Green/blue baits--a theory
Its all speculation as is most things in fishing. If it works for you and you have confidence in it fish it. One person is gonna say yes its color while the next is gonnq say color doesn't matter. I think at times color makes no difference but ive seen too many times that small nuances in color made all the difference.

Which new Trolling Motor
Wow, definitely not a good way to try to steal some would be ultrex customers. Id say I'll go with the ultrex myself and I also have the regular 93sv the version before the echomap plus. Didnt realize this about the transducer. I do work in a fab shop tho so I could definitely fashion something from aluminum thatll work to shim up the space. Shoot me a pm and maybe I can help u out as well. Be just as easy to make a cple as it would one.

Which new Trolling Motor
I honestly don't much care about linking graphs and trolling motors. I definitely see the advantages but all I want is the spotlock feature. Ive long been a motorguide guy and I'm patiently waiting on the new tour pro to be a little more mainstream. I haven't looked in the last few weeks but a month ago they weren't in stock anywhere. I can get the ultrex from my dealer a little cheaper than msrp but I want to know about the motorguide first. Buddy has the ghost and loves it but I'm not a Lowrance guy. The garmin is too expensive and I've hear of quite a few problems from the ultrex. Definitely a big decision given the price of any of em. Personally I will end up with an ultrex or tour pro by spring. As stated none of them are gonna work with those stryker units. Probably the safest bet is the ultrex they're everywhere and plenty of info out about them

Green/blue baits--a theory
I've had a lot of success locally on these colors myself. Everyone swears by regular green pumpkin but ive had way more success and caught a lot more big fish with moon juice etc. Never really gave it this much thought but honestly I'd say you are exactly right. Definitely makes a lot of sense to me.

New Boat Help
Unless you're fishing big rough water that vexus would be an awesome rig. Local guy has one and loves it. Ive always fished glass boats but bought a triton 18tx last year and have been pleasantly pleased with it. There are times I wish it was a little bigger and heavier but the pros far outweigh the cons for my fishing style. Have fished several tournaments over the last year from it.

Way2slow, are you out there?
Sounds like you're the kind of friend we all need a few more of! Good for you for helping her out like that, sucks....but not as bad as the borderline criminal way these dealers try to do people! I'm sure you saved her a ton of stress to go along with the money.

Shimano SLX - Stiff out of the Box
I've noticed on all of those reels that I've had they tend to free up a lot with use. Id say DVT is right about what ur spool problems were tho

Set up for Weightless and Weighted plastics.
If they're serving you well then I'd continue to use them. Pretty well known issues with the 70 tho of them just not holding up. Just Google it or look at reviews on tacklewarehouse. I love the ergonomics but I've owned a cple and much prefer the k myself. Of course the crowd says lews are garbage and I run several that I love so its all a matter of opinion!

Life Jacket
I'm an avid tournament fisherman...love it...but have towed other boats back to the dock a few times during a tournament. Things like this give the sport and especially tournament guys a bad name and are just hard for any decent human being to understand. Believe id have had to let those guys know how I felt about it. Good job on helping them out things can go south in a hurry when people get tired in the water!

Wacky rig and hookup percentage
I don't like any wacky hooks that have the metal weed guard. They work better at being weedless but i too missed a lot of fish because of the stiff weedguard. I switched to the trokar weedless hooks and never looked back. Id say a lot of what ur thinking ur missing is small fish and bluegill. Ive never had a big problem missing fish with any hook.

Set up for Weightless and Weighted plastics.
Totally disagree on the suggestions for the 70 over the k, or several other options for that matter. K seems to be a much better built reel to me and much smoother. The tatula sv is likely the favorite for weightless plastics as its so user friendly. I use a lews tournament pro lfs but if I were to buy something different it would be the sv. Never been impressed by the 70 myself.

What’s in your hands and in the water most of the time?
7'6 cabelas tournament zx rod and lews tournament pro lfs reel, 15 or 20 lb red label and a 3/8 d&l jig

BCP rods vs Brand Name Rods
I disagree with the above statements. Ive fished several different brands over the years and i personally don't think you're gonna beat the value of the cabelas, bps brand rods. Ive got several cabelas tournament zx rods, a cple of the carbonlite 2.0 and a pro qualifier. All excellent rods especially at the prices i paid. I rarely pay retail so for the sale prices they are often ran at i haven't personally seen an equal. Ive fished some st croix, cple of the older loomis, falcon, 13, garcia, halo, and shimano for reference. Obviously people have varying opinions but in my experience to get a rod from the big names in fishing rods that performs as well as what i have id have to spend considerably more $. If they're not your cup of tea don't buy em. Just don't overlook then because of the name on em. I also love that I can ride 15 minutes to cabelas and have a new rod rather than having to ship and pay fees etc.

Tips for new boat owners?
I took a stopwatch with me and did mine exactly like the manual says to do it. Went one evening and got the break in over so I didnt have to try and keep up with it while fishing or in a tournament. Other than that I'd just keep the oil checked once a month or so assuming its a 4 stroke. I bought a new one last year and babied it til this past weekend. Big tournament and I beached it for convenience and scratched up the bottom pretty good. Doesnt affect anything but makes me sick i was that foolish. Just be smart with it and think things through and you'll be just fine. Congrats on the new boat and good luck with it! Post some pics when u get it!

PTSD & a SITTING BOAT
Thank you for your service, my dad is a marine corps veteran himself. I personally would change all the fluids, put new plugs in it, drain the gas and clean it up good. Also put in a new impeller/water pump. New batteries and id look and ask around to find a good boat mechanic. Most dealers around here are kind of shady and have no interest in working on boats they didn't sell especially older boats. I wouldnt trust most dealers to not feed me a line trying to make money. Id guess if it was running good and you do those things it is probably still running good. Just find someone reputable to take it to if it isn't. Best of luck with it!

When you're on a boat and...
I always check out the lake if its a new one for porta John's etc. If nothing and its a have to case I've hit the woods a time or 2. Keep a roll or 2 in the boat

Choosing between deals...experience appreciated
Id definitely go the basscat route if everything checks out. Those evinrudes would worry me especially now and if it needs work I'd steer clear. Basscat is newer, likely as good or better built boat and id want the mercury. Good luck

Favorite Jerk bait!?!
Megabass vision 110 in the variations for whatever the conditions call for. Tennessee shad is my go to color

In your opinion
Of those 3 id get the dobyns. Never been big on st croix and like posted above don't believe the e6x are worth their price.

$64,000 Question ~
I would just like to be more efficient with my electronics. I feel like that's the missing link for me....although there are plenty more id like answered lol. I can use my graphs and have caught fish using them but just would like to be more confident in what I'm looking at

Yum Dingers
I fish the dingers exclusively and have seen several occasions that they out fished the senko. Can't argue with the senkos effectiveness but I refuse to pay that much for stick baits. My buddy fishes senkos all the time tho so we have compared them a bunch

How many “main” setups do you have?
I have 14 total bass setups. Typically take between 8 and 10 and use about 4
