  1. I bought a handful of red eye shads in Baby Carp color during a sale a few years ago. Haven't been able to hook a bass using that color.
  2. networking and being at the right spot at the right time. A lot of marine/sports shops around need grunt work, its a good way to become knowledgeable about products, meet regional reps. having a business degree helps but when you have that you can find higher paying jobs. Your going to spend a lot of time in a warehouse or putting 150k miles on a new $40k truck that you have to replace every 2-3 years for insurance.
  3. Around here all the bank catfish and some sturgeon guys setup at the docks at night. Ramps are also close to the campgrounds and I have no idea whats opened and closed for boats at night. I do know you have to have a 360deg white light shinning and i'm afraid someone would try to shoot out the light.
  4. I have a lake 2 hours north of me and another 2 hours west of me that has tiger muskie to control the squawfish and yellow perch. I plan to cast for them out of a kayak during the hottest months of the year because they are in a higher altitude so its cooler weather than where I live. Does anyone recommend any lures and have any tips? edit: visibility is probably 20ft deep.
  5. I just wash my hands, they smell like b ass anyways.
  6. I picked up a box today for $3 at walmart in the tp section. Was wondering if I can make due with 1 pack. Reminds me of some joke my grandpa told me 30 years ago about folding 1 sheet of toilet paper.
  7. what brand of hooks?
  8. I dont know a lot about boating laws and if a paddle is required but it would be a good idea to have one on board in case of a breakdown. You could try to customize his old oar by putting some kind of wrap around it like heat shrink tube on the handle, painting it, or wrapping it in para cord. I was down at Cascade River Gear the other day, they sell Maravia white water rafts that are made here in Idaho and had some pretty cool oars on the wall. https://cascaderivergear.com/
  9. IDK, looks like a finesse jig. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-BALLHDPILLH.html?from=basres
  10. Most everything everywhere right now is held up in some warehouse/boat somewhere. Idaho is lucky its already at phase 4, everything is open (except REI). Oregon is at phase 2 and last week opened up some parks for camping in the Gorge. Most businesses in California are still closed and are not shipping/receiving merchandise (thats where most of the awesome chinese products are stored before they make their way up here). Its hit and miss everywhere and a lot of online retailers are advertising ebay prices with little to no stock to generate revenue, closeout items, close out brick and mortar stores, even shut down companies (Evinrude). Look at Megabass for example. People use to ask every week in the sales thread when another sale was happening. No one asks anymore, or it was a marketing move last year to get the name out. My Cabelas in previous years use to receive 1-2 trucks a week and was always out of fishing supplies this time of year. Sportsmans Warehouse is a ghost town until the winter when the demand is non existent then you can look at pretty packaging because they have inventory. TW skipped a sales weekend this year. Pretty soon I think most of us will be pouring molds for our own weights, making plastics, tying hair jigs or sitting inside watching youtube. While you see most commercial buildings turn into detroit. Im happy I jumped on the dobyns facebook order this year. I dont think we will ever see anything like that again.
  11. odd, dont remember making this topic. Posted this on the sales thread though.
  12. I bought one of these from dicks a few years ago and It worked great for wacky worms and ned rigs. Doesn't look like they offer shipping anymore, but I was able to stack coupons on top of the sales price. Lew's Carbon Fire Spinning Rod 6'8" Medium Light I also bought a casting and Dislike the casting version but the spinning has been good. I eventually upgraded to a handful of dobyns for each presentation but the rod still gets used as a ned/wacky worm buddy rod. Looks like they have a new version of it thats shippable. You might even try a light. I bought a 2 piece 8' TFO off sierra.com for $70ish paired with a 30 president reel, 4# berkley line. Its always in my truck. Trout, Crappie, and small/large bass. Hasn't broke yet and its a lot of fun in open water.
  13. I switched to 10# braid on my spinning setups with a 8# invixz fluoro leader and I will not be going back to mono on them. Been using Daiwa J-braid Grand and its working great. Its like power pro super slick v2 but less than half the price. Still running izorline mono on the square bill rod. 832 on the frog sticks. #50 832 frays off and makes a mess with the line guide on my baitcasters but its only $13 during the spring sales and lasts a season or two.
  14. New kayak arrived today. Jackson was O/S & local dealer in town only carried white water and the $2k+ jackson fishing kayaks saying he wouldn't stock the bite and there was no markup. I managed to find this in stock in Portland Oregon with no sales tax and only $75 shipping for $974 total. Shipped next day from Next Adventures warehouse on SAIA. Still waiting on a bending branches paddle from ACK and Yakima rack w/fishing kayak mount so no clue when Ill be hitting the water. Pandemic and everyone back ordered is really getting old. Trying to figure out how to mount a anchor wizard, might just go with a retractable dog leash to some 3# weight for now. Need a cart, not sure If i want it to attach through scupper plugs or have the kayak lay on top then ratchet. Still need a fish finder, large net for tiger muskie, paddle leash, rod leashes, molle bags for the back of the seat to hold knipex, large pliers, flashlight. This should be a blast in the local gravel pits, reservoirs, & lakes. 2020 comes with seat locks. I think ill have to cut down a 8in gear track and hope a anchor wizard will still fit. Some YT video said a 4in track is too small, so get the 8in.
  15. not available to ship ?
  16. just got the fathers day cabelas sales flyer. Starts june 11th. Stradic CI4+ $149.97 while supplies last. I've had a tatula on B/O for a lil over a month with Gander, wondering if I can snag one of these or just another advertisement with low stock/no availability like everything else during this pandemic.
