  1. Look at page 3 or whatever. The front page just shows the sales dates with no year on it. Page 3 talking about buying boats does of 2020.
  2. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/online-catalogs?catalogCode=BassPro/SFC_20_19_tab The one I am looking at with KVD on the front right section on the front page is the 2020 ad
  3. As I feared last year's sale appears to be much better. I find it said when stores do what they did here with the Shimano stuff. Show what all they have in their huge sale flyer and the price is not lowered a single dime LOL
  4. Had a quick question about using a leader. Do you use some spare FC or mono (that somewhat matches both line diameters) or do you use line that is specifically labeled as leader line?
  5. Update us, I'd like to hear if you got it or not LOL
  6. Was this through eBay? Do you have the seller's username? If you don't want to share it publicly could you PM it? I may be in the market.
  7. What specific model did you get? You mentioned getting a great deal, is it something you could share?
  8. I'm curious to hear opinions on how this specific rod would handle chatter baits, spinner baits and trick worms up to 10 inch worms.
  9. It worked for me December and early January
  10. Hmm, I am considering this exact same question. Does anyone else have experience with both lines and have an opinion?
  11. When you have had a chance to use them both I will be curious to hear how you compare the Zodias to the Expride.
  12. How would this double as a frog rod?
  13. LTBSAVESQ1 What are you getting?
  14. Tom, you have had be thinking about this technique you use. I may be in the market for a new jig/pitch/frog rod but I do not see a ton of options that would handle these presentations well, around 7'3" or roughly in that neighborhood and have a small cork foregrip above the reel, preferably with a split cork grip and under $250 or so. Seems like G Loomis is about the only manufacture making them still with this type of foregrip but I imagine it would exceed my budget. Do you know of any other models I should check out?
  15. The whole reason I am "overthinking" this is because at the moment I still have all the stickers and tags on this to where I could return it or sell it as new. If I use it for a while and all that yes I could sell it but it would not be as new and I would lose money on this deal. So I am at this moment just considering my options. That means putting a reel on an old rod I have that has a foregrip on it and simulating what I would be doing and see what I think. It also means I need to figure out what rods I should consider if I chose the different rod route. It may be that I stick with what I got as it certainly would work just fine. I just want to pursue this idea a bit, gather information and see what's best for me.
  16. Would that great affect the balance of the rod, though? I'm considering doing this, getting a new rod altogether or just fishing this one as is.
  17. Hi, I MAY be looking for a new rod to double as my jig (3/8oz to 3/4oz) & pitch soft plastics rod AS WELL as my hollow body frog rod. A few weeks ago I bought a Doybns Champion 735C to do this job and thought I was good to go. But having never fished a jig or pitched soft plastics I have been reading a lot on here about it and what Tom has written on the subject about how much easier it is to detect bites if you hold the line in between your thumb and pointer finger and that makes a lot of sense to me. I imagine that would be a lot easier/comfortable to do with a small foregrip above the reel. The problem is my Dobyns does not offer this and it does not sound like "adding" a foregrip to it is the best idea. I realize this is not the only way to fish these kind of presentations but I figured if this sounds like the one that will give me the best sensitivity then maybe since I have no other habits I should start doing this from the get-go. I may fool around and determine I can make it work for me without one but to cover my bases I decided I better start looking around and consider what route I would go IF I decided to return the Dobyns and go with something else. Problem is most rods today do not have a foregrip so options can be limited. I was hoping some of you can give me some recommendations based upon what type of presentations I want this rod to handle and that have a foregrip on them. If it matters I prefer split cork grips compared to full grips. Would like to stay around 200 bucks for it but would consider more if a great option was out there.
  18. I am totally new to jig fishing. I just bought a Dobyns Champion 735C as a jig/frog rod. Read a ton on here about jig fishing and what Tom talks about holding the line in between your thumb and pointer finger makes a lot of sense to me. I imagine that would be a lot easier/comfortable to do with a small foregrip. So I need to start thinking if this is important to me, and if so do I need to get a new rod or is it something that can be "added" if that would be a bad idea.
  19. I am not sure I would want to do it to a specific rod I own but I have read on here about guys wanting to add a 2" foregrip to a rod. How is this done? Does it look bad or feel "cheap"? Really ruin the balance/characteristics of the rod?
  20. I would assume Lew's will soon be putting out new items with KVD's name on it, matching the type of equipment he had Quantum make him? So possibly hold out a bit?
  21. $150 for a free shirt
  22. Unfortunately they canceled the trip last second!
  23. What is this "Kaden" series? Where does it fit in the hierarchy of Colt, Sierra, Champion, etc?
