  1. Yes. I have the "racks" on the two outer edges as far out as they can go..the jigs are in there with the trailers facing towards the middle.
  2. Another kayak fisherman here. 15 is about my limit and I try to stay out of it or close to shorelines. This past summer I was out in 12-15 which was manageable but once the front started moving in and gusts hit 25+ I couldn't get in fast enough. Of course it was a cross wind I was paddling through.
  3. Merino wool long underwear, NRS boots. What goes over the top of the underwear depends on the weather.
  4. Keitech Swing Impact Fat, 3.8 and 4.8 inches Colors Bluegill Flash Electric Shad Tennessee Shad That's my entire collection and I use swim jigs with these more than any other lure.
  5. Crankbait or swim jig/paddletail in a natural color maybe with a bit of chartreuse in it.
  6. I prefer a MH/Fast for single hook applications. I used to use a St Croix Mojo Bass, now I use and AvidX, also MH/Fast.
  7. I live just outside Chicago and was going to ask the same question as A-Jay.....When I've been on a dry spell where I'm not catching more than 2-3 per outing I usually head to my favorite spot that almost guarantees 20-30 bass but they're all between 12-14 inches. It's fun but only once in a while.
  8. I also fish them out of a kayak. I love using them and don't have any kayak related issues. I've caught them in warm water but they really shine in the colder water. I was fishing in northern Illinois on Black Friday using jerkbaits and using 15-20 second pauses and caught a lot of bass that day!
  9. I've never caught a bass on craw colored. But I have caught tons of bass on craw colored jigs/trailers in those same waters... Go figure!
  10. Do you want to be able to map lakes with your unit? Do you want to have lake/depth maps on your unit already? They all have down imaging, side imaging is an option. The best way to see what each is would be Youtube.
  11. And what features are you looking for? Mapping Side Imaging Cost I can tell you that better units give better displays so are easier to learn. They may have more setting options but many will work quite well out of the box.
  12. I've honestly had equal success with any of the shad variations. When water vis is low I like chartreuse in it too. I even fish a place that I've never seen any shad and do well with that color. I use bluegill patterns there too but have switched colors just to see and don't really notice a difference.
  13. My Mojo Bass rods were my first over $100 rods and I really liked them. If I hadn't tried the higher end stuff and realized there is a difference I'd still be using them..
  14. Mine is in a kayak, I take it off the mount but keep the cables connected and just lay it in the bottom of the kayak.
  15. Yes, I should have added that I use 50 or 65 pound braid for punching.
  16. 30 pound Sufix 832, no leader. And yes it works in crystal clear water. I fish a lot of quarries with 10+ feet of visibility.
  17. I reduce a bit in the winter, but somehow it gets back to where I started plus some by the end of summer.
  18. I usually do it when I come up with new ways to divide things up in my head....lol I fish from a kayak so space and organization are always on my mind.
  19. I reorganize a couple of times per winter..........I usually find things I forgot I had.
  20. All I know is that several online sites had them listed with back order dates and now the Levante isn't even on those sites.
  21. I just use a 3 lb grappling anchor. It's doesn't always stick me to a spot but it slows me down.
  22. I do, but unless it's dead calm I anchor also.
  23. I would go with the conditions. Windy, cloudy, I'm using a spinnerbait. Other than that I'm using a squarebill. But.........if it's too weedy for a squarebill I'd use a chatterbait.......... Last year early season I won big bass in a tournament with a chatterbait, the guy who won the tournament used a squarebill.
  24. Well I'm sitting in a kayak and it's not my best technique........
  25. I don't give it much thought but it probably varies between 6 inches to a foot. Sometimes when I'm pitching to a close target it's probably a few feet of line.
