  1. Gallon zip lock bags in original bags and separated by type in a small cabelas tackle bag.
  2. I wouldn't pay any attention to what anyone thinks as far as eating them. I personally dont but have no issue with it. Id pay a lot more attention to etiquette as far as not cutting people off or fishing on top of them. That gets to me much more than anyone keeping a bass would. I wouldn't keep a 5 lb fish to eat but its legal I guess lol. As others have stated I've never kept or ate a bass in my life but I grew up around tournament fishing, but its totally your right to keep and eat them all you want as long as you're obeying the laws
  3. I used to order probably 80 percent of my gear from tacklewarehouse. Their prices were a little better than most, their sales were great, and I always got my stuff in a timely manner. The last couple years seems like they've jacked their prices up to basically the same as basspro etc, their 2 day Shipping turned into 3 for my location anyway, just haven't been nearly as pleased with my dealings with them as I once was. Haven't ordered anything from them in months and all this stuff going on hasn't helped. I get that this covid stuff has taken a toll, but everywhere else I order from seem to be basically operating as normal. May not be the case but seems to me they're doing a lot of selling but don't want to spend the money on the appropriate work force to handle the amount of business. As always just my opinion and id love to see them operating like they used to! I've sent a lot of business their way over the years
  4. I ordered 2 of the 100 packs a cple months ago myself. I'm sure they're great i just haven't used the 4 inch yet. Have had some luck with the 3 or 3.5 inch yo mama in the back of a jig. Im sure they're as effective as most other beavers or creatures
  5. I agree that these guys are for the most part just better fisherman than the average Joe. I also realize they fish what their sponsors make at least when the camera is around. I do feel that as far as line size and types go they fish what they feel is their best option for given situations. With 300k or whatever it was on the line im sure he was using what he thought was the best for the situation. I personally use fluoro for most everything as well but a lot of guys would disagree with it being superior. It is interesting to see what they use tho...skeet comes to mind. One of my favorite anglers but I wouldn't give a plug nickel for those rods or reels he uses. Seems to work well for him tho..
  6. Compared to the keitechs the rage swimmers are much more durable in my experience. I dont know that ur gonna get more durable without compromising action. I find the rage to be the perfect blend of action vs durability
  7. Id go to Walmart and buy a white strike king spinnerbait, a pack of yum dingers in green pumpkin, a couple of strike king jigs one black and blue and one green pumpkin, a pack of rage craws in summer craw, 2 strike king kvd squarebills one sexy shad and one black and chartreuse, a pack of 3/0 gamakatsu ewg hooks for the dingers and a pack of 1/4 oz strike king tungsten weights. That should come in right around 40 bucks and would cover the majority of situations. Guy I work with fished a tournament with us a while back and this is what he did. He caught several on the jigs and spinnerbait and he and his partner won.
  8. I doubt anyone can confidently say what a bass sees. I see that the color blue works so I fish it lol. Never really thought about it
  9. As is usually the case...its your opinion and choice. I personally pack everywhere i go and have quit going to the few places I can't. I can physically handle myself in most situations and it has nothing to do with fear. In my opinion its common sense and self preservation. Should we need to pack guns...no. in a perfect world I wouldn't even want to. Ive been in a couple sketchy situations and I figure times are only going to get crazier. I take my wife and daughter and my dad occasionally who is getting up there in years. I'm not going to let anyone harm them and I feel better about my chances if I am armed. I hope and pray I never have a need for a gun...but if I ever do and don't have one I can't call timeout and go get it. I'm sure millions of murdered people or robbery victims thought they didn't need one either.
  10. Id venture to guess most of us are guilty of being wreckless when we were younger. Its sad that some don't get to make it out in one piece like we apparently did. Doesn't make us any smarter or them dumb just means we were lucky. I know I've put myself in some horrible situations and only fate or luck could be the reason I'm able to type this right now. Age tends to bring wisdom...this kid didn't get that chance. Prayers to his family and hopefully someone will learn from these things and maybe save a few lives!
  11. X2 on the tournament pro. I have several. Actually think I like the custom pro a little better but its more $. At 139 the tournament pro is the real deal
  12. I really like the basspro carbonlite rods and the pro qualifier rods. The pro qualifier rods were on sale a couple days ago for 69 i believe. I have one i use for shallow cranking and its been great so far. Love that if I have any problems or break one I can run to cabelas and swap it out in 15 minutes.
  13. x2. It probably won't hurt anything but I've had a ton of reels from most manufacturers and have never had one let water in like that k. If it doesn't both u thats great...as long as there are better options that don't do that im not using them.
  14. X2 or the custom pro is my favorite all around reel currently
  15. Check out usa bassin KY. There are divisions at most lakes of any size. I fish the guist creek, cedar creek and sometimes cave run. There is also ntba skeeter trail on cave run that pays out a lot more money. Couple of opens and one 10k tournament on cave run also.
  16. They were great reels especially when they came out. I personally don't know that I'd take one in any way over a k except for durability. Guess thats yet to be determined on the k. I think its a mixed bag on why they're still so sought after. 1....they were great reels 2...they don't make them anymore. I've said for years if shimano would bring the e7 back i think they would sell a ton of em.
  17. My last 2 rigs have had them. My new boat is a year old and the dealer told me basically what is listed above to check em yearly but supposedly maintenance free for so many years. U like the concept but I also kinda prefer the old fashioned shoot 2 squirts of grease and roll on. It does seem to be standard on all the new rigs and maybe time will give me more confidence. I wanna say my last rig had little button covers that as long as they could be pushed in meant it was good.
  18. What gear ratio is the coastal? If it were mine I'd probably move it to the med heavy rod and use it with 20 lb fluoro for spinnerbaits and bladed jigs. Move the sx in the 7 ratio to the flippin stick if you go that route. Lots of decisions but I think 4 combos is a good number kinda let's you cover everything if setup the right way. Good luck with it and let us know what you end up going with!
  19. Is it removable? I'd assume if its not you're gonna make a heck of an eye sore trying to remove it. I dislike em myself but if it were made into the glass and not removable I wouldn't attempt removing it
  20. Considering what you already have i would have to have a 7'6 heavy for flippin duties. I can't see myself without my flippin sticks. Every time I attempt throwing plastics or jigs on my shorter lighter rods I find myself missing or losing fish. I'm sure others have different options but if I had the arsenal you have I'd definitely add one to my collection. You've got the 7' medium rod I'd use it for treble hook baits. The medium heavy for spinnerbaits and bladed jigs as well as lighter Texas rigs and senkos etc.
  21. I personally think the Fuego is an easier reel to use. Better...thats opinion. I have that carbonlite revo combo and I've been satisfied with it. Love the rod...like the reel. For the money you're not going to beat it for a new combo. The fury and fuego would serve you well also but be a little more money probably.
  22. I understand the frustration I've been there. To be fair tho the gen 3 revos weren't well received and those lews aren't the popular models. The tournament mb reels for example would sell pretty quickly. Those are good reels for sure im sure they will sell just give it some time. Plus the covid deal probably has some effect on it. The curado g reels weren't a hit but an e series still sells for a premium
  23. I like to buy gear and do occasionally sell some. Obviously resale value matters but honestly if its what I want i buy it. Making statements about them being inferior based on resale is a little harsh. Daiwa and shimano have cult like followings. They both make great gear for sure but its hard to say they're superior. What one thinks is the greatest thing since sliced bread is garbage to the next guy. I will agree abu doesn't seem to hold their value as much as even lews. Everyone says they're the same reels but in my experience lews are superior. I'm sure someone will say the opposite. If you're not satisfied with them don't buy them. I love my daiwas but also my lews. For heavier chuck and wind applications hard to beat a lews but for lighter baits or anything where i want a lot of control i prefer the daiwas.
  24. I would have a two prong approach and both have already been suggested. Finesse presentations like ned rig, drop shot and shakey heads will catch some heavily pressured fish. Also i would try to fish something not everyone throws. Bigger swimbaits for example are something i rarely see people around here throwing but they work great at a local lake with a big bass population that gets hammered to death.
