  1. 7" Powerbait worm pumpkinseed color. My need a limit quick bait. It never lets me down. If I need a kicker fish I go to a 5" Powerbait hawg junebug color or a 1/2 oz Terminator jig with a Uncle josh pork rind usually black and red. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  2. This is true but a couple years ago when browning wasn't doing to well they quit making reels. Then the next year they start again?? I think you may be right but I still think it's a little odd that BPS reels all changed then one of thier old models shows up as a browning reel. I think that the same company is making reels for Bass Pro and Browning.
  3. Reels DAIWA Rods St. Croix Spinnerbaits Hand made by me, or terminator Soft plastics " " or Powerbait Jigs " " or Terminator Crankbaits Bomber Hooks Owner line Berkely XT
  4. A couple years ago I was night fishing on Patoka lake Indiana. I was throwing a 1/2 oz black buzzbait when a OWL swooped down and grabed my bait in mid air. The owl hooked himself and flew about 30 yards before I could cut my line. I miss the buzzbait but it leaves me with a good story to tell. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  5. I noticed that BPS has updated almost all of their rod and reels. One thing that caught my eye was that the new Browning Midas baitcast and spinning reels are identical to last years Johnny Morris models the color is different but it has all the same specs. I think that BPS is making Brownings reels for them. Look in the new catalog "browning midas reels" then look back at the old one " Johnny Morris reels", and let me know what you think. I was surprised that they did not have any new Nitro boat models out for 2005. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  6. 8) I have just been looking around. I've seen a few good deals on ebay, just waiting for the perfect boat at the right price. We got 30" of snow last week which has really put me into cabin fever status. Keep coming with the usefull info and opinions. I really appreciate it. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  7. Wow a bunch of Minn Kota guys out there. I am a Motorguide man my self. I had a 65lb thrust Maxxum and the switch burnt up twice, the composite shaft is nice but I couldn't keep the thing running. So I bought a new 67 lb thrust Motorguide used it heavily all year with no complaints. One more reason I think Motorguide is a better motor is because 2 out of 3 Pro fisherman on the B.A.S.S. Circuit use a motorguide!!
  8. I prefer brass weights. But I do paint these. I use a product called dippin dye. It comes in several colors. And works great!!
  9. I prefer to Texas rig my Creature baits. I don't peg the sinker most of the time it gives the bait a different fall. I like a tube bait lizard or worm when carolina riggin. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  10. I think Pitchin can be a better technique than flippin if done correctly. Pitchin keeps you back a little farther from your target, and with much practice you can get your bait to land as softly as you can flippin. Just get your trusty Pitchin stick and go and stand in your yard. Pour a cup of flour on the ground and pitch to it usually 15-20 ft from the flour. After you start hitting your target concetrate on how much of the powder " dust " comes up. When you get to the point that the bait kicks up very little to no dust youv'e go it mastered and your ready to start pitchin. I have Kevin Vandam's Pitchin to heavy hitters video it is a very good one I reccomend it to everyone!! Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  11. I really like the Hoodaddys. The junior size is my favorite. I rig it Texas style with a 3/0 wide gap owner hook, usually with a 1/8 oz brass sinker. I recently bought a couple bags of the new Yamamoto Kreatures they look really good but I haven't used them yet. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  12. I'm going to work on my Deep water spinnerbaiting this year. I've seen a bunch of guys fishing those 1oz - 1 1/2 oz spinnerbaits in 15 - 20 ft of water. I plan on working on this. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  13. I know some of the bassmaster magazines have them advertised. I would look through your old mags! The set should be updated in January with this past classic included. They will probably advertise it in the January or Febuary edition. Bass Pro shops has a good line of videos. I have several!! My six favorites are as follows. Wormin with WOO / Woo Daves Structure School / Woo Daves Woo's Clues / Woo Daves Pitchin to heavy hitters / Kevin Vandam Spinnerbait Tactics / Kevin Vandam Carolina Rig / Stacy King They can all be purchased at Bass Pro Shops. I think they are only $9.95 per video. It has been money well spent. I have over 15 videos that I purchased from BPS. Hope this helps Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  14. 8)Exactlly no substitute for experince!!! I always try to stay focused and aware of my surroundings. I learned this year that something very subtle can be a big difference in catching and not catching. I was fishing a buddy tournament in early July of this year, my partner was killin em on a carolina rig in 8' of water. I changed my approch and went to the C rig. We were both using the same bait same color same leader length. Everything was the same except he had a glass rattle in his 10" worm and I didn't. After he caught about 3 keepers to my one I put a rattle in my worm and that was the difference we really put it on everyone. We won that pot tournament by 6 lbs. A few other guys were fishing the Carolina rig also but I think we were the only ones with the rattle. We had a five fish limit of 16lbs 9oz. No one else had a limit and we culled fish almost all day. It amazed me how something so small could make such a big difference!! Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  15. The SLUMP Everybody gets the slump jinx!!! I will usually try to go some place where I know I can catch fish. Just putting fish in the boat of any size will help get your confidence level back up. Stick to your confidence baits and techniques and fight thru it the fish are bound to hit EVENTUALLY. 16. Any one have one of these new color graphs? Whats the pros and cons of getting one of these? Are they really woth the extra $$$ Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  17. You may want to take it to a dealership!! Sounds like maybe your foot control switch is going bad!!! You may also want them to check your wire. I prefer 6 gauge it's plenty stout enough for a 12 volt trolling motor!!!!!!!!!
  18. Thanks for the replys!! I'm still lookin for more info!! Thanks, Fatdaddy151
  19. It's not the boat that catches fish but the fisherman!!! I ain't laughin!!! We all share a common passion for bass fishin wether we have a $50,000.00 boat and $20,000.00 in equipment, or fish from the bank and only have one rod and reel. It's still great just goin Bassin!!! 20. Welcome to the Forum Mainer!! I joined one week ago and I think about 25 people have joined since I did!!!! This is a blast and I've learned alot about bass fishing.
  21. Sounds like you have the basics covered!! One thing that you have listed that works for me is slow fishing I mean very slow fishing!!! Work your soft plastic baits " like a 10" -12" inch worm" as slow as you can stand let it sit for one to two minutes before moving it and move it very little when you do. You won't catch many fish doing this but hang on when one hits, Big fish almost refuse to chase anything most of the year. Fishing this slow takes a large amount of concntration, so stay focused!!! Its always wise to try and locate large fish before going to it because it will wear you out. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
  22. Nice reels I prefer Daiwa's my self but the Shimanos are just as nice. I would not recommend using the Curado in saltwater, unless you plan on tearing the reel down every time you do and rinsing all the small parts and oiling them. I think the curado has carbonized gears and parts these will rust very quickly!! The bearings would probably be ok for occasional use but the gears and other parts would rust like crazy. Try to get a 7' MH rod for this reel it will make it more of an all purpose outfit. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy 151
  23. Some times speeding your retrive helps, creates a reaction strike. Keep trying different retrives and colors, I assume the water clarity is clear so color can be the key. Also try down sizing or upgrading the baits you've been using.
  24. :oI like the DOUBLE Fluke rig for a reaction bait. The two flukes dance and chase each other. Works awesome!! I learned this rig from a Woo Daves Video. When the fishing is slow this works well. I also like the jig technique mentioned above!! Tight Lines, Fatdaddy 151
  25. ;)My dad had the same problem with his boat. I think he said the Marina replaced the wire coming from the voltage regulator. I'm not sure though I'll ask him about it and get back with ya. Tight Lines, Fatdaddy151
