I agree Brokejaw. I like the Yo Zuri, but I'm not crazy about it yet. Some times I get wicked tangles as it goes out through the guides. I'm gonna order another spool just to be safe. So far the pros have outwieghed the cons tho. Matt

While BR was down, we did some catchin'!
Good thing we threw 'em back so the cycle will continue! Like I said before, I caught that one on an Evolution Jig. People are always complaining that those jigs are too expensive, $4.99 apiece. Well....I would have paid $5 for that fish...not to mention all the others I've caught on that jig. I'd say they've paid for themselves already! 8-) ;)

water skiers/jetskiers
I should reiterate my point. We used to pier fish in the Atlantic Ocean. (Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach etc) These nitwits on jet skis have the ENTIRE ocean, yet they would harrass the pier fisherman by purposely coming in and trying to run over the lines. Maybe I should have made that more clear.

water skiers/jetskiers
When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, we used to pier fish alot. Our solution for jet ski's coming in too close to the pier was a surf rod with a 5oz diamond sinker tied on the end. Does wonders to fiberglass...

Baseball..
I gave up on baseball because of the '94 strike. Haven't watched a single game since. Bunch of overpaid cry babies on steroids. Now, for some REAL competition, try NHRA drag racing...The fastest show on earth. No disputes here, first one to the stripe wins...

Line for Jig & Pig / Frog Rod?
Here's my setup that has proved to be very succesful this year. I started out this spring having never caught on a jig. Did some research, spent a day on the water with LBH getting schooled, and have had one tied on since. I use a 7' BPS extreme MH with 20lb Power Pro. Gives nice distance for casting, which we need in alot of the lakes here, because of clarity. So far, I haven't noticed a downside of the "visibility" of the braid. The fish have been smacking the jig like a truck. Just me

USE sunblock!!
Good post! My wifes uncle died from skin cancer at the age of 35. I've also had a mole removed from my right forearm that turned out to be benign, but scary at age 15! Delivering in the UPS truck all day, I put it on before I leave the house.

My 2 year old nephew's first fish!
Went down to the summer house for the 4th. Bought my nephew a Spiderman rod and reel from Walmart. Figured it would keep him entertained, plus, he thinks HE'S Spiderman. So it only seemed logical! I was catching LM bass of the end of the dock, and we set him up to catch some 'gills and sunfish. He had a blast, his reaction at the end was priceless. Everytime I watch it I crack up. ;D ;D ;D His mom is taking the vid, and one of my other sisters is helping him.

Dumb question...
I used to leave them all in the original bags, but it started to take up alot of space so I bought the BPS worm binder. This thing is awesome. Cheap money too, $5.99. Fit's all my trick sticks, Brush Hogs, Tubes, Flukes etc... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37107_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10

strangest trailering experience...
Not a fishing related trailer incident, but..... We were headed back to New England last year from Kentucky. We had been at Beech Bend for the Mustang Nationals. My buddy Mike has a tire blow out at 70mph on the PA turnpike. The trailer almost flipped with the $85,000 Mustang inside. As it turned out, the truck was completely totalled, hard to see in the pic. The straps holding the car down broke, so it got bounced around inside. It was very scary, we saw it happen behind us and I ran as fast as I ever have in my life back down the highway, luckily he and his passenger were'nt hurt seriously. FYI, the truck is facing the wrong way on the turnpike!

Evolution jig?
I've had an Evolution Jig tied on one of my rods for the last three weeks. It has caught fish everytime out. No problems with snagging here. :-? Caught a nice 3.5 lber last weekend. So far it's been worth about $1.50 per fish (if you don't count all the pickerel too!) Works for me, so I'll use it!
