Forget Effective, What Is Fun
I want to add regarding my love of jigs. That cat and mouse game of feeling everything as you move along the bottom trying to determine what's causing that little bump, the slight pick up of the jig, was it a rock? Weeds? My most expensive rod is my jig rod, the increase in sensitivity was a game changer. This year I switched from braid with a mono leader to straight flouro, another game changer.

Forget Effective, What Is Fun
I love fishing jigs, bottom, brush, weeds, swim jigs..........jigs, jigs, jigs.

Bonafide XTR 130
Why can't you just change the bunk location on your current trailer?

Determining the crankbait bite.
I'm not so big on changing colors when using cranks, most of mine are shad or bluegill colors, some with shiny sides, some not. I base that part on how bright the sky is and the water clarity. When I'm trying to determine which ones to use I base it on depth and change baits accordingly as I work my way through the column.

Landing Big Bass on a Kayak
Kayak fisherman here too. What I've found best when netting big bass is that first off my net is easy to access when I need it. I try as often as I can to have that line tight and my rod tip leaning fairly well in the direction of the bass, that way I can play the bass a little with rod tip movement as the bass moves, if it moves towards me I can lift the tip. A lot of times that leads the bass right into the net.

Consistently successful jig fishermen how important is closely matching you trailer color to your jig color?
I'm a little more varied than you. Sometimes green pumpkin, sometimes green pumpkin with red metal flake. LOL Often the decision is made by which one I grabbed first.

Fishing The Decline
Craw trailer with big claws.

Buzzbait line observations
I agree, as I look back and try to remember most of my buzzbait catches hooked themselves with no set by me. I think the combination of the fairly quick retrieve with the braid does all the work on this.

Buzzbait line observations
I don't throw buzzbaits a lot. But by pure coincidence I do use my frogging rod for them, loaded up with braid.

What do you have tied on in the summer?
Always a bottom jig Always a swim jig, sometimes bladed sometimes not Always a t-rig Always a crank bait, type depending on conditions Always a wacky rig, which I hate fishing. LOL

Fluoro Thoughts
In the past I used only braid with leaders for whatever I was doing. Then a a couple of years ago I switched to Tatsu flouro for cranks, jerkbaits, poppers. This year I put Tatsu on my jig rod and really like it. But...................I bought my first BFS rig this spring and was not thrilled with using flouro and it's birds nests while I got used to casting ultra light. I didn't know if I would get them but can assume I would, especially in wind. So instead I went with Sunline Super Natural. While I'm in no hurry I may be switch all my flouro reels except the jig setup to Sunline mono.

Fishing Clothes
I have several, cheap to expensive and none are all that cool, and they stink up quick. I've found that the most consistent is to just go with the thickness of the shirt which unfortunately you need to see in person. Even with the thin ones I've never gotten a burn.

Bottom Up or Top Down?
In my entire life I've never even paid attention to that. Luck of the draw on which direction I pick said lure up.

Seeking high end bait finesse setup rec’s
I bought a Cashion ICON 7 foot light/fast specifically for the Karashi as I've never used anything that small before. I've only had it out once but have no complaints. I also don't have anything to compare it to.

Small Water Fishing
Small differences in boring structure can be huge. A few years back I was fishing a new lake that a friend had a cottage on, he asked if I had side imaging, I did, he said the north bay, which was actually pretty large was a big flat area of shallow water, all of it about three feet deep. He said towards one end was a small hump, less than a foot higher than all that surrounding water and maybe five feet across. He said I'll catch them there. I found it and I did.

Small Water Fishing
I fish a lot of smaller waters, some only a few acres in size. All from my kayak. When I'm fishing "bowls" of water I look for changes in bottom composition, places where water may flow in or out, small changes in the shoreline such as a mini point. Some of those points are so minimal you can barely notice them from the water, Google maps before going helps.

Photos: My AP 120 Setup
I bought an AP 120 in January and just built my Malone Microsport Off Road trailer. I have a couple of questions for you? How long are your bunks, mine are seven feet and I find that when unloading the kayak the front of the hull has a spot where the channels flare out that catch on the front end of the bunks. I'm thinking the only way to overcome that is to get longer bunks that extend all the way to the front of the kayak when loaded on the trailer. The other question, if you load directly to the water doesn't your rod locker get dunked?

Go to baits always on the deck?
A bottom jig, either pitching or football jig with a craw or beaver trailer and a swim jig with a paddle tail. I'm a jig guy. LOL

Bonafide pwr on trailer - bunk location
I'm going with a hand crank. After I order and put the trailer together I may leave on side of the crossbars long enough to mount an 8" PVC rod tube on it. I'll have a better idea once I'm looking at an actual trailer.

Bonafide pwr on trailer - bunk location
I'm probably going to order mine next week. I'm listing my Bonafide with all it's goodies within the next day or so on FB to make space for the trailer build. I'm cutting my crossbars, or not even installing them depending on how it looks when I get to that point and can see how I want to install the pvd bunks. I'm also going to add this item to secure the kayak from the front as well as make it even easier to load the kayak on some of the very steep ramps we have around here. My post didn't insert the link, I'm adding a winch/post stand to pull the kayak up against.
