  1. Do they have *jurisdiction" over a private neighborhood pond?
  2. I own a Curado DC and the spool on it cannot be easily removed and replaced with another spool like most traditional bait cast reels. To those of you who own the SLX DC reel, is that the case with that reel? Or is it like the SLX or SLX XT reel where you can just pop the spool out?
  3. Are carp known to "slap" at baits with their bodies like catfish can do? I went to a neighborhood pond last night and caught two big carp, but ended up snapping both. One on the tail and one in the middle of the back. Weird.
  4. Drum? Asian carp? The eyes were very low on the face.
  5. Isn't that just something else to get caught up on stuff?
  6. My 9 year old son has a simple little 6'6" Abu Garcia bait cast rod that the insert has fallen out of the top eyelet on. I would ASSUME this should be an easy fix? My first problem is the insert itself. I assume all companies do not use the exact same eyelet insert size and all that? Once I get is it more than just doing a real clean job with Gorilla glue? Again, it is a cheap rod for a 9 year old that I am just trying to get usable again, does not need to be perfect. Ideas or thoughts?
  7. Just wanted to try them and i figured the screw lock would lengthen the life of the bait. I was fairly confident on the hook size to use but am still clueless as to which style of them to use for both.
  8. Oops, forgot the picture and adds it now
  9. As shocking as it may be I am new to fishing soft plastic worms. I bought some 5" Senkos and some 6.5" Trick worms. I also bought some 10" Zoom Ol' Monsters. I need some help deciding on the hooks to match up with them. I am wanting to try some of these Owner Twist Lock hooks but I have questions about the style and size to go with. For the Senkos/trick worms I was leaning towards the 3/0 size, would you agree or disagree with that size? (I probably should mention whichever hook size/style I go with I would also like to use for Zoom Super Flukes.) For the Ol' Monsters I was leaning towards the 5/0 size, would you recommend that or some other size? But I THOUGHT the size question was the only decision I had to make. Went to Bass Pro today and saw there are two different style of these hooks to consider as the photo here shows. The 5167 style of hook specifically says they are designed for Senko stick baits, for whatever the reason should I use this type for those types of baits? Which of these two should I use for the Ol' Monsters and why? If it helps with your answer to these two question I will most likely be T-rigging them on my 7'2" MH Expride with 16# Sniper FC.
  10. Again, I am cool waiting another 2 weeks if I have to. I am not sitting here demanding my stuff. I am just NOT cool with being told orders placed now get higher priority. That is BS and like you said should not be that way.
  11. Let me FIRST say I certainly understand the situation TW is under. Trouble getting items from vendors and they are supposedly down to a small crew there in house. However, today I learned of the "policy" they are following right now and it is upsetting me. I placed an order back in early December and there were 3 items that were not in stock at the time. I've been watching the status of them on their website to see when items were back in stock. 2 of the items came back pretty quickly but 1 took quite a while and I remained patient. Well, the last item came in a bit over 2 weeks ago. With everything going on I wasn't going to be "that guy" and demand my stuff now so I waited. After 2 weeks, though, I emailed them yesterday just to get an idea what was going on. They acknowledged all my items were now in stock BUT they said VERY few back orders are being sent out daily but that they are doing their best to send out new orders ASAP. Does this seem right to you? I took that as "we already have your money for old orders but because we want to get new money from new orders those orders/customers will get priority." Am I reading this situation correctly and am I right to be a bit upset? I would assume customers with new orders would naturally understand and expect it to take a hair longer than usual. But I think this is ridiculous for them to prioritize new orders over old that are ready to go and not just because I am a person that has an order as such. Am I wrong here?
  12. Wish I could prove it is available. I ordered one from TW back on 12/2 of last year. The date has now been pushed back like 6 times and currently it says it will not be in stock until sometime in September.
  13. I have been using Sunline Sniper for a bit and like it very much. However, I hear a lot of guys that like Assassin better and I am considering trying it the next time I need line. Can anyone that has used both give some impressions of both? Certain presentations you like one over the other? Just curious for some opinions you guys might have.
  14. Hey A-Jay, earlier this week I ordered a QUANTUM TOUR KVD TKVD7106MB MH rod based upon your recommendation in another thread. I am going to use it as a deep crank rod and am looking forward to throwing around a 7'10" rod for the first time. Had a question about it, though. Is this such a technique specific rod that you can't do much else with it or are there other presentations you think it would work well with?
  15. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Sunline_Crank_FC_Fluorocarbon_Line/descpage-SCRF.html Anyone have any experince with this line? It has had me curious for a while now and then when I saw Matt and Tim mention it in their video today motivated me to ask you guys about it. Any opinions out there?
  16. A few had bloody tails and 2 had red "puckered holes" on the underside
  17. Brand new to jig fishing and I told myself come hell or high water this was going to be the year! Went to a farm pond yesterday and had some interesting results. This pond is probably 60 yards by 60 yards. I have been here before and had a lot of success just throwing a RES as far as I could and winding it back. Yesterday I took my wife (who was fishing a Keitech paddle tail) and 9 year old son (who was using a senko primarily) and something I found interesting happened. I started again with a RES and we all had NO luck whatsoever throwing towards the middle of the pond. I figured I might as well pick up the jig and try to get the hang of it. I had a 3/8 oz black and blue Siebert jig with a rage craw trailer because we had rain about two days prior and the water had a good amount of stain. I started throwing close to cover 15-20 yards off shore with no luck. I would let it hit bottom, sit for a few seconds, slowly lift the rod tip up to about 11 o'clock, lower it to about 8 o'clock then reel up the slack and start the process again. Is this a good, basic way for me to start working this bait and presentation? Anyway, the weird thing is all 3 of us ONLY caught fish like 3-4 feet from the bank. The weather was perfect and there was no incoming storm so it was not like they were wanting to hold close to cover, I would not think. We caught 15 or so bass, all pretty much 1 to 1.5 pounds. A lot had obvious signs of spawning but I was just curious if it was normal for them to just be SO close up against the shoreline all around the pond?
  18. I may take some of these suggestions up, may keep picking at it or make put it on the back burner. Time will tell but I will update when I've got one.
  19. Yeah, that is a nice area and should work well for you! From there I would give Wyandotte lake a try.
  20. From what you are saying if you were to use a swivel you would use it WITH the split ring? I assumed if I did it I would use it directly to the bait?
  21. To those that do not use a swivel but tie directly what is the advantage/reason to bypass the split ring?
  22. Oops! Last summer when I went out there that's the ramp I put my boat in at!
