  1. I wasn't worried about the holes at all. I said I was the first time I ever had to work on a kayak. Now it's not even a thought. You know, like how in my response I said, "It's not a big deal" LOL
  2. Of course..........there are tons of skirtless swim jig heads being sold. I use them when the fish aren't hitting a skirted jig.
  3. I use 20 lb braid for certain applications but 30 would probably be the best all around if you're new to it. My personal arsenal goes from 20 lb up to 65 lb.
  4. Last year I caught a nice 18" on a spinnerbait about 10 minutes after a guy in another boat told me the water was too cold for it. Nothing else was working! LOL
  5. I'm not familiar with the SIS. It doesn't have gear tracks? Haha, I'm a dummy this morning... SIS= Sit in side......... I don't know how you'd do it without drilling a hole or two. It's not a big deal. My first kayak I dreaded it. Now I don't give it a second thought. Well nuts or silicone.
  6. I just upgraded my battery to an Amped Outdoors Lithium, 18ah. I was running a Nocqua 10ah but I also added a new depthfinder that has more to it so I wanted the added run time.
  7. I use the Pointer SP
  8. I keep my trailers on, but I tend to use the same jig over and over. If the trailer is tore up at the end of the day I toss it. I only use a couple different colors of a couple different jigs, so my extra's are obviously trailerless until I use it. I'd say at any one time there's only 2 or 3 jigs stored with their trailers still on it.
  9. I don't have the Orochi XX spinning rods but have the casting. Bought one to try it out, now have three. Far and away my best rods. I'd imagine that before summer is out I'll have replaced three more of my existing with the Orochi's.
  10. With practice you can tie a braid to leader know very easily. I have never had that second knot for the connection be a failure point.
  11. You hit my routine spot on, and then add re-organizing my tackle in a seemingly endless cycle.
  12. Out of the original boxes and into the Plano box that I have for that particular style. Another thing I do for both crankbaits and jerkbaits is a take a marker and write the depth range on the bill. It saves a bit of time when on the water and makes it easier to quickly pick the lure I'm looking for while fishing.
  13. A natural, like bluegill or shad, I usually go with shad.. A reflective A bright with chartruese
  14. To be honest, it depends on the mood of the fish at that particular time. I've caught fish with faster, more aggressive presentations when slow stuff didn't work, I've also done the opposite. I've also had instances where whatever I did worked. I've walked poppers the entire retrieve and had it work....sometimes it hasn't worked and I've worked in pauses of various lengths that paid off. I'm sure others can give you more specific answers as to the when and where.
  15. I will add the Whopper Plopper too. I tried and tried and tried with no success. Then last summer I had a one week period where I slayed them in shallow water before the sun crested the trees. Then it stopped. Even under the same conditions.
  16. I'm intrigued by the hammered look of some of the copper blades. I places I fish tend to be either ultra clear or ultra muddy. I'm always trying to add to my arsenal.
  17. Another glide bait. I don't get it. I try and try. I think I've caught one bass on a glide bait.
  18. After reading this thread I've added some copper blades to my arsenal.
  19. I use braid on everything which varies from 20 lb up to 65 pound. I use PowerPro and now the Sufix 832. I usually go by line diameter rather than lb test. I'd never go below 20.
  20. I bought one when they were first offered and had right handed available too. I used it for the first time a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it.
  21. One of the reasons I went with the Garmin.
  22. Does anyone have the small Edge crankbait box? I'd be putting squarebills, medium depth, and lipless cranks in it and am curious as to how many it can hold. I typically have about 24-30 with me.
  23. I use silver or gold.........silver when it's clear or clearish water, gold when it's not.
