  1. My first ever bass tournament I was working the shoreline with a jig talking to another fisherman in a boat near me working a crankbait in deeper water when something hit his lure hard. There's musky where we were fishing so we both thought he had one on......he fought that thing for what seemed like forever when he looked up at me with a look of disappointment. He snagged the gill of what appeared to be about a 20 pound carp.
  2. There is a small 6 acre private pond I fish all the time. It is fairly shallow, 6-7 feet at the deepest with great lily pads and shallow weed cover. In three years I think I've caught maybe 4 or 5 fish on topwater. Senkos, cranks, chatterbaits are the way to go there. No idea why, just know it's the way it is. I caught this one on a Senko dropped into the weeds.
  3. Like I said above....I've been hugely successful with crankbaits for the past month.
  4. My favorite spot had a water temp of 82-83 this summer. This past week the water has been 50-52. I've caught every bass except one in less than 5 feet of water. The only deeper bass was also the smallest!
  5. I use a quicker moving bait like cranks or spinnerbaits, and a slower bait like a jig or t-rig, I tend to start with cranks and spinnerbaits though.
  6. I have the same Mojo and AvidX and have the opposite results as you. I find the X outcasts the Mojo. I'll be replacing the Mojo with another X.
  7. I was all set to try a jerkbait today, I've never had much luck with them but also haven't really gave them a chance. But today the water visibility was not good so I stuck with cranks. I even tried a flat sided crank with no rattle, no luck. Regular crank with a rattle, boom.
  8. I should add, I use snaps only, no swivels.
  9. Based on this fall I'd say my favorite technique is crank baits. Once the water temp hit the 50's I've been loading up with 3 crank baits.....a 0-5 foot, a 4-7 foot, and a 8-12 foot, once I find the right depth I've been having a lot of success with cranks. Probably 95% of my bass in October were on crank baits.
  10. Add me to the list that use snaps for everything except plastics...mainly to make it easier to change things up. Although as I've gained experience I find I change things up a lot less than I used to.
  11. New place I want to cover water at various depths. What I would choose would also depend on time of year and weed cover or lack of weed cover. But, in general, Cranks to cover between 1 and 12 feet so I'll count that as three lures Swim jig with a paddletail T-rig with a crawfish trailer
  12. Funny how that's lost on him.
  13. Judging by the responses to you in your thread in which you display an UNFOUNDED ARROGANCE I would say yes, other people get annoyed. The question you should now ask is,,,,,,are you wrong in your approach or is everyone else wrong.
  14. If that bothers you you are a tiny bit sensitive, if it bothers you enough to rant in a forum about it, yes you are way too sensitive. LOL
  15. Caught 5 bass on the Movement 80x today........water was 51 degrees and all the bass were up shallow.
  16. I've caught a ton of bass the last three weeks on 6th Sense cranks.......They are all I have and I love them. I have about 25 or so and they all produce in the right situation.
  17. Very true, I caught my PB largemouth on a 5 inch Senko, I also caught the only musky I've ever caught, which was 48", on a 5 inch Senko while fishing for bass. Imagine my surprise on that one. I figured it was a big bass with A LOT of weeds caught with it. LOL
  18. My biggest bass was in two feet of water, my second biggest was at 22 feet......
  19. Last year was my first in a kayak and I just wanted to catch bass. I did that and had a blast. This year I entered online tournaments and wanted to catch bigger bass, which I was able to do and did result in less fish. But there have been times where I just wanted to catch fish. The funny part is I tend to catch my smallest fish right around the time and spot I catch the bigger ones. This summer I caught a 21" largemouth on a swimjig/Keitech and on the very next cast to the same spot caught a bass that had to be all of 8"!
  20. I like the St. Croix AvidX. I think it was $220. I use a MH/Fast for jigs.
  21. The problem with the deep casket is there aren't as many slots so if you want one crank per slot it's not going to hold many.
  22. In my last 4 trips I've caught 49 bass, probably 45 of them on cranks. Of the 45 on cranks probably 35 on a squarebill. Yesterday I caught 5, threw deep cranks, spinnebaits, jigs without a bite All 5 were caught on a 3-5 foot running squarebill. Water temps were 52 on the cold end, 57 on the warm.
  23. Only bigger deep divers wouldn't fit in a single slot, so I had to remove a couple of dividers to get them in but it's still all good because there are so many slots!
  24. Yes, Like I said, I put them in nose first, hang one hook on the back treble over the divider so you can grab it easily. Today I was out in the kayak with it on it's side, wanted to switch up since the color I was using wasn't working, reached back and grabbed the box out of my crate and when I opened it up everything was just how I left it. Should have bought it sooner. The downside is now I see myself buying more Bass Mafia boxes......lol
  25. I really enjoy fishing cranks, I really hate untangling hooks. After seeing this thread I went and bought the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin, deep........I can fit 48 cranks in there, a couple less since my deep divers take up two slots. But I can put the in a slot, nose first and hang a hook over the divider to make it easier to get them out. One per slot, no tangled hooks. I hate spending that kind of money on a utility box but this was well worth it. Used it on my fishing outing today and loved it.
