What's the deal with Okuma
Never once read that someone recommended an Okuma reel or rod over anything else before. Should have clarified that a bit better.

What's the deal with Okuma
So I've been watching Scott Martin on the tube lately and he's a big Okuma believer, why is it that I haven't heard of and read one thing about anything Okuma here on B.R?

quantum smoke HD vs shimano curedo 200I
Fortunately for you I currently have both! Ill start off by saying that both reels are awesome reels! Ill make this as simple as possible by listing only pros of each reel because I can't really find any negatives, only then the low 12lb drag on curado. Curado I - no play in handle means its very smooth - more features for breaking system Smoke HD - 25LB of drag is unreal and smooth - palms so nice - casts double the distance as Curado I and Citica I - feels strong when cranking handle Those are my main points, it is all opinionated so take it how you will. The Curado is cheaper atm because T.W has it on sale, but if you really want a reel that can pull your boat for you and don't mind spending a little more, get the smoke. You will not be disappointed. Shoot me a DM if you want more info on the two and more of what I think buddy.

Quantum LSR-101 info?
Wouldn't waste 30 bucks on a much older reel like that.

Lews David fritts cranking stick, one three fate chrome, or kvd tour cranking rod.
I've heard awesome things about the KVD, plus some of the pros have been using them from what I've seen

Quantum reels
I have 3 quantum energy pt's, 2 team kvds, iron 300 pt and the original smoke. The energy reels out cast my curado and citica 200i's, my tatula HD, and my bb1 pro by close to 10 yards. They have more drag then any of my other reels and at such smoother then the tatula and bb1 pro. They are of par with the curado and citica, if not then a fraction behind. The smoke is one MEAN reel, it will rip out a tree from the roots. I don't care what anyone else says, quantum can make a pretty darn good reel if you ask me. DM me if you want more info. I've taken all my reels apart so I'd say I know my quantum's pretty well

eBay reels..
I was so tempted to get 3 reels from Simmons but I looked at the reviews and they were very sketchy. Would you recommend giving them a shot? Was that the only purchase from them that you made? What are some sellers you use buddy? Pm me?

What grease and oil works best
Wow didn't expect so many replys! Thanks guys, I'm going to look up some of the products and sites listed above and go from there. Now when you guys grease the gears and the drag washers, how much is enough and what's to much? I lightly coat the teeth on the gears but try not to where it cakes up on the pinion.

What grease and oil works best
I do my own servicing on my bait casters, and currently using shimanos reel oil and just some basic grease that I have around the house from my mechanic days. My buddies have asked me to work on all of their reels so I just wanted to know what everyone was using to service their reels.
