preparing for a loss. I'm definitely not putting any money on the Hawks. Did that last year and lost a bunch. LOL
  6. I fish from a yak. No motor, not feet propelled, no anchor, no electronics. Just me, a big chunk of plastic, and a paddle. Probably what I hate the most is that my rods are vertical. If you get snagged in somewhat open water, it's not a big deal. But when you get snagged near the shore with grown trees hanging over the water, it can be a major PITA. There are a bunch of other minor things that make things challenging but that's my biggest beef. Of course, even with these problems, it beats fishing from shore by 1,000%. I probably won't find a boat this year, but I'm getting one next year. I'll still keep the yak for outings on small water. But I can't wait for a boat.
  7. I'll give them a try, can't wait for the fall. Nice win in Ireland, you're gonna need a little more than Irish Luck come 9/6.
  8. Thanks for all the replies. I fished a spinnerbait on Sunday and tried to burn it some just so the fish would get less time to look at it. Was a double colorado blade so I knew it wasn't ideal. I really didn't keep track of what they liked the best. I probably need to start doing that. I just have a hard time paying..........SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Anyone burn a spinnerbait? If so, when do you typically do it? Certain conditions you are looking for? Such as water clarity, water temp, season? Also, I currently throw a spinnerbait with braid and normally have pretty good hookup rates. Would braid not be the best for burning? Lastly, certain blade preference/weight? THANKS!
  10. You know what spring you need, you just can't find it? Or you can't find out what spring you need? I'll be no help in either situation, just trying to get the conversation going for you. Good luck either way.
  11. Got a boat? Just cast something out there and then let a bunch more line out. Reel her back in.
  12. I know fall isn't officially here yet but yesterday in Iowa it was a perfect fall-like day. Temps were down, good wind, perfect day for a spinnerbait. Went to a local lake with one pole in hand, left the kayak at home. Just an absolute beautiful day to fish. Fished for about 2 hours and caught probably a dozen. Left with a torn up left thumb and a sore heel pad on my hand from cranking so much. Moving baits are just so much fun. Nothing huge but a few really solid fish. Here's a couple:
  13. When I first bought a plastic milk crate, I cut off 4 pieces of PVC pipe for 4 rods. I made two of those. One for me and one for one of my sons. They don't go out much anymore so I "stole" 2 from theirs a couple of years ago. Last year I'm like the heck with it, I "stole" the other 2. So now I can fish with 8. M spinning - Neko rigs MH baitcasting - Swim jigs M baitcasting - Poppers/spooks H baitcasting - Frogs MH baitcasting - Deepish cranks MH baitcasting - Spinnerbaits H baitcasting - Swimbaits M baitcasting - Jerkbaits Oh hell, where's my jig rod gonna go? I'm making this up as I go. I just added a dedicated topwater rod to my lineup, FedEx is dropping off the final piece today. Clearly I haven't thought about this enough as the jig rod is 100% coming with me every trip. I normally like to have an UL spinning with me as well to throw tiny cranks for panfish. I also want a squarebill setup. It's pretty clear I need a boat. LOLOLOLOLOL
  14. I've got a package getting delivered today from Japan if that answers your question. Oh, there's a reel in there as well.
  15. Yesterday had a spinnerbait vibe written all over it. You could see it in the trees and feel it with your lungs. :) In fact, I only took ONE fishing rod with me, and ONE lure. Which if you knew me, I like to bring everything including the kitchen sink. I caught at least 10. There's not much out there that can beat a spinnerbait bite.
  16. Ya know, I’m not sure if I have either. Mostly because I rarely throw them. Similar moving baits I mostly throw swimjigs or spinnerbaits. I’ve got 1/2 a dozen jackhammers I need to try them.
  17. I’ve got 3 Dobyn’s arriving tomorrow. I fished a Booyah today with great success. Held up well. Not sure the model, I think I’ve had it a while. We will see how the Dobyn’s go, I’ll definitely try the Booyah’s again with no hesitation. Still never buying those Strike Kings again. lol
  18. Can you share please? Thanks
  19. I’m pretty low on spinnerbaits so I did some digging downstairs just now. Found one and was ready to tie it on but stopped and said to myself, “Maybe I should keep this.” It’s a brand spanking new T1 Terminator. Don’t have the package anymore but it’s never seen the water. I don’t know why, but I’m having a hard time putting it on. lol There are people selling these for $20-$40, even used ones. Fish it? Keep it?
  20. Got my rat in the mail yesterday and was about ready to go throw her at a good spot but then realized there was definitely a possibility of getting hit by a Muskie. That ended that plan real quick as I wasn’t about to risk losing it on day 1. I don’t mind throwing cheap baits naked, but expensive lures is a different story. For those that throw swimbaits in “shark” infested water, what do you do? This could be glide baits, wake baits, any kind of what I call a swimbait. THANKS!
  21. What sucks is that I have over $100 of rewards credit at Omnia and their swimbait lineup is lacking. I don’t mind but my wife sure does!
  22. Yeah, multiple reviews saying this.
  23. Gave it a quick search. Most reviews say they catch fish but the hooks rip out easily. Disappointing to hear, they are actually on sale at TW.
  24. Yep, this is why I mentioned action as one of the benefits specifically to the Megabass P5 lineup. They call it their 5-D graphite system. They can make rods bend in certain places where others don’t. They are truly a joy to fish. I have NRX+ and the P5’s blow them out of the water. Loomis has a much better warranty and an American company. Some say more sensitivity but it wouldn’t be by much.
