A man feared his wife wasn't hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem. The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss. "Here's what you do," said the Doctor, "stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response." That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the den. He says to himself, "I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens." Then in a normal tone he asks, "Honey, what's for dinner?" No response. So the husband moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, "Honey, what's for dinner?" Still no response. Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, "Honey, what's for dinner?" Again he gets no response. So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. "Honey, what's for dinner?" Again there is no response. So he walks right up behind her and asks. "Honey, what's for dinner?" (I just love this) (Scroll down) "Ralph , for the FIFTH time, CHICKEN!"
  3. Jeremyth I use the X point hooks and I make a sweep with my rod and it will almost always get them. You don't have to set the hook all that hard. The only time I have to use a lot of power is when I am CRing
  4. Yall are to dog gone smart for me. I never even take all that stuff into consideration. I just go fishing.
  5. Ok guys I made it back from Lake Ontario in one peace! Had a great time and I got to meet TI_ Bassin, Paul is a great guy and I really enjoyed fishing with him. He is also a good fisherman. Every time I looked back he was putting fish in the boat. Well I went out the first day of the tournament with my draw partner and we had no trouble putting limits of small mouth in the boat. We decided to head back closer to the weigh in site, but mother nature had other plans for us. When we got to the mouth of Chaumont Bay we were looking at 12 to 15 footers. My new Triton wouldn't climb to the top of them and it would just run out of power ( Wrong Prop ) Those waves don't have no respect what so ever for you because when I got back down to the bottom of the wave it just came right on over the top of me. And if that won't bad enough the second one done the same thing. The third one knocked the front end of my boat around so I figured that was the way the Lord wanted me to go, so that's the way I went. Once in safe water the officials came and plucked use out. I was really on some good fish, but that's the way it is sometimes. One guy at the weigh in said that I didn't have a bit of luck but I think I was real lucky to get out of there. Now let me tell you that New York is one beautiful place, I just never picture it being like that, with all the deer and turkeys and country side. I was doing good till I order some Grits and the young waiter had no idea what I was talking about. ;D Well I did qualify for the National in Florida this November, I ended up in 43th place and they take the top fifty. well I could talk for ever about this trip but I have a lot of catching up to do. Again: thanks Paul for your help.

  9. What a difference a sad event in someone's life makes. GEORGE CARLIN (His wife recently died...) Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate. A wonderful Message by George Carlin: The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete... Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares? George Carlin

  14. I seen the first hour of it last night and I learned a lot about the guy I didn't know. He better be glad he has plenty of money because he will never get a girl with the attitude he has toward woman. quote ( I'm the boss are nothing ) Man I hope I can see him after he does get married. ( He is in for a surprise.) ;D

  16. This is a great organization. I have been fishing them since the mid 80's. Leaving here Friday, going to New york to fish the regionals. I will probably have my hands full trying to catch them small mouths. I like the ABA because they are close to home and it doesn't cost a arm and a leg to fish them. Well that being said you don't win a lot at the local level either. Just learn that when you are a non boater to pack your gear accordingly and be ready to pay your share of the expenses without the boater having to ask for it. I am a member of D15 & D17
