  1. Isn't there a second boat ramp there at sailboat cover? Either spot certain baits you'd recommend?
  2. I am thinking about hitting Jacomo tomorrow with boat and my 9 year old for LMB. I've never fished Jacomo this early in the year and was curious if anyone had some tips or spots (preferably near one of the ramps) they would recommend?
  3. Last year I bought a 14 foot jon boat that the guy built up into a bass boat. He got a lot of ideas from the Tiny Boat Nation group and put these "letters" with some sort of adhesive on that back down directly on the boat carpet. There are a few more with Booyah or Abu Garcia on them and I want to take them off. When I saw them I figured they could simply be heated up with a hair dryer and peel them up pretty quickly. NOPE! My wife and I both when out today with pairs of tweezers to try to work on them about about 45 minutes later we had not made a ton of headway. Finger nails are not real productive and with the tweezers you kind of pull more more of the carpet than you'd like and I don't want to damage the carpet nor take the time and money to pull it up and put new back on. Anyone have ideas on better ways to get this off the carpet quicker and more effectively?
  4. Last year I bought a 14 foot jon boat that was built up into a bass boat. It came with a pretty thin cover for it that I think he bought at Academy Sports. This thing is so thin it is almost a dust cover and I think makes sense because he kept it in his garage but due to a lack of room I have to keep it outside and Missouri weather is not always kind! The main problem was it was so thin and the elements wore it down and also I regularly scooped snow off of it with a bucket and I think when I was doing that I was wearing down the material. Some holes were small but others are starting to flap with the wind. But now I need to get something that will last longer, is it just a matter of getting something thicker and higher quality material? The Bass Pro sales flyer arrived today and an item caught my eye. Their "trailer tite" series of boat covers are 30% off. It's hard to tell from a picture but it look like a quality item, anyone have experience with these? My jon is 14 foot and the beam is about 55 inches. Looking at their website the model that would probably be best is the 14'-16' model that had a beam width of 75 inches. Is that simply too big for a great fit? Do you have another model you would recommend I check out?
  5. Yeah, I don't think there is anything "wrong" with it. It is just that it does not feel the same as the other. You'll certainly hear from me this winter.
  6. The plan was to take your advice and send them to you in the off season. I know you recommend to "fish them hard" but if one of them only gets fished 10 times or so this year can I still send it to you when the time comes?
  7. I own two Curado K reels, one is the 6 speed and the other is the 8. I bought both brand new and were delivered in completely sealed boxes and had no sign of ever being tampered with. Anyway, the 6 is like INSANELY buttery smooth. I can sit there reeling something back and feel like there is no resistance whatsoever it is so smooth. The 8 feels much more "normal" as to what I would expect. With both reels in my hand and no line on the spool (and the same settings with the spool tension, brakes and drag) I can spin the handles of the 6 a few times and pull my hand off it and it will continue to spin freely for a long time but with the 8 it is by no means problematic but certainly not as smooth and free spinning as the 6. Is there some simple adjustment or specific spot I could add oil to to make the 8 perform like the 6?
  8. I stole this from another thread on here. Has anyone ever used a trailer hook like this for frog fishing? Seems like it would certain up the old hook up percentage! Does this really affect how weedless it is? Pretty expensive option, though. Anyone have experience with something like this or have another model they would recommend? https://www.cabelas.com/product/LAKE-FORK-TROPHY-FROG-TAIL-HOOK/1754374.uts?slotId=4
  9. Didn't I read that MN had like the lowest rate of infection in the country or something?
  10. LOL I now realize I was thinking about you Russ! Got my "local" guys mixed up there for a second! This stay at home stuff must be getting to my brain!
  11. My brain must be on the fritz. I thought I remembered you saying you caught your PB on a bait you are not too fond of and I thought it was a fluke for some reason.
  12. Didn't you catch your PB on a fluke? LOL
  13. I was gifted 3 poppers the other day from a lady I know who's husband recently had to give up fishing due to his age. I don't think they were ever fished and the wife said they were probably 10-15 years old. They are about 2.5" long and have like #4 trebles. I am thinking they are MAYBE made by Rapala? Was hoping someone could identify them or if nothing else recognize the paint patterns so the brand could be figured out.
  14. Crap, looks like they do not have any right handed 8.2 in stock any more
  15. You got a link for this?
  16. So you're saying I would need to weigh "the final product" and factor that in compared to the weight rating on the rod, correct?
  17. Been looking at jig rods and am looking at lure weight ratings on rods. I only use 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. That weight only relates to the jig head weight, correct? On a standard jig how much weight does a standard skirt and trailer (say a SK Rage craw because I use a lot of those) add to it?
  18. Notice the lack of the word Shimano in the ad
  19. You don't spend a ton of money to sign a guy like KVD then not put out his own signature series.
  20. Well if you find something that works....
