  1. No, I wouldn't want to appear greedy or anything
  2. Tell you what, Mike. The PERFECT arrangement has come to mind! While you have plenty of space in your garage to store my soft plastics I happen to have plenty of room in my garage to keep your BOAT. Please text me when you are free to make the swap and we'll make it happen! Thanks buddy!
  3. Does anyone have an idea for HOME storage of soft plastics? I thought about one of these but the price and the fact I will not be taking whatever I buy onto the boat this is not ideal: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/plano-7080-xxl-prolatch-stowaway-utility-box?searchTerm=xxl prolatch stowaway I am looking some something similar, however. I don't want the standard big tote you buy at Walmart. I want something that is this "tall" where I can set many bags of soft plastics in there, like a deck of cards on it's side if you know what I mean. Any specific suggestions?
  4. I understand why guys like bigger handles on their bait cast reels when throwing a large spinner bait, deep crank bait or any other bait that creates a lot of resistance during the retrieve. Are there certain applications where a smaller handle would be nice for whatever reason? Some companies from the factory might have different length handles in the same model depending on the gear ratio and such. Just curious if for bottom contact the smaller ones might better or if it did not matter much.
  5. I willbe interested in hearing what you think about that SK braid
  6. I assume you mean pre-order, correct? Where can you do that already?
  7. I am in the market for a new spinning reel. Coming at it more from the bait caster side of things and doing a lot of research I started to dig into specs and I was wondering if because there are not a wide variety of choices like with a BC reel is IPT and gear ratio considerations not really a thing with spinning reels?
  8. I guess part of my hesitation is is I think it would be weird to me to be fishing a dainty, finesse bait and be holding on to some large knob. I think I'd work it like a larger bait holding a larger knob but IDK .
  9. Do you have a preference between the T and regular knob?
  10. I like the look of that round knob at about the 15 second mark. I wonder what models it is available on?
  11. Good! I was hoping they would do something like this!
  12. http://fish.shimano.com/content/fish/northamerica/us/en/homepage/Shimano_Product_Page.P-VANFORD_F.html Looking at these models the ones towards the bottom have a "C" in them. What does that signify?
  13. Has there been any word as to when it will be available to order at most places?
  14. Has US pricing been announced yet?

  16. I am sort of in the same boat as you are. I saw you said you also owned a Curado K. I was curious why you never seemed to consider one for this purpose? Same weight but the K has a lot more line capacity for this type of fishing and about half the price. Again, I am not saying you made the wrong choice I just wanted some insight into your thought process as it might help me out in mine.
  17. Rod Sox for the win
  18. Lews announced a ton of new products today. Headlined by a TON of KVD rod and reels. Certainly expected after signing him, time to reap the benefits.
  19. I'd just settle for them finally sending out my order that I placed in January that all the back ordered items have been in stock since May....
  20. You are correct but the backlash never happened as I felt the "resistance" before I released my thumb from the spool. I had used a palomar knot to the oval split ring that comes stock with the bait. Again, everything worked fine before this incident. Because changing the lure was the quickest and easiest solution I took that 6XD off and tied another 6XD on. Problem remained being it is not the lure. I will probably need to first put a different reel on that rod and throw a 6XD again. Problem remains it is somehow the rod. If the problem goes away I will try the original reel on a different rod with a 6XD and I will learn where the problem lies.
  21. I cut maybe a foot of line off when re-tying. As I said I also I put a new/different 6XD on and the problem remained. I am going to put a different reel on the rod, and use the same bait. I will try some trial and error stuff to see where the problem lies and go from there I guess.
  22. Went out this morning with my 9 year old son to try to get on some hybrids at my local lake. I have a 7'10" Quantum KVD Tour rod paired up with Lews Tournament MB and 10# sniper. Anyway, I had a 6XD tied on and began slinging it around. A few casts in I reach back too far trying to bomb it out there and caught a treble hook in the seat and the bait stuck in the seat and the line popped. I got the hook out without much trouble and cut some line off and re-tied. So I made my next cast and something weird started happening. I started the retrieve and it did not feel right. I noticed the bait did not really start digging down like it should. It was not really "spiraling" like the line got wrapped around the hook or anything but I figured I would check it out when I got it back in the boat. I looked things over and the bill on the crank bait looked fine, nothing bent or broken. Threw it out again and the exact same thing. The lure probably got down 5-7 feet at best and never dug down in the water or offered much resistance, like a 6XD normally does. So now when I got it back I checked everything. The rod looks fine, the eyelets are all fine and it looks perfect. The reel felt smooth and other than the problem with the action or the bait it retrieved line like it should. I figured it was the crank so I grabbed a different one and tied it on. SAME THING! Now I am all confused. The rod appears perfect, and no settings or anything were changed on the reel and I changed the bait and that was the problem. Again, when the hook caught mid cast the line popped but all appears well. What is going on here???
