Bass Pro Shops Spring Fishing Classic
I went today to pick up a few small items. The 2 people in front of me and the 1 guy behind me all had Garmin units in their arms. Must have been a fairly good deal. The guy in front of me bought 2 Garmin units along with 2 Livescopes. Cost was like $4400 or something sick! I felt inferior with my $25 check out LOL!

Dobyns Sierra or Champion
You would want a 735C for a jig rod, not a 734C
-
Biffle HardHead Jigheads
Out of curiosity why do you specifically say not a tube? What depth would you throw a 5/16 at versus say a 7/16 or are they so close you'd fish them the same?

Biffle HardHead Jigheads
What sort of plastic bait are you putting on a 1/4oz? What type of rod would you fish it on?

The latest sale thread
Maybe there is an obvious reason that I am unaware of but why will they not ship to Cali?

Was what all you guys were watching today on a certain TV channel today? Or was it online available for viewing online?
-
Classic news or coverage?

Classic news or coverage?
Anyone know of any good info, links or youtube coverage of the vendor stuff at the Classic?

Braid vs mono as backing on a bait cast reel
Now THAT is the one I was looking for. Since I started it (and therefore obviously read it) I knew it was out there but could not find it no matter what search perimeters I put in. Thanks!

Braid vs mono as backing on a bait cast reel
I don't think this is the one. The one I am remembering had Tom and another guy in it arguing about if the lighter weight of braid being on the spool versus mono would allow the spool to spin faster and in turn get more casting difference or not.

Braid vs mono as backing on a bait cast reel
I seem to remember a post on here with guys discussing using braid vs mono for backing on a bait cast reel and for the life of me I cannot find it anywhere. Possibly the topic came up in another thread no titled this and that is why I cannot find it. Can anyone find it or give me your thoughts on this topic and we can start a new discussion?

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I have a couple of items I am getting ready to post for sale in the flea market and thought I'd give you local guys a shot first to avoid shipping costs and hassle. I have two brand new Dobyns Champions I am selling. One is the 7'3" DC 734C S/H and the other is a 7'3" DC 735C S/H. I also have a brand new Shimano Curado K 8.5:1 that I will be selling. Only item I think I would accept back in some manner regarding a trade would be a Shimano Expride 7'2" MH. If anyone has interest let me know and if not I'll post it in the flea market soon. Thanks!

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
So if you say 14 for casting and 18 for pitching to targets if I wanted a line to do both applications would you say 16 is the way to go and split the difference? While I'm at it I seem to remember you too are known to throw a Zoom Ol Monster around. What would you throw that on?

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
Interesting. I am going to try jig fishing for the first time this year and I had always envisioned pitching to cover when using a jig. When you talk about casting a jig are you talking about casting a swim jig or are you talking about just casting out a regular jig and bouncing it back to the boat? Guess I never really envisioned using a jig as such, always assumed it was more of a "at a specific target" kind of presentation. Am I wrong?

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
Hey Russ, what pound sniper would you throw a 3/8 or 1/2 oz jig on around here?

While I would like to agree with you guys here you are clearly angle shooting here. You clearly knew it was a mistake so you tried to pounce on it. I have no problem with that frankly. But once it is caught and you are denied you have no right to complain.

What's the difference between swim jig & chatterbait?
As the question states what's the main difference? I read a lot about guys loving throwing a swim jig but I don't get it. Is the only difference that a chatterbait has a vibrating blade and the swim jig doesn't?
-
Another Braid to Fluro Question
I was always told that you want the OD of both lines to match up fairly well. I am reading here that many say the braid main line is often THINNER than the leader?

Bass Pro Spring Sale
Can't speak to other Bass Pro stores but my local one will only price match a brick and mortor store within 50 miles. Won't do anything with online.
