Heard something concerning today.
The fiberglass boat and vehicle industry have priced themselves out of the market for me, I don't finance anything. Could I purchase a new, fully loaded fiberglass and/or truck? Yep, by the grace of God I sure can. Will I throw the money away on something that in no way is worth what they're asking? Not only no, but heck no! Looking for a lake or river lot right now. Like I told my wife at the last boat show that we attended, if it doesn't come with a zip code I'm not going to throw away that kind of money. I look at the new boat advertisements in Bassmasters magazine and just chuckle. P.T. Barnum was correct.

Credit, where credit is due
I'm normally not one to do this, but I'm fairly blown away right now. Yesterday, around 2:00 pm I ordered some H2OX tackle storage stuff from Academy. It was supposed to arrive this coming Tuesday. It was on my back porch today at noonish! My order was big enough to receive free shipping and I never pay for expedited shipping. That's some excellent service!

Sleeping at anchor in a bass boat?
I'm in the "sleep in your truck" camp. Used to do it all the time when trout fishing on the Caney Fork River in middle TN.

do you still consider yourself a rookie in fishing?
I'm 63, been fishing since I was six years old. Far from a rookie, maybe I'm to the advanced side of intermediate. There are a few techniques that I haven't mastered, some I'll never even try.

MLF... Slight touch ??
That was a slight touch too. I like Matt a lot and agree with @AlabamaSpothunter, I think he's smarter than he acts.

Clean or pollish blades on lures?
I've used Brasso in the past with very good results. Rinse them with warm water afterwards.

Tackle News
First, let me say that I'm no financial guru. I do what's right for me personally, I've got a guy that does a great job with everything else. Anyway, just read an article about Subway selling to a private equity group. The same one that owns Jimmy John's, Arby's and some other's. I don't remember the groups name, but they beat out Sycamore Partners in the bidding. Just found that interesting. Go on about your day.

Color Preference?
I'm pretty basic. For soft plastics, I carry green pumpkin, June bug and black in just about everything. Green pumpkin is my most productive color. I also have chartreuse, orange and blue eyes in the boat. The only exception is for flukes and grubs, where I also carry white and clear w/ colored flakes.

What happened to the road trips!??
I agree! I've had the pleasure of meeting @Glenn his lovely wife, @TnRiver46and a couple of others (can't remember their names) at the 2019 Classic. There's so many other's that I would like to meet, hang out and fish with.

Tackle News
Hopefully some company will step in. I hate it for the employees. There's going to be a bunch of pro anglers looking for new sponsorship. I hate to see

Old school music.
About all I listen to is classic rock and country. The only new music I listen to is red dirt. Majority of the crap out now in both genres is just that.

Eating while fishing
When I was tournament fishing I always carried that I eat on the run between spots. Now I only fish half days so it's pretty much water and one soft drink for the ride home.

Favorite Lure company and why
It would be hard for me to choose. I like Strike King hard baits a lot so I'd probably go with them. Soft plastics, Zoom.

Talk me into fishing tomorrow
I can't help you buddy, it's too hot for me to go fishing here. Been over 100 for a few days.

Gators
I live in southern Arkansas, nine miles from the Louisiana border. I'm told that one of the smaller lakes that I fish has a bunch of gators. In my mind, if they're in one lake, they'll be in others. I've never seen one. I subscribe to the thought that if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. I worry more about snakes falling out of the cypress trees, but that just me.

Mann's Razorback crankbait
Thank you for the information @Team9nine!

Mann's Razorback crankbait
Thank you for your reply. Mine is a long bill, around the length of a Bandit 200. I'll replace the hooks and hardware and see if it runs true. If so, I'm going to have it repainted. Thank you again.

Mann's Razorback crankbait
While poking around an antique shop, I found a Mann's Razorback crankbait in a fire tiger pattern. It looks kinda old and a little rough. I've removed all the hooks and split rings, plus gave it a bath. I picked it up for $2.00. Has anyone ever heard of this crankbait?

MLF... Slight touch ??
From my understanding, he didn't. A "slight touch" doesn't warrant a penalty. I agree with @A-Jay, mlf has "jumped the shark". They are a joke.

Short Arm, Single Blade Spinnerbaits
I see those in some local mom & pop shops in north LA and Southern AR.

How often do you change line?
Floro: Never, don't like it, refuse to use it. Mono: As needed, minimum of twice per year. When I'm finished for the year, I strip all the line off of my reels and back off the drags completely. Start of the season I clean and lube all reels and spool on fresh line. Same for the halfway point. Braid: I only have one reel left with braid. It's been on the reel for approximately two years. When it is no longer trustworthy, that reel will be back to mono too.

Short Arm, Single Blade Spinnerbaits
@papajoe222, Please do post a picture of two. Like @GRiver, I enjoy tinkering with baits.

Storing mono line
I keep my line in a box, in a closet in the house. Cool and dark.

How do I get bass blood out of a shirt?
I've always had great results putting Dawn dish soap directly on the stains, let it sit for a bit then wash like normal. Never had a stain of any type that it didn't work on.

bare minimum. how FEW rods can you get away with?
I could probably get by with one rod and reel set up, but I'm not in to retying all the time. When I built the interior on my "Bass Jon", I installed six rod tubes. For bass I carry two 7' 1" casting rigs (1 m/h, 1 m). Also, two cranking rigs (1 m/h, 1 m). Lastly, two 7' spinning rigs (1 m, 1 m/l). I also have a 7' 2" m/h rig for Carolina rigging, a 7' m/h spinning rig that I swap in and out as needed.
