  1. Exactly this, ski if possible, if not use down and left or right
  2. Ive got the champion XP and it is much lighter but not in his price range. I do have a fury for my 795sb and that is a bit heavy to be honest but still a great rod for what im using it for
  3. dobyns. just go with it. options no matter the price range for quality rods
  4. this guy has it figured out perfectly
  5. i have fished it, it is basically as you descirbe... the moon
  6. Brad says it best. Where do you plan to fish the most and what would suit that water for you to get out without a hassle. Does that mean loading up the bass boat with all your gear in it or throwing the yak and a few rods with some tackle in the truck to make a day of it that way. Only you can answer this question. On another note as another poster mentioned, bass boat is more expensive and you could always get a kayak later which is cheap comparatively.
  7. what paddle did you end up with?
  8. depends on you since both are a 4 power rod and length is the determining factor. you like it longer or shorter?
  9. just use pliers and if necessary fish grips as well. often all 3 will be dug in so just choose one side and work your way to the other without letting the hooks you have already unhooked go back into the fish. whatever you do do not just use your hands or you are askin for it ?
  10. toss em anywhere you are willing to do so! work it past any ambush points since it is a reaction bait. i like megabass 110's and variations of them (110+1, magnum, jr, and so on)
  11. trick stick is closest to senko imo. its not a senko buts its d**n close. i will use them over senko due to a price you cant beat
  12. the red hook is to signify a gill flash which will trigger any predatory fish to strike that being said you must use this method on reaction baits
  13. red hooks on the front. does it help for sure ? i dont know. do they fish bite the red hook more than the other one? yes
  14. wow my bad lol i didnt even think about he was on a budget i was just saying what i used for it. i might look at a falcon bucoo rod tho for a budget with whatever reel
  15. dobyns champion xp 683sf (medium power on the lighter side) and a shimano stradic ci4 1000 light, sensitive, can pin a good fish
  16. Spend more and get a stradic ci4 2500 and never look back
  17. costa green mirror in glass lens. get it. you are welcome. if you want one for lower light they make a silver for low light conditions. I have both and use accordingly. i do not fish salt or I would have some blue as well
  18. Confirmed, TW sale is up
  19. I will recommend the Shimano Casitas. That is the first bait caster I owned and it was nice enough I'd still use it today if I hadn't dropped it in the lake. If you get something crappy once you get the hang of it you will just throw it on the shelf and get a better reel. You will do this anyway but this might last you a bit longer before hitting the shelf.
  20. You have to get some 110's... many have said it in this thread. Just go ahead and do it. Seriously what are you waiting for get off the computer and go now my friend.
  21. I was thinking the same thing. I own the same rod but would not throw a weightless fluke on it for the reasons you mentioned. It is specifically built to land fish with trebel hooks. Weightless plastics always go on my medium, fast action setup that I use for wacky and other light presentations that require more of a hookset. The sweep mentioned is also the way to go.
  22. closest thing i have found to normal senko is big bite baits stick worms. dingers just dont do it for me but the big bite bait is that fine line between action and durability
