Bass Boat Advice
I have owned 3 stratos boats and was always pleased with them. Ive never talked to anyone thats owned a stratos that had anything negative to say. Id do my homework and make sure everything checks out...and if it does id have no problems owning one! I think theyre great boats and sharp as well

Chatterbait rod
I know guys fish em on glass rods but I personally agree with the above statements. Its not quite a jig hook set for me but definitely more than treble hooks. If I'm fishing more open water I like a med heavy, if I'm in a lot of thick grass I like a heavy to help me rip it out of the grass. Obviously this is one technique that isn't a one size fits all kinda deal. I fish these baits a lot and have never felt a need for a softer rod

Casting Reel for Dobyns 806CB (Deep Cranks)
Id personally go with a curado k in the 6 ratio. The slx reels are nice but I have a couple and they just dont feel as refined under a load as the curados. Also don't think they'll hold up to that kind of stress like the curado. I use the slx reels for lighter techniques. The curado also holds more line which I prefer for deep cranking.

You can only use one fishing line type all your life...
Fluoro by a mile

6' 9" MH Casting Rod - What to use it for?
Several things that rod would excel at. Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, light jigs and Texas rigs anywhere where you're in tight quarters, weightless senkos, wacky rigs, bigger jerkbaits, as stiff as those rods are id probably use it for a frog myself. Most guys seem to like longer rods for froggin but I prefer 7' or shorter.

24v Trolling motor batteries, and charger recommendations...
the Duracells are great! I've ran ever starts from wal mart with a minn kota or dual pro charger for years with no issues. Trolling motor mechanic i know thats retired engineer and is wealthy suggested I run them as there are Walmart stores everywhere and should i have problems while on the road its easy to swap one or whatever. Theyrr cheap and ive generally gotten 5 years outta them if i do my part and keep em maintained. Ran the Duracells in my last rig because it came with em and had nothing negative to say about them either

New Finesse Rig

Question about selling
I would avoid such dealings with strangers. Id fish it till you're done and then sell it. Too many unknown variables etc. If there are that many interested im sure one still will be when your ready to sell it

Lews BB1 or Tournament MB, which should cast further?
For a deep cranking reel id go with the bb1 of those 2. The mb is a nice reel but I feel like the bb1 is better suited for cranking. Either will cast great if setup correctly

Bandito Bug Review
Everyone has given them credit and simply said they'd rather use other baits. Doesnt sound like hate to me. I think they're brilliant...I'm welding every day and they're fishing and having fun making money doing it. They found a niche and have taken advantage of it. Just nothing I have any desire to help fund. If their stuff works for you and you like it fish it all you want.

Good place to buy a fish finder?
I've used hodges marine and GPS store with good results in the past.

Boat Upgrades
If the boat is rated for a 135 I wouldn't put a 150 on it. Besides obvious reasons it may be hard to sell if its over powered. Id fish it for a lil while and see what your plans are for it. If you know you're going to upgrade in a few years I'd hold off on everything I could get by without. Those are nice boats tho and if you decided it was all you needed then I'd proceed with the upgrades

Bandito Bug Review
It says googan on it so I'll pass. Absolutely no hate towards any of them, congrats that they've been successful. I just refuse to support it by paying double what the baits are worth. Ill stick to my zoom and missile baits.

Run&Gun or Low&Slow
All depends on whats going on at that time and where im at. I have one lake I tournament fish q lot and its usually run and gun til i run into the fish then ill slow way down. Another lake is tough and the places that hold populations of bass are few and far between so its usually a lot more of a slow down and finesse em into biting kinda deal. I'm sure there are times I run when I should stay and vise versa but I do both at times. Never like mentioned above tho I don't get all crazy about it. Presentation is everything and I don't feel like you're presenting anything correctly if you're always ready to move on to the next spot

Best hulls/motors of the 1990s?
None of those stand out as anything I've ever heard anything negative about. Ranger hulls have basically always been good, champion is sought after, still see a ton of older stratos boats and ive owned 3 and was satisfied with all. Triton makes a fine boat as well and I'm sure that skeeter is as well. Know nothing about Yamaha and locally its hard to find someone to work on them. The other 3 motors were great. Good luck!

Bait Cast bug has got me again
Any of them can be used for whatever you choose to use them for. If it's never going to be used for light baits then the mgl may not be needed. The regular slx is impossible to beat for the money. The xt is arguably worth the extra money for what it offers as well. Its all personal preference. I fish several curado k reels and 2 slx reels and like them all. Was never a fan of the curaro 70. The slx feels smoother and easier to manage to me for a lot less money.

Question for you guys that have used multiple reel brands (lews and daiwa)
The tatula 100 as well as the new ones are all more compact. Also the shimano slx series are super compact and comfortable to fish. The lews are compact but ive came to the conclusion they just aren't going to hold up like the daiwas and shimanos for how I fish anyway. Ive long been a lews fan but usually after 2 years with regular maintenance even the upper end lews reels just don't retain their smoothness like the shimano and daiwas seem to. Lots of die hard lews guys tho and if you like them fish em! I used to be all shimano, went to lews years ago, fished a lot of daiwas and have came back to mostly shimano. Lots of good options out there these days

Flippin/pitching set up
I fish a lot of grass and I never use braid. I prefer 20 lb fluoro and just check my line often. I don't really do any punching but am in the grass a lot with my baits. I can see how id have to adjust if I went to straight braid because I crack it hard with my current setup. With the lack of stretch in braid I could see ripping holes in their mouths and losing some. Maybe try a less aggressive hook set or the med heavy rod and see what happens

Can a reel affect the depth a deep crank can go?
I would assume the curado is getting the plug to depth quicker if you're reeling the same speed. I dont do a lot of deep cranking but of those 2 I'd go with the curado. Ive concluded I don't want anything slower than a 6 ratio for anything I fish including deep cranks. I agree the curado feels much better with a load on it as well

Kayak vs Boat
Obviously kayaks have blown up in popularity and I get it. I'm getting a few years on me and honestly have no desire to fish from one. We've tried it a cple times and I can see the appeal....but i will stick with my bass boat. Its all gonna be personal preference and what kind of fishing you're gonna be doing as well as the area. You're gonna have to figure all that out for yourself. Good luck with it!

Are Force motor really that bad?
Surprised someone hasn't already shut this down. Seen em shut down for a lot less than this. Dude asked an honest question and has been given honest answers. Apparently force motors have a bad rap. If you have a good one awesome. I personally would steer clear simply based on history and so many "better" options

A "hold on to bait"?
I too fish with everything I own or at least plan to. If I had something worth a lot I'd sell it. I dont understand the value of things like lures...as well as plenty of other stuff...just the market. Anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I have plenty of gear without "collecting" it. Got a buddy thats big into it tho he has a room that's just his collection of older valuable fishing gear

Why buy a high end reel (metanium dc, steez...)? Are they worth it?
I totally believe its user preference. They are nicer and definitely make the experience a little more desirable. I personally have always set my limit at 200 bucks and have been pleasantly pleased with most. Is a metanium nicer than the slx? Absolutely! Is it 300 dollars nicer? I dont think there's any way it can be. Ive got a few curado k reels and see no reason for anything any more expensive. The tatula sv reels are great as well. If one has the funds to comfortably afford high high end gear and wants it who am i to judge or even care. I don't even want to own anything really expensive because if it did seem that much better id be tempted to buy several more. Ive used a buddies metanium and it was definitely a sweet reel but didn't blow me away like I felt a 400 dollar reel should. I dont believe anyone should go the high end route expecting it to help their fishing.....just makes the fishing possibly more enjoyable
